The term 'diet' has taken a bit of a beating turning it into a temporary state, but it is indeed what you normally eat. I hadn't given it any thought but it would be interesting to research a little to see if the term 'diet', the temporary state, came into being about the time the food industry starting really manipulating our food sources for greater profits. There was a time when a healthy diet meant a healthy lifestyle.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
Mistakes are the portals of discovery.
Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.
I find control the hardest part of this journey.Getting back on track is the only way I can get things back in per portion. I dont miss the old way of eating, I have to learn to limit the amount of the foods that have caused me to be over weight.
I do not consider my journey a diet rather a lifestyle change. I see a diet as a temporary period in time but what i am on must last a lifetime or i will just go back to the overweight person i used to be. Best wishes as you move on in the challenge
I read the article, but I am by far from what most would consider normal, as a scientist and educator, The word "diet" means to eat properly, and if you are eating properly there is no need for moderation since it is implied in a proper diet. But I have learned control and I know what to do if I lose that control.
“If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.” ¯ Henry David Thoreau, Waldenlath
