Oh if you like carrots, start trying some of the others like cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, peppers (yellow, orange, and green). Check through SP recipes for good vinaigrettes that can be used as a dip to get the fats you need to help your veggies and digestion. Be fearless and try other veggies too, say eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli and cauliflower. You're going to love yourself, and your food will love you!
And @MAMA-TO-FIVE, try substituting plain yogurt or avocado (thin slices or mashed) where you normally use mayo. YUM!!

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It's a real challenge to retrain your brain to view food in a new way but it sounds like you're getting there. Mayo is my vice and all the kids like it so it's always in the fridge singing its little empty calorie siren song at me. Evil, evil mayo and bbq sauce ;)
You are so right about veggies being our friends. Root veggies like carrots still have quite a bit of sugar but are far better choices than sugar itself. Give the greens of some of the root veggies a try. Carrot greens, turnip greens and radish greens are all yummy in soup or stir-fried in coconut oil with onions, garlic, and some sea salt. Yum! I remember now how much hidden sugar is in bbq sauce. And the other things we have here at our house. And that I need to moderate them. I am starting to measure my sauces and not eat them as often. Will start drinking more water. And eating fruits and veggies without dressing. Finding out I like carrots without ranch dressing. (Still logging food on Tracker). Had dinner at the church. They had meat and carbs but did make a pear salad. So, I ate that and had a Kale salad for dinner tonight. Topped out 6 veggies all day.
