Low-carb is the only way I can do it. No calorie-counting, no nutrition tracking (after the first week once you know which foods have all the carbs and just leave them out). I don't eat grains, beans or sugar. I do eat full-fat dairy, eggs, meat all from pasture-fed animals, fish, lots of veggies every day in whatever quantity I'm hungry for and some berries or very dark chocolate for dessert. The healthiest diet for your heart by far and VERY tasty and easy to stay on for life. Inflammation and heart disease is caused by inflammation which is caused by carbs. Cholesterol levels, especially triglycerides and HDL, will improve dramatically, so will blood pressure.
Exercise is much easier because you have so much more energy, no more blood sugar roller coaster to sap your energy, you just pick something you enjoy, even walking.
