I totally agree on eating air! I find that can do really well for a few days and then I have a "catchup" day where I eat everything in sight! I guess that means that I am not eating enough, but I can't really tell if it's due to the emotional thing, or if I physically need to eat more.
LORAC67 - you should check out a website called 100daysofrealfood.com. It's a great non-air lifestyle, focusing on whole, real foods. I find that if I cook in her style (I do like to make things from scratch, and HAVE to make a lot now due to newly developed food allergies), I'm not as hungry all the time - it's NOT low-cal, but the food is healthy and filling.
Right now I eat very limited grains. Not quite paleo (I do eat rice, beans, oats, and dairy - I LOVE my dairy), but heavier on the meats, veggies, and fruits. I still seem to have a "catchup" day, but far less often.
