Yesterday I got a small 1 serving bag of baked split peas, they have some salt & oil added, but no sugar or artificial ingredients or anything else. They also come in regular chip size bag & sell for $2.50 for that size. I did not know they had 100 calorie package size, there are a lot in the small package. At least it was a healthy snack. I need extra salt because blood pressure is 80/60 without it. I have too much real food made at home that has no salt in it.

I have chronic kidney disease and low blood pressure & blood clots in both lungs for 3 years..I am 55 years old. I do walking, ride the bike at the gym 65 minutes, 3 times a week & go ice skating for 90 minutes 2 times a week for people over 50. My name is Linda.

For peanut butter I buy kraft peanut butter with chocolate, it has no more sugar the regular kraft peanut butter. I prefer it to Nutella, it tastes better and has 1/3 the amount of sugar Nutella has, so is better for children. Not all stores sell it and in small print it says peanut butter, large print says chocolate, so if you do not look at the label properly you might think it is a chocolate sauce.
Walden farms also sells many low calorie & 0 calorie items, 0 calorie jams,0 calorie chocolate sauce, 0 calorie syrups etc. many kinds of healthy peanut butters all at $4.00- $6.00. I suggest you could put them in your diet to use occasionally, they use stevia as a sweetener. Many companies online sell this brand cheaper then the actual company site, unless the store you shop sells it.

a good snack that I can recommend is plain yogurt with honey :) I get to satisfy my sweet cravings from honey while the tangy-ness of yogurt is simply just divine :)

Rachel, they sell that peanut butter in my supermarket; I know they have the dark chocolate and the white chocolate ones. Normally I'm not a huge peanut butter fan, but they DO look yummy.

You asked about the flavored peanut butter - I've had it before too. It has sugar (evaporated cane juice), but is all natural.

I munch on carrots/celery sticks with homemade hummus for that 'crunch' factor. I tend to want snacks that are crunchy instead of smooth - a smoother snack doesn't satisfy me as well and then I'll eat more than I should.

I love nuts, but usually prepack them into little containers so I don't eat directly from the bag/can.

I like wholewheat crackers like Wasa or Kyvli spread with a little goat cheese and some Kalamata olives. The whole wheat olive oil and black pepper Triscuits are really good with the cheese/olives.

My favorite snack is nuts and dried fruit. I usually keep some in my car for when I'm away from home for a long time. Although I have to be careful with the portion size, since this is a healthy snack but does pack a bunch of calories.

I'm currently hooked on frozen banana slices. Easy, quick, healthy, and it helps me get in my W8W 5 servings of fruits/veggies a day.

Doesnt that flavored PB have tons of sugar and processed stuff in it?

I eat all natural peanut butter, and my favorite snack is that mixed with yogurt and cottage cheese

Flavored PB on celery or apples or in yogurt. My favorite is the PB Loco brand.. Dark Chocolate Raspberry or Cinnamon Raisin... yummy, with the same nutritional content as plain PB!

Sounds good, Locolo! A healthy and quick snack!

Another idea: Drizzle a dab of caramel topping on apple or pear slices. Fruit plus a dab of naughty!

Sounds yummy, I love roasted garlic. It has such a lovely "sweet" flavor, oddly enough. :)

I just spread some fresh-from-the-oven roasted garlic on a rye crisp. (I was roasting garlic for spaghetti sauce). It was delicious and had only 36 calories.

What's your favorite snack? emoticon
