I like my drinks too even tho I know it is a no no especially beer. I do like red wine so I am going to have Red wine one a day only on weekends for February.

Tips for the 14th: check; 15th: check; 16th: check; 17th: check; 18th: check.

Gotta change my way of doing weight exercises, though. Not going to be able to commit to 5 days a week after all. I've done the SparkPeople Dumbbell Squats full-body workout three times so far, and I've upped it from 12 reps to 15 and from 2 sets to 3 sets and modified the dumbbell work to include some shoulder work as well as chest and back. Will be able to do 3 days per week for sure, *maybe* one or two more in a good week. It's still more than I've been doing since before Christmas, which is all to the good.

You're on, though: 4 strength exercises a day. I think I'll achieve that by doing some push-ups, squats, calf raises and good-mornings first thing in the morning on days I'm not scheduled for the weight routine. That'll also help me stick to another challenge I joined--do 10 minutes of exercise first thing every morning. I think I'll have to say I'll commit to the strength exercises 5 days a week though as some days it's just not possible to set aside even the 10 minutes . . . .

I've been trying to follow the January Jumpstart program, it is NOT working for me. I have trouble doing strength training too, but I'm a lot better with the stability ball and resistance bands than I am with weights. I'll make a pact with you: at least four strength training exercises a day!

sigh. Today's tip--pump iron--is something I'm very on-again-off-again about. I know how good it is to do weights, and I really enjoy it for about a month or 6 weeks, then I start dodging my workout days. but the Heart Smart calendar is right, a person really needs do do some weights work regularly, so I'll do my best to start including it in my fitness routines again. Tomorrow. If I'm strict with myself. ; 0

I do the same thing, in fact I make my own trail mix with nuts and dried fruit! It's a great snack!

aarrggghhh! sorry it took me so long to join in the discussion, FRENCHIFAL. Kept forgetting to look for the thread. Anyway, I'm all good for days 1-6 and I *really* like today's advice. I keep almonds and cashews in the car for quick snacks when we travel. Today we're heading to the 'city', a couple hours' drive from home, and I'll need a mid-morning snack before we get there. Almonds it is, I even managed to find some that are only lightly salted!!!!
