So I've been learning (or rather, reminded) of one of my bad habits-not drinking enough water when it cools off. It seems I drink more when I'm hot, instead of paying attention to when I'm thirsty. BIG mistake since I've had a few nasty cramps as a result.

Keep hydrated all year round, no matter the exercise you're doing. I've always been told that you should drink 1/2 oz of water for every pound of body weight. Easily doable if you keep your water with you all day!

It's finally cooling off here in Oklahoma and from what I've seen, just about everywhere else!

Are you running a race before the end of the year? Starting a new training plan? This is the time of year when I get back into the weight lifting and step up the cardio (so I can survive the holidays!). I like to be ahead of the curve and have good habits in place before the Halloween candy, Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas cookies show up! emoticon

I've been mentoring a teenage girl in my neighborhood, training her for her first 5K. I'm an early morning runner, school and dance classes mean we train at night (which I hate!). It's been much more tolerable (and I'm learning to like it more) now that it's cooled off in the evening. I think I'll sign up for my local Turkey Trot and maybe a holdiay run somewhere in there...
