Miss ~ you did great maintaining while on vacation. That can be a difficult feat and you should be proud of yourself.

I can't speak for everyone here but I know I have self-esteem issues. I work on the things I can control like my eating habits and weight while trying not to beat up on myself for the things that I cannot change such as how GOD personally handcrafted me to appear physically. Sure, I'd love not to have my knock knees, be 5'2" (always wanted to be 5'5") and have to wear glasses but it is what it is. Even if I could afford eye lasik surgery, I couldn't go through with some one cutting my eyes...

Be gentle with yourself... emoticon

I can simplify my life and lighten my burdens by deciding realistically what I want to do and what I have time to do. (~_^)

After one week away for a vacation, I weighed myself. My weight remained the same after one week. I did not stay in plan, but I would say that certain eating habits stuck with me over the week to help. One thing that helped is that we were staying in a camper and there were limited other food opportunities around. We had to conserve food so we didn't run out since there were no grocery stores and few restaurants.

Daily breakfast was Fiber One and 2 % milk. Usually had a piece of fruit for snack. On the road we did not have food in the car but did have coffee, water or diet soda and gum. We stopped at fast food for lunch but I had either 2 fruit& yogurt parfaits or fruit smoothie (real fruit and yogurt). Other lunches were bag of salad with turkey lunch meat pieces and low fat dressing. Ate at a wedding, but ate turkey , green beans and potatoes without gravy. One supper was a fish fry but I had the baked cod. Did have a couple light beers a day, some chex mix and onion fries (these were instead of meals), and wedding cake (just wanted to try it and it made me feel yucky and I remembered why I never eat that stuff). Also, did eat broasted fries and one piece of fried chicken with skin (otherwise pulled the skin off) and one supper was pizza. Was able to do walking and kayaking, plus when you're in a campground you have to walk to get places. With all the fresh air, I slept great.

Now I am back on my plan. For two weeks before vacation I had been doing the Simple Diet Phase 2 but had been making sure that I ate between 1700-2000 calories per day. I had been regularly lifting weights. During that two weeks prior to vacation I had maintained my weight.

If I would evaluate my progress, I would have to say that my biggest problem is my self-esteem issues. After blogging yesterday about the facebook/picture issue I realized (once again) how down I am on myself and apparently how vain I am! I will be working on this issue.
