Yes, MARI. I think if we truly could go back in time, we'd see that the original Thanksgiving was more about giving God the THANKS for protection and new friends, and that they had a little food to share.

My DH and I are invited to one of his nephew's for dinner. They usually have ham (or so I've been told). One good thing, they have vegetables from their garden, so there will be good veggies to go with that. Not sure what will be served, so not sure what I will be able to eat. I am so thankful, though, that we are invited. There were many years this nephew did not speak to his uncle, and now things have been patched up and they are back to being close again.
