Weight dropped just .4 to an even 265. As much as I would have liked to seen more, given all of the issues I was dealing with late last week with my daughter and the resulting lack of exercise and not so good eating, I almost consider it a victory of sorts! Plan to hit it VERY hard this last week and knock off those last two pounds.

Week 2 results: Lost 3.6 pounds for the week (5.6 total for the challenge). Waist was up .5" which probably means I did not read it right last week (or maybe this week - who knows?). In any case, I am very pleased with my progress!

Good on you Patrick.

Here's mine:

Down from 192 to 191....still no waist measurement, but I'll get to that.

How I will do it:

- Keep my weekday calories at the low end of my range (1630-1980)
- Weekend calories will not bust the upper limit of the range
- Lift at the gym 3x week
- Do the 100 pushups & 200 situps app workout 3x week
- Log all calories daily
- Blog and hit the message boards at least 5 days/week

How will I measure my results:

- Daily weigh in on the digital scale, first thing in the AM

I'm going to start adding cardio on a stationary bike....I've been cleared to do this.

PLM 4 week challenge goals -- week 1 results:

• Lose 8 pounds (02/22: Lost 2.2 pounds!)
• Reduce waistline by 2” (02/22: Lost .5” inches!)

How will I accomplish this:

• Limit caloric intake to 1800 calories per day, 5 days per week (2/15 – 2/21: Hit target 3 out of 7 days, missed a 4th by TWO calories!)
• Increase protein to 30% of total calories per day (2/15 – 2/21: Did not hit 30 – was in the low 20’s all week)
• Exercise a minimum of 60 minutes a day 5 days per week, with 40 minutes of that being “vigorous” exercise (i.e.. strength training, cardio, power walk) (02/15 – 02/21: Made goal!)

And if you want to post them here locally that is fine too. When I do my first update next Tuesday I'll post my starting measurements, updates as of 02/22, and net change (hopefully all minuses!).

Hey Patrick, I just got back home from a trip and didn't get a chance to log in. I'll start this off, just need a little guidance on where the measurements section is so I can post them

Good luck gents!

I will shoot for the following in the 4 weeks 15 Feb - 15 March:

5 lb loss - from 192 lbs to under 187 lbs

How I will do it:

- Keep my weekday calories at the low end of my range (1630-1980)
- Weekend calories will not bust the upper limit of the range
- Lift at the gym 3x week
- Do the 100 pushups & 200 situps app workout 3x week
- Log all calories daily
- Blog and hit the message boards at least 5 days/week

How will I measure my results:

- Daily weigh in on the digital scale, first thing in the AM

If I get around to buying a tape measure, I'll add in a waist measurement too

Thanks for doing this!

Thanks for doing this, Mitch.

I'm going to pass on this go round with this group because I'm already in a challenge with a group at my chiropractor's office. But I think this is a great idea.

My challenges are currently focused in getting back into regular exercise, daily. I've been slack on that. My weight is almost where I want it to be. I'm down about 40 pounds over the past year, and 25 pounds since October! It's an eating plan from the chiropractor. They once called it their healing diet, but now, just the advanced diet. No sugar and things that turn to sugar quickly. (grains, potatoes, sweet fruits, etc). All else is essentially unlimited. Never hungry. Don't have to count calories. Good for what ales you. If you want links to the site write me personally. I really like it. Good coaching. good mentoring from the others at the local clinic.

Dan

Hi gents,

I've not created a challenge in quite some time, and I've had some ideas rolling around in my head about how I need to jump start my diet and exercise program, so I have come up with a four week challenge. You will need to tailor it to what you'd like to accomplish, but here are the basics:

Start Date: Tuesday, February 15, 2011
End Date: Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Goals: This is where you fill in your specific goals, i.e..# of pounds to lose, # of inches off your waistline, etc. Define HOW you are going to get there i.e..# of calories per day, amount of exercise, etc., and how often you are going to monitor your progress (daily, weekly, etc).

So...if you are interested, reply to this note with your goals. I will reply to it first with my goals so you'll have some ideas.

GOOD LUCK GENTS!!
