Start of week 3 and things are going so well for me! Gone are the unhealthy sugary candy bars. I am eating fruits and drinking diet juice in place of them. I have tried sugar free candy, and even those I am finding I am fitting them in to my food program, and not every day! I I am tackling my triggers, emotional eating, although it is still a struggle, i am coming out the victor! Since joining this challenge, I have lost 9 pounds. I am so glad I am doing this for myself!

Thanks. I think I might sign up for a half marathon. I did one in October and because I knew I had to eat right to train and do well, I stayed away from all the junk. Then the holidays hit.....

I can't wait to get home and check my scales to see if I'm down a few lbs. I haven't been able to get much exercise in here, but I'm feeling like I've lost a few.

Still at my daughter's house. Everyone here has a cold. I started getting it and got better. She doesn't usually have sugar in her home, but people from her church are bringing meals to them. Since I don't know how to count the WW points in them, I've not had anything. And I'm not sick! I think it's the sugar.

I weighed myself on her scales this a.m. and am down nearly 4 lbs (if her scales are accurate). I'll wait until I get home to my own scales to see for sure. Another good reason to keep pushing!

I think I've been on Week 3 for about 2 weeks - seems a long time anyway - and I'm not sure what progress I'm making. I seem to be on and off. I managed about a week with no sugar at all, then I had some stuff with sugar in - and well, I'm not exactly binging on the stuff, but I've noticed it trying to get the upper hand again. I think it's also linked to caffeine, when I have more tea and coffee, I want more sugary things too. I'm not over this stuff yet, and not sure that 4 weeks is going to do the trick. I'm going over to check out the Week 3 tasks and see how I have done - if I'm not there yet, I will re-set my week to Week 3 and stay here until I get it!

emoticon I'm still at my daughter's house - she doesn't have any sugar here at all, so it's easy to stay away from. Hopefully, when I get home, the cravings will be gone!

Everything here is pretty high in fat - I'm trying to watch my portions, so hopefully, the scales will be kind to me when I return home next week!

I did overcome a temptation to stop for an ice cream cone yesterday when I went to the store!

I have to share my slip up this week with the group, we had a baby shower at work with left over cake, unfortunately I rejected the sweets at the party but when they took it out yesterday I slipped up.
On to working off the 2 slices of cake and staying away from the chocolate.

Glad for all you guys here working with this struggle.

Right now is a good time to start fresh.

I had a 100ml pot of good ice-cream today - and tried to eat it mindfully and gratefully - and to love the sugar in it, not be overcome by it. It was eaten as a lovely dessert, at home, controlled amount. But it's also a day when I've over-eaten on carbs (bread and savoury snacks) - so it's a bit of a binge...... spoiled my no-sugar streak - - - - - - but I'm not beating myself up about it!

The power is in YOU. emoticon emoticon

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

emoticon That healthy cake sounds AMAZING (especially as I'm sitting here at work hungry... and bored). Great job on avoiding the "sneaky devil"! I love it (and your name for sugar too). Keep up the great work! emoticon emoticon

Sounds like we're all doing well here! I was fine at work - stuck to my plans and won! Even didn't pig out on the way home after my shift (a trigger point for me when I'm tired and feeling in need of comfort!). I have just made a raw cake - carrot pulp, dates, walnuts, raisins, coconut, spice, carob powder, ginger, lemon zest - no sugar, no flours - it has to be kept in the fridge - is about 200 cals a serving, but full of goodness and very satisfying :D

Got back on track yesterday and feeling so much better. My family doesn't celebrate Easter, so it wasn't difficult in that respect, but being at my daughter's house, there's different foods around that I'm not used to and a lot of it is loaded with sugar and fat. I went to the store and bought some of my own snacks, Greek Yogurt, fruit, veggies, etc. I'll do that a few times until I go home to help keep me on track.

Good job everyone!

~Nancy

I am glad for now you have it under control and hope you have plans to give it away or use it in something that can be spread out over time.

I haven't done so well the past 2 days. No candy in the house, but I'm at my daughter's and out of my environment. I got into some kind of cobbler last night, since there were no healthy snacks here. Not feeling well at all today. On a good note, I have a new granddaughter that I get to meet today!

Going to get to the store, purchase some healthy snacks and move on from here!

It's Easter Day - and I'm off to work. Easter brings chocolate temptations in every direction. I've just blogged about how I'm coping with my 30g gift of chocolate! I'll just say that, at the moment, I'm winning! and I intend to keep it that way!
