I finished this challenge with a 20 minute 4k bike ride. I had to wear gloves and jacket to do it but I did it.

Looking forward to more bike challenges but maybe it will have to be next spring. : )

Started off this week with a 30 minute bike ride and did 6km more or less - I tried a different route so I didn`t get it measured yet with the car.
Cool enough for a jacket today. But still great to get out in the fresh air.

Hi,
I would have posted yesterday too but our internet service went down so I missed getting online last night. Yesterday I did finish the week with a 15 minute, 3km bicycle ride. It was getting rather cool so I finished up a bit early. I'll have to dig out warmer sweaters for next week.
I sure hope everyone is having as much fun with this challenge as I am.

I start my week on a Sunday, so when I saw only 65 minutes of exercise, I thought I had missed one. Last Sunday was Sept. 30, and was my first day tracking. So I am happy to say that I rode 100 minutes this week, 3 times out.

week 3 day 1. I got 6kms in today. It is so nice to ride a bike outdoors with a nice cool breeze blowing on my face. The great thing about riding a bike instead of walking is that I can keep ahead of the mosquitoes on the bike. emoticon

Finished out this week with a 6k ride. Time is getting much better. I did it today in just 25 minutes. Down 5 minutes from last time.
I am learning more gears and drive most of the 6km in 5th or 6th gear. Wow for me.

Actually here in NJ since our challenge started we have had good weather for being outside. THANKS MOTHER NATURE!! .....but I also enjoy the quiet time in the early mornings on my recumbent bike.....gives me time to think about my health & wellness plan.

Another 4km on the bike today - did it in 20mins. The wind was blowing quite briskly so it made the workout a bit harder on the legs but felt good to finish it.

I rode 35 minutes today. Where I live there are hills and valleys. It went better today- I had more stamina and finished my route about 5 minutes earlier than I had last time I rode it! emoticon

I biked for over 45 minutes this week two times and cut the grass
with a power walk behind mower, and then did some vigorous gardening. Not 3 days of biking, although I did ride the 45 minutes in 2 rides. So I guess I passed the first week challenge.

Did my 30 minutes of biking this morning. I have to use the stationary bike as I can't leave the house due to dh and someone has to be with him at all times. I did 15 minutes yesterday just to warm up. LOL

Wow! I like having a challenge. Last night I was to meet some friends, and decided to ride my bike instead of driving. It was awesome! Got in a 30 minute ride considering both directions. So, for this week I have met my goal!! Feels pretty good. Now, three more weeks. emoticon emoticon

Indoor cycling relieves stress on joints while exercising, which can be beneficial for people who are overweight or suffer from arthritis. The Cleveland Clinic recommends cycling, indoors or outdoors, for people who are 50 pounds or more overweight as a way to improve cardiovascular capacity without putting too much pressure on joints.

A study published in the June 2010 issue of the “Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness,” found that indoor cycling training performed three times per week for 12 weeks brought about improvements in weight and decreased the risk of cardiovascular disease in sedentary young women. Even if you don’t want to lose weight, a regular indoor cycling routine can help you manage your weight by allowing you to have an occasional treat without fear of weight gain

Ok first challenge I have joined. I do not have a Bike but I do have a gym membership and they have bikes so I will commit to going 3 times a week and spending at least 15 min on the bike.

REMEMBER this challenge is for EVERONE indoors or outdoors.

Set your bike in front of an open window & imagine you are out there, or in front of the tv for the daily news (my personal favorite, avoids boredom).

Hi
I have started this challenge. I remember back in June I was going for 10 minutes at a time on mostly level ground. Now I can do 4km and 1/2 the course is uphill. I am amazed at how much stronger my legs have become over the summer.
thanks for starting this challenge.


At the end of the day, be able to look back and say "I did my best today."

Loved the June challenge and it really got me started on a great summer of biking. I rode more this summer than I have in many years. I may end up doing most of it indoors, but will be outside every chance I get. The challenge for me will be getting the exercise time in because we are getting ready to move in 2 months.

I like this challenge and will ride my bike outside at least once or maybe twice, and the other times on my stationary bike inside. So, I will ride 15 minutes at least 3 times a week. For a month. emoticon

Sounds like a great challenge, but I don't have a bike. I have use of a stationary bike at Cardiac Rehab, so will use it 15 minutes the 2 or 3 days I am there.

Remember our June challenge.....I said we would do it again in the fall......well here we are!!

This Team Challenge runs from September 15th to October 15th.....the best weeks of Autumn.

You must ride your bike outside or inside at least 3 times per week for a minimum 15 minutes.
The idea is to get out and get moving.

You can add a personal goal to: increase mileage, increase speed, increase time/days or invite a friend or two to join you.

Just check in here once a week and let us know how you are doing.

So tune it up and shine it up and have FUN
