I have the Atom wrist guards because I got them for free. One of my coaches is sponsored by Atom (he's a boy) and the wrist guards were too small for him. I like them in that they are light and very open in the back. However, I miss the support along the back of the hand. There was an instance where I went down and put my hand behind me and it hurt my wrist quite a bit. I feel like the support would have helped in that instance. But overall, they are nice. I really do love that they are small and airy.
I want to try the 2.0 elbow pads. The newer knee pads do look better than the initial version, but I can't see my knee gaskets being cozy under them. I have bursitis in my left knee and I will never be without my gaskets.
I just got a Triple 8 Sweat Saver helmet for the new season because we decided to go to matching helmets. I'm not a big fan. That thing is friggin' hot!! And this is coming from a gal with a cloth cover over her daily helmet. (I had to cut open the cloth over the vents so I didn't sweat to death, but you can't see the slits that I made.) Luckily, I only have to wear it during games.
I love my 187 pro-fly kneepads. Not as crazy about the 187 elbow pads, they get hot and take a long time to dry after practice. I would also love to try the new Atom set. My coach got them this week and said they are much better than the first run (the ones without the hard cap on the outside). Can't wait to steal them to try when he isn't looking, haha!
I'm completely in love with my TSG III knee pads. I've heard of girls complaining about how bulking they are, but I've never had a problem with the bulk. I guess I'd rather protect my knees. The memory foam is amazing.
I am curious about the new Atom knee pads though. I'm waiting until RollerCon in July to try them on before I buy them.
