Temeka, where in Florida are you? Sorry the weather wasn't better for your visit.

Tomorrow is Easter and the last day of March. I am happy to report that I did manage to complete 3/4 of my list to reduce clutter this last week. This is an on-going project, I'll just need to stay with it and then maintain. What challenges do you want to see for April? Spark mail ideas.

Hey ladies, I'm checking in from not so sunny Florida LOL can't believe it's not warm the week we come down to visit, still beats the weather in Chicago right now but definitely can't do the beach.

We have visited the museum and aqarium so I am getting a little work out in by walking and today we are going to the zoo. Just hope I don't end up smelling like the animals by the end of the day!

Mid-week check: I have accomplished quite a bit this week. I was slowed down by having to go out to a dental appointment and because I took time to get a pedicure. In spite of taking two garbage bags and a laundry basket full of things to Goodwill I still need to get rid of more stuff. I need to do my taxes today and then continue on.

I am posting a weight loss this morning with my biggest loser team. It is all the bending, lifting and walking around the house.

I agree...the cleaning is a huge part of being able to proceed with a fitness/diet plan...your hourse has to be in order...as does mine...I, too, am also boxing up clothes to donate and just doing my spring cleaning, one room at a time....

Happy Palm Sunday. This is the last week of March is for motivation. I am motivated this week to work on cleaning my house and getting rid of clutter. This is an area that I definitely need help with and I need to spend time dealing with this. I am packing things up for Goodwill and the trash. This doesn't hae a lot to do with exercise or food but the clutter in my life is symbolic of the clutter in my food and exercise program. I check back later and let iyou know how I do.

Good luck Cassie with your goals this week.

I want to know why our bodies get so tired around that "time of the month" it's sooo annoying to have zero energy for no apparent reason. Ugh the joys of womanhood LOL

Zumba was a lot of fun last night but I didn't sweat as much as I normally do so not sure if I wasn't putting in enough energy or if I'm just getting stronger. The hour went by so fast that when she started the cool down I was confused LOL I definitely need to buy a Zumba DVD

I have been extremely busy and didn't post my motivation focus for this week. I did not do a great job with the exercise last week. I started strong and kinda fizzled out. I am going to go for a second week with that goal.

Hey everyone, just checking in. The weekend was busy so I wasn't able to log on, I didn't do any exercise though and I did not meet my goal last week. I planned to work out 4 days but I only worked out for 2 days....

I'm going to zumba tonight so that should count for two days of work outs LBVS

I hope everyone is enjoying their weeks. I might be MIA soon as I prepare for this trip, we've never taken a road trip usually fly everywhere but my husband thinks this will be fun LOL so I"m stressing trying to make sure we have enough food and games to keep the kids busy (we're takign our nephew as well). Plus we're leaving for a week and we've never taken longer than a 4 day vacation...

I think that happens with most ladies...LOL...I know my midsection will be the last to go...I don't need to lose anymore inches off my legs since they were skinny to begin with...

Glad your back is better...stretching can be a wonderful thing!! I am planning on resting this weekend so I have no gym plans...but that might change...we'll see...

Vacation sounds like it will be a fun one with your daughter....hope it is for you both!

My back is ok today. I think the stretches are working.

I'm looking forward to my daughter's Spring Break at the end of this month because I also took the week off!!!!!

So I lost another inch on my waist, it's still no where near what I want it to be, I'm about 5 inches away but it's getting there. I don't understand why I gain first in my mid section and lose last in the same area, my body looks a little wierd now from the side because my hips, butt, sides and lower back have all slimmed up but now it seems like all the weight is hanging right in front of my body... It's weird so hopefully my stomach catches up with the rest of my body soon LOL

Not sure where everyone is...maybe they are busy with their kids for Spring Break...I don't have any kids...LOL

I hope both of your backs get better...I have scoliosis so I totally understand about the pain when sitting, standing or doing anything for that matter...thankfully, I haven't had any episodes....

Hopefully your back gets better. I did zumba last night and today my back was ok while sitting so maybe my core muscles are getting stronger finally.

