Yes, MARI. I think if we truly could go back in time, we'd see that the original Thanksgiving was more about giving God the THANKS for protection and new friends, and that they had a little food to share. emoticon

Why is it that when we think of Thanksgiving "eating" is the first thing that come to mind emoticon

My DH and I are invited to one of his nephew's for dinner. They usually have ham (or so I've been told). One good thing, they have vegetables from their garden, so there will be good veggies to go with that. Not sure what will be served, so not sure what I will be able to eat. I am so thankful, though, that we are invited. There were many years this nephew did not speak to his uncle, and now things have been patched up and they are back to being close again.

If we saw all the difference even the tiniest of our prayers make, and all the people those...prayers were destined to affect...we would be so paralyzed with awe...that we would be unable to get up off our knees for the rest of our lives.

My husband wants Turkey with all the trimmings. I'll probably eat some turkey breast with a little corn casserole, sweet potato (with a little margarine) and a small crescent roll.

I have been very successful with just eating like normal on thanksgiving day. There is no need to stuff myself.

Haven't made a plan yet except to eat light and pick out foods that are healthy. Eating at my wife's parents for lunch.

Thanksgiving is a big food day emoticon Let's help each other by sharing our plan for the day emoticon

Dinner is at my house, which is good because I feel less like eating when I do the cooking.

My Plate: 1/2 Salad and vegetables, 1/4 turkey with a spoonful of cranberry sauce and 1/4 sweet potatoes. Coffe and a reasonable slice of pumkin pie.

No white potatoes, gravy, butter or rolls/breads.

I will focus on the purpose of the Day, being thankful for all that I have and especially thankful that God has given me the tools to do what I need to do for myself.
