I also am taking it one day at a time, I read that we are supposed to eat 6 teaspoonfuls of sugar daily and I am eating no candy, sweets, I am also not eating my gold fish, but I realize I am getting sugar in almost everything I eat, and so I have to be more observant

I know what you mean, I am eating less sugar and trying to think about anything before I eat it. I think it is helping me to put down everything I eat, I have just started with Spark people so its all new to me.

@SELENAPEPPERS: I hear you! You got this and can do it! To help my craving I have water with lemon and cucumbers in. When I feel for a craving I just say, "I must drink more water". I believe you. Stay strong!!

What are stumbling blocks and defeat before you, can be stepping stones to victory if you remain determined.

Taking it one day at a time seems to be all we can do. I am on day 3 of not having any sweets and I am struggling. I have a habit of eating a candy bar daily and I am really missing that right now.

Yes take it one day at a time and make small changes so it won't be so overwhelming.

Okay I am on my second day of the challenge. I thought it was going to be so easy but it has been a challenge because my husband is very lean and can eat anything he wants and gains no weight. I find myself wanting things from his snack cupboard but I try to talk myself out of it. I am struggling with this more than I thought. I found a great reason on why I am doing this challenge.

Reason: Because now junk food tastes like garbage.

Everytime I crave that junk, I am going to remind myself of the reason I am doing this challenge and what my end goal is. I hope this helps some else like it helped me too!

This is my first week so I'm not trying to cut down yet. I've noticed now that I've signed up for the challenge I'm eating less sugar anyway. I'm more mindful of what I'm putting into my body. Looking forward to beating by sugar cravings for good!

I have been good for months and have lost 20 lbs but yesterday I blew it. Dunkin Donuts, Wendys, and Pepperidge Farm Cookies. I started today with Fiber One, peaches, and skim milk and a 45 minute walk. I am going to be back today. I swear. I don't know how I could let myself do that yesterday. I am going to struggle as well JACOBNME but I am not going to stay down. Good luck with your own struggles.

Hey guys! Joined the challenge today. I'm thinking I need to get not so embarassed, ashamed, and awkward-feeling about being healthy. I'm starting to understand, just from navigating sparkpeople, that I'm doing things pretty well in life just by starting to take part in this. So, in addition to the ridiculous self-conscious issues I have with being seen working out, or measuring food, or trying to fit into my clothes emoticon I'm tryin to break out of the silliness I feel when I talk about my issues - especially health/weight/self-esteem issues.

So thanks everybody for being here, we'll see how this challenge goes.....

Started sparkpeople and eating better / exercising regularly just a week ago, but so far I'm feeling pretty good!

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

emoticon to the team and challenge. What I found to be of most benefit is to chose 1 area you want to focus on and then slowly get control of that and then you can move on to another. It may be difficult to do several at 1 time if you are currently struggling.
I know you can step up and meet this challenge.

Hello. I am starting on this adventure of taming my sweet tooth. It is a huge struggle for me. There's been times when I seem to be able to control things, unfortunately this is not the usual, it is the exception. So, having said that, I will take it one day at a time, and see what happens.
