I wouldn't consider myself to actually have a sweet tooth, as such: adding sugar to food or drinks or fizzy drinks have never been of interest to me and when out for dinner, i can easily bypass a dessert without thinking twice-even if everyone else at the table is ordering something. HOWEVER! I love sweeties (candy, for my fellow team members form the states!) and I get into silly habits where I have one or two sweet treats of choice and then go through a period of time where i guiltily buy them or proudly ignore them at the supermarket...at the moment it's donuts, but not so long ago it was snickers....now i have no desire for snickers?!?!?! These 'cravings' therefore presumably aren't all that deeply rooted?!?!.... It's ridiculous, and as I write, it's beginning to seem to me like I subconsciously need some sort of vice or guilty pleasure to turn to when I'm not feeling so great! I'm hoping that joining this group will help me to quite plainly eliminate this bizarre feeling!!!! Does anyone else get this?

I am in week one of the challenge and so have been trying to keep track of when I crave sweets. One of the things I have noticed is that I don't necessarily crave sweets, but I do just eat them because they are there, or because I'm bored or not sure what to do next (this one especially when I am at work). I'm starting to think that maybe I don't have a problem with sweets, I have a problem with impulsive, mindless eating.

Sweets, especially dark chocolate, is my go-to when I'm depressed or lonely. And I have no discipline if it is in the house. So I'm trying not to buy it at all, and so far I'm doing okay. I also eat these sweet treats out of habit I think too.
