Omega-3sOmega-3s are a group of essential fatty acids required by every cell in the human body. These special fats came to the attention of scientists in the 1970s when they noticed that populations of Eskimos who ate a high-fat diet had no heart disease. Diets high in omega-3s are known to prevent depression, obesity, cancer, heart disease, and many, many other ailments. Humans use them to form complex thoughts and build hearts that can beat billions of times without stopping. If you want to think fast or run quickly, you want a diet rich in these crucial fats.

Best Sources: Fatty fish like sardines, mackerel and salmon, free-range eggs, and grass-fed meat

I made salmon patties this week and they were delicious. I get the pink salmon w/o skin and bones and add egg, hot sauce, and assorted seasonings, then spay a pan w/ Pam and make into patties put a little of Panko on to help keep them together and semi-fry in the pan. Super Good!!! I got this recipe out of a magazine and changed it a little bit. I am trying to add more fish, but my husband does not like Talapia.

GREATMARTIN, that's wonderful!!! Any help you can give us here is appreciated.

FIRECOM, you are correct about the wild fish. One of the links I posted touches on that.

After my HA I ate salmon twice a week. Unfortunately that has changed. My husband is the cook in the family and he made it for me with a honey mustard sauce. It was very good.

I will start wth adding one serving of healthy fish to my diet each week. emoticon

I love fish but my wife is not a fish lover at all. I will do what I can to work this in. It is important to make every effort to buy wild catch fish, not farm raised if at all possible.

For those of you who need a more advanced challenge:

Add 2 servings per week of Omega 3 Fish to your diet. You should always check with your doctor first. The links below from AHA and Mayo Clinic offer some good information.
