Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.
Thanks to the chemo treatments last year, dad's taste buds have been off, so I've been trying to bring other foods in that he can eat and get them kickin' again.
Its funny that I got some jalapeno kolaches last week to help with my sinuses (that spice opens them right up) and I got a free bag of donut holes. I let dad have 'em and he said he took a bite and he's like "man, I just taste the oil." I have to agree, and have really had less hankering for donuts lately.
Helping my dad get his taste buds back has helped me try and use mine well, and yeah, I've gotten to the point I can taste the veggie oil in donuts and don't want it anymore. I imagine i'll have a weak moment some time and forget when they're conveniently there, but I'm not craving them. I'm learning to take my time and savor what's there, but its taken a long time to learn.
Good on you for no donuts, and hope it keeps going strong!
