Basically, anything that is not running is cross training. Biking, either stationary or road, swimming, elliptical machine, any arobic type classes, Zumba, Pilates, P90X, Insanity. Some say even simply walking is good cross training for running.
My cross training usually consists of stationary bike or elliptical machine at the health club. I also walk 2.5 miles every week day at lunch time, even on the days that I run. I do strength training on Sundays, concentrating on lower body exercises, but even then I jog to and from the health club.
I'm curious about this too now that we are headed into Week 17.
What type of ST do you do with your training plan and how oftern ?
