Past week 4 and still omitting some sweets. Resisted urge to buy Lindt chocolates (which were on sale for 74 cents in CVS for small bag). Came home today after a day when everything mechanical went wrong - instead of eating a ton of chocolate, I sat down to ONE piece of chocolate and a cup of Chocolate Raspberry Coffee! Satisfied me!

God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but ... He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. Debb - LI NY

Maybe we need a high tax on sugar. I don't know how much cigarettes cost now but I would think the same price for a pound of sugar as a pack of cigarettes should be the minimum. Maybe 3 times of that would be even better.

Excellent plan....and AWESOME news catch! Keep in mind, Oreos aren't the only food that has been designed to be addictive. One step at a time, one day at a time. Knowledge is power!

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

What I find somewhat funny is that yesterday after I wrote about the Oreo's, on the night news they had something on Oreo's and how they are addicting like a drug. Humm, a drug- guess that might keep me away from them emoticon

On a morning show, they talked about a research project feeding oreos to rats. They eat the center first. It is said to be as addictive as cocaine. Happy rats! Fight the cookie! emoticon emoticon

Don't give up. Sugar is just as addictive as alcohol or cigarettes for some of us.
You can do it, one day at a time.
Cheers,
Birgit

Even though I got through the 4 weeks, I feel I need to stick it out a little bit longer.
Yesterday was not so good. I had a sugar crave and over did it. At exercise class, the other ladies also said that for some reason that day, they craved sugar and ate a little to much.
I can do it, I just need to get back to being serious about sugar. Glad the Oreo cookies are gone. I gave my mom and dad the last two. You can guess who ate more than that yesterday. Yep me. No more of those in the house please. emoticon

One goal I am going to make for myself (and hopefully keep, as I have never been good at making or keeping them) is to read more blogs from you all. I have to quit thinking I'm in it alone.

You all have a wonderful rest of the week.
