I love to read. I read mostly non-fiction. I was a Political Science student in college, so I love anything political. I do like to branch out into some classic literature though (Jane Austen, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Julia Alvarez are some of my favorites).

I'm currently reading All Too Human by George Stephanopoulos. It's a memoir about his time in the Clinton Administration. So far, I'm loving it!

Reading "The 5 love languages" ... kind of want to throw it away right now. Not that the book is bad...just isn't helping me the way I was hoping it would...

Currently reading the "Madly" series. It's a fantasy-fiction and it's very captivating. I'm currently almost done with the second book and almost onto the third. I would recommend this to those who have interest in the genre. I think it's only an e-book so if you have a kindle app on your phone you can access it from there. The first book is free :)

@SkinnyRobin, The series is children's fantasy with a fairly epic good-vs-evil storyline. It takes place in England and Wales, with a couple different groups of characters. The audiobook is amazing. My husband read the print books and he really likes the stories too.

@Noneorstarlet, I can never decide if Persuasion or Mansfield Park is my favorite Austen novel. It depends some on what mood I'm in.

I tend to be hip deep in books. Right now, I'm reading about five books in turns. I just finished the fourth book from the Dark is Rising sequence as an audiobook, and seriously recommend those. The main narrator does books 1, 2, 3, and 5 (haven't listened to 5 yet) and a different narrator does book 4 because of all the Welsh. Both are great to listen to in my opinion.

Finish each day and be done with it. - Emerson

I'm one of those people who is always in the middle of like two dozen books at once... but the books I've been reading most recently are Persuasion (my favorite Jane Austen) and Mountain of Black Glass, by Tad Williams (book 3 of the Otherland quartet). Great series for sci fi fans, it's a re-read but it's been a few years since I committed to the sheer size of the quartet -- each of the four is about 800-900 pages long. They're pretty massive. But very well constructed.

I love to read. My favorite type of book to read is historical romance, but I like all types of books. I am currently reading 3 books right now. The one I am most focused on completing first is The Spark: The 28-Day Breakthrough Plan for Losing Weight, Getting Fit, and Transforming Your Life.

I do like to read and I read allot of different things in the course of one day. News, Entertainment, self-helps, how- to's, and recipes with healthy articles galore, but when it is time to read a book, I'm finding I lack time with all the other reading I'm doing. I'm trying to get back into the swing of a good book, and just concentrating on it, alone. I always love a good mystery or a 19th century historical story, WWII books and biographies done about the 60's. I have allot of good books here that I own and haven't read yet.!! I joined a reading club a couple weeks ago, here in town at the local library and they are reading "Wild" by Cheryl Strayed. I have yet to open it, though it does look like a good book. It is a Memoir about this 22 yr. old girl who solo hikes parts (1100 miles worth) of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California, Oregon, and Washington State. She also wrote the novel "Torched".

I love this topic. I have been a voracious reader since I was in first grade. I am happiest reading 2-3 books a week. I love all the suggestions. I am currently reading Surprisingingly Unstuck: Rewire your brain by Maria Brilaki. (Amazing book about how little things have such a huge impact on our success) and Robin: Lady of Legend (re-telling of the Robin Hood tale if Robin hood was a female). I will read just about anything. I love that I have an e-reader because it is so easy to find new (often free or inexpensive) books on the internet.
My favorite genres are sci-fi, fantasy, historical, biographies, well to be honest--if it's written I will pretty much want to read it.

Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.

No, Rayne, I have no desire to read 50 Shades of Gray. I know a lot of people who have read it and liked it, though. I have never read any of Patricia Cornwell. I think my sister has read some of hers and liked her.

I've just started a Karen Kingsbury series. I did a couple of overnight shifts, so I had a lot of time to read. Plus, it kept me awake. emoticon

LOL karen, Dont read Fifty Shades of Gray, I loved it, but it sounds like you would hate it...

Books are really relaxing to me and I love when a book can take you into their world and you picture in your mind the story line and places and faces.... Steven King is one of my favorites for that.

I love reading. Right now I'm reading Atlas Shrugged, and I'm not very impressed with the writing style or the whole book. I know it's supposed to be some sort of great literacy piece, but it is taking all I have in me to get through it. I'm also reading The Hobbit, and Soul Rider.

I love most genres, but Sci-Fi/Fantasy is my favorite.

One of the things I love best about having a smartphone, courtesy of inheriting my son's hand-me-down iPhone 4S this past November, are the E-BOOKS which are so handy! Way back in my high school / college days I was a VORACIOUS reader, but all that fell to the side with work, life, etc. Now I can shoe-horn some reading time while waiting in line, waiting on others, etc.

Most recent reads? Joel Fuhrman's "Eat To Live" and a great autobiography "Catch My Drift" by Jamie Pierce...about a woman struggling with depression and working closely with her therapist.
