I've found that removing all unhealthy food is the best approach, however, I live with three other people who love to eat sugar, salt, fat and white flour in whatever combinations. So I just see their food as non-food and really don't see it as a possibility. It's working well so far (about six weeks so far). And I feel so much better -- energetic, happy, etc. I fear the cravings may return -- probably under stress. But right now I'm holding very strong.
You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.
Mistakes are the portals of discovery.
Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Good job on the cleaning. Luckily tomorrow is our garbage pick up day so I did the same. Unfortunately I cannot trust myself enough at this point ( just started journaling and focusing on clean eating today) to keep anything more than fruit and nuts to satisfy my cravings. I hope I lose the cravings soon but know it will not come without a new mindset, which I am working hard on!
cleaned cabinet out of as much junk as I could. using wheat flour if I make something instead of the white I had before. bought some atkin protein bars an snack bars because they only have 1 or maybe some 2 grams of sugar which are a lot higher than others which I find have as much as 20 to 40 grams in them. also bought two kinds of sugarfree pudding today thought I could put blueberries or strawberries in it as a snack. also have deluxed mixed nuts, walnuts and dark chocolate almonds as snack foods around. of couse my apples, oranges and sometimes grapes. well that's my new items around the house instead of cookies, brownies, and cakes. think I am doing ok.
