Wow ShoreIDO that sweet and sour soup sounds good! We went out for Chinese smorg for Chinese New Year's today and I am way over on calories but not gonna sweat it. Will be off to aquafit tomorrow and will consume in lower range of calories. Will maybe walk also as I do not want to jeopardize the progress I have made so far. emoticon Let's all emoticon

I'm joining the challenge!! I lost 1.4 last week so I am stoked to do it again!!! Upping the exercise and decreasing calories (focus on less carbs not NO carbs). Just trying to MOVE more whenever I think of it.

I've recently lowered by objective of losing 1 lb. per week to 1/2 lb., mainly because I've increased my exercise, and seem to be swapping fat for muscle tone. I will go back to 1 lb. for this challenge. I currently weigh 210 and will weigh and record it each Sunday AM.

Now or never I can do this

New to this thread... will join you all.

My weigh-in at TOPS this week Wednesday was 194.5 (7/31)

....a little history....
been at it for a little over 5 months. I'm 'almost' to my half way point...boy um bad at arithmetic...heehee, I'm now 45 lbs down but waiting till my TOPS weigh in. I should almost be half way by my birthday maybe...the 19th. Would be a great present to myself this year.

Losing more than two pounds a week isn't recommended since it may mean that you're losing water weight or muscle instead of fat. So stick to one to two pounds per week.

IT'S THE FAT WE WANT TO LOSE NOT THE MUSCLE

Losing 1 lb. a week is a healthy and safe weight loss rate, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC. You can increase your chances of keeping the pounds off once you lose them by adopting a weight loss plan that encourages eating a healthy, balanced diet.

As you lose weight at the healthy rate of 1 lb. a week, you'll reduce your risk of obesity-related medical conditions. Your blood cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure are likely to improve with a moderate weight loss of 5 to 10 percent of your total body weight, according to the CDC. Losing weight safely also may improve your self-image, mobility and energy levels.

What has worked for me is eating about 5 or 6 mini-meals during the day - about 350 cals for each meal and 150/200 cals for each snack - keeping my total carbs under 200 grams per day and never eat a carb by itself, always with a protein or healthy fat.

lost 1 lb this week but look at signature and see how doing since I started using SP.

I set my ticker to my highest weight of 210 lbs because it gets upset and doesn't want to save when I gain weight instead of lose.
on Dec 30, 2012 I joined SparkPeople and weighed 195.8

Saw this Challenge and figured I should jump on it cause it is do-able! Plus I went in the other direction this past week and gained a pound. So today I pledge to Myself, that I will lose at least a pound this week.

When you go into your "Edit" my Spark page, on the right at the top does it say "pounds" to lose? Did you enter the amount of pounds there?

Are you in Canada....it may be different. If you go to the Community tab at the top of your page, to the message boards, to Technical help, you can post & ask this question and a Spark tech will get back to you with an answer.

I just figured out that if I start now and lose a pound a week, I will be under the 200lbs mark and also only a few lbs from being officially "overweight", not "obese" by my 30th birthday. I am def going to try it out.

I may be going slowly at my own pace, but I'm beating all those watching from the sidelines.
