The pantry clean out will take me forever. I can't afford to throw out all the "junk" but what I am doing is not bringing in more "junk". I am working on changing my oils over to coconut and olive oil. Fresh fruits, veggies and meats and out with the pre-packaged junk. Slowly and surely I will get my pantry in order. Did you switch everything out or are you still working on it?

BTW, I can't WAIT till all of my Hamburger Helper Meals are out of the cupboard!

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

I'm doing very good at substituting fruit, however I do still have the chocolate cravings. I see other people stating that sugary foods now taste too sweet. I'd love to get to that point. Not there yet though. My problem is that fresh fruit doesn't seem to keep very long which is frustrating because then I end up making multiple trips to the store.

I have completely given up diet sodas for water. I think I was "scared straight" after a video I saw about the negative affects of drinking soda and what it does to our bodies. That pretty much cured me of ever wanting it again - something I never imagined I'd give up or even that I'd crave water (if that's even possible).

I don't keep many sugary foods in the house and if I have any they are in single serving quantities and I usually keep it frozen if it's any kind of chocolate because then it doesn't satisfy the same smooth, melty, creamy craving as room temp chocolate.

I'm on vacation this next week, having a staycation so I hope that one evening I can work on cleaning out and reorganizing our pantry.

Sometimes I feel like the cravings for chocolate are hard-wired into my DNA. It feels like such a struggle to overcome them. Gotta keep plugging away at more healthy swaps & behaviors I guess.