Temeka, I have just the opposite problem with my back, it hurts when I walk or do exercises and doesn't bother me when I sit. But if I sit too long, then it hurts worst when I finally get up L. My girls are grown and have their own lives, so to speak. For years it was just the three of us doing everything together. I am kind of lonely now--so the idea of a dog has taken on a life of its own. Due to the economic state of things I am not able to travel like I used to during vacations and the summer. Last summer I stayed in and read and watched television. I will probably be motivated to take the dog for an early morning or evening walk.

I got up this morning did the am yoga stretches, a one mile walk and then the cool down stretches. It felt good. I am going to try to do that each morning--maybe take Friday off and add strength training on Tuesday and Saturday.

I asked about Phaedra's workout. I would have trouble with the lunges and squats because of my knees. I discovered that the Kettlebell swings also stress my knees. I am going to try to get stronger in the knees and try them again later. Have a great week.

Sparkle my back still hurts while sitting but not while standing or exercising. I just try to keep it stretched out. Thanks for asking :)

Cassie- my daughter has been bugging me about a dog :( I'm not a fan LOL but goodluck with your new family member :)

So this week my goal is to continue my 4 day work outs as well as incorporate 2 days of core strength since I think this will help my back muscles.

I can't remember who asked me about the Phaedra and Apollo work out before but I finally used it over the weekend, I actually really like it, lots of challenging lunges and also a core workout as well. I will keep this in my rotation of work out videos for sure!

I am not perfect. I need to remind myself of this fact constantly. I ended my work week on track. Yesterday I went to a Seafood Festival--yes I ate some fried seafood but I had only eaten a piece of fruit for breakfast. I figured that I had a few extra calories to use. The festival opened at 12 noon and went to 10 pm. Thee were all types of vendors (crafts, purses, etc) and music. I caught the last half of a rock band performance, a country singer who was excellent, and a reggae band before I had to leave. I left to go meet my new dog. I think that Lacey is coming to live with me on March 22. Her owner was the aunt of my former student. She lost her fight with cancer. Lacey will be seen at the vets and groomers before she comes to me. She is a petite Maltese, I am excited.

This is sounding like a blog, sorry. This week I am going to concentrate on my motivation to exercise. I am planning for 5 days of 30 or more minutes, intentional stretching daily (thank you 5% Winter challenge) and 2 days of strength training. That means I should have 7 days of exercise this week.

The temperature dropped here again this morning. I know it sounds babyish to complain about 40's in South Florida but it feels cold. I didn't want to get out of the bed, so I readd a few chapters until I had to get moving. Of course, I was running barely on time. I decided that Id wanted a large DD coffee and a bagel with cream cheese for breakfast. I was so fixed on that, I left the house with my lunch on the kitchen counter. I had a protein shake, some plantain from the cafeteria, cherry tomatoes, green pepper slices and a few black olives for lunch. I didn't send out to Tropical smoothie or Jimmy Johns! Then I had a major disappointment when I went to my yoga class (see 5% Blog What for details). I am still on track with feeding myself this week, I would have gone to the supermarket for the bagel but they wouldn't have had my coffee.

I did get in a work out last night and plan to do another one tonight. My back is a little better, it doesn't hurt to stand anymore and the work out felt ok. It just hurts now when I sit too long...

So I signed up for a Zumba class through my park district. The first day was yesterday and I completely forgot! I was in my basement working out when I thought about it but it was already too late... Not sure how that slipped my mind LOL

@Temeka: Hope your back is better. I managed to get all my meals done yeserday, and have a great s tart on toda y. This is really difficult for me. I did get in 35 minutes of fitness yesterday but that is not this week's focus. I'll think about it for next week.

My goal is pretty much similar to yours...I want to eat more "freggies" so I plan to get at least 3 fruit/2 veggies servings a day...that means less eating out and more prepartion at home...I am aiming to get this in at least 4 times this week....Good luck!!!

My goal for this week is to plan, prepare and eat the food I need. This sounds easy but I generally do one or two days at home and then fall back on restaurant meals or take out. I am going to plan my menu, shop this afternoon and prepare and eat at home this week. May the Spark be with me!

Temeka and I would like to know what motivates you. Can we set a weekly motivation goal and check in with our emoticon at the end of the week? Goals can be about anything, just State your goal on the chat thread, check in daily if that works for you but everyone should check in by 12:00 pm on Saturday. Our week starts on Sunday.
