A few ideas:

- Put it in a fruit smoothie
- Use instead of sour cream with salsa, black beans, grilled veggies and/or chicken in a taco or tortilla
- Mix with a teaspoon of raw honey and berries for a custom (and healthier) yogurt

I've been making a Curried Chicken Salad with Yogurt, Red Grapes, and Cilantro quite a lot recently - I eat it in lettuce cups. LOVE it!

I love my Fage yogurt and always used it as substitute for sour cream, whip cream and more.

I use yogurt as salad dressings. For fruit salads, I mix yogurt with a bit of honey. I only need a small amount of sugar as there's already sugar in the fruits. Yogurt is a good alternative dressing than whipped cream or creams since those are high in fat.

I substitute yogart for sour cream, use it in my corn muffins. I also add it to soups to make them creamy and it gives them a little tang. I recenty added it to my chicken noodle and hubby really loved it

Keep on track

Great tip on the cornbread, thanks for that! I like to mix yogurt with tahini, a little lemon juice and zest + whatever fresh herbs I have kicking around and a pinch of sea salt. Tasty spread for a whole wheat pita with veggies, or grilled chicken, baby spinach and tomatoes.

As already suggested, I use plain yogurt as a substitute for sour cream. It can also be used in baking and creamy sauces. If you ever make cornbread, add a tablespoon or two to the batter, and some creamed corn. Yummy!

I personally don't like yogurt in smoothies, preferring to add just a bit of tonic water or pomegranate juice, and a scoop of whey protein powder (mine's gluten and lactose free). Nonetheless, the occasional liquid meal can really be a good and filling way to take in some fresh fruit fiber, carbs and protein.

Thanks for some ideas.

I did add honey to the smoothies--just think that liquid meals of that sort aren't really my thing.

Try subbing it in anything that calls for sour cream.

I like to make a breakfast parfait. Just put add some cereal and blueberries in with some yogurt. This time of year, I use frozen berries. For cereal, I like Ezekiel cereal or you could use granola. You might to add some sweetener such as honey or agave nectar depending on your tastes.

I'm sorry I don't have a dinner recipe if that's what you're looking for.

For smoothies, did you add any honey or other sweetener? the plain yogurt can make them bitter.

Does anyone have any recipes that use plain yogurt? I have a big container but didn't love the smoothies I tried to make so much.

Wondered if anyone had some main dish recipes to use it up, please?
