We know how hard of a job it is to keep ourselves in a healthy weight but we also know how rewarding it can be when we actually succeed at it!! Your light jewish rye bread (party size) is a great idea. Keep up with what you've been doing!! You worked the program admirably!! So glad we could be of help and support to help you along your journey.

REMEMBER: We are here if you ever need us at any time!! YOU ARE WORTH IT!!

I really feel the love in this group! We are all gonna have a good time sharing and caring here. Here's what works for me: I know this is gonna sound strange to a lot of you, but each time I eat a meal or a snack, I eat a piece of Light Jewish Rye bread with the Caraway seeds left in them. Not the big slices though, but the "party" size. No butter please. I also don't have any sugar, other carbs like potatoes, noodles, or any high carb food. I also do a lot of walking. I incorporate my walking along with my other housework, gardening etc. I walk about 45 minutes a day. IT REALLY DOES WORK. In a few days your blood sugars should be back to normal. Oh also keep eating the lo-carb veggies. Meat, fish,or poultry, even eggs are ok. Go light on the high carb fruit. Strawberries, other berries, and melons are ok. Hope this works for you all the way it does for me. Happy New Way Of Living to all of you. PS: I eat the Private Selection kind of bread here, found at Kroger.

emoticon Every day is Day #1!!

My family ( Dad-55, Me Mom-53, Son-21 and Daughter-19) are at various levels of fitness and overall want to increase family health and wellness.

They have been supporting my weight loss life reset full time since April 14, 2014. While I have lost 9 pounds, 30 inches, 5% total body fat and am exercising every day in the last 69 days, I have over 75 pounds to go to a heart healthy and diabetes friendly weight!

They all agree we can help each other better by a full frontal assault on bad habits!

Thank you for this challenge!

Keep going forward!!! emoticon

I've been fighting sugar cravings. I found It helps to stay full so I am trying to eat 8 - 10 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.

I have learned that I have to listen to my body. I lose the must weight when I stay full by eating lots of vegetables and only complex carbs. I also have to stay under 130 gm of carbs per day or I gain weight.

BONBON561 if your blood sugar rises when you add peanut butter back into your diet, look for an all natural peanut butter with no added sugar. They taste great.

I think I may have to take peanut butter out of my diet. I gave it up for Lent before I was told I was a diabetic. I started eating it again this Sunday and my blood sugars have been in the 130's. I haven't had it today so I'll see what tomorrow's number is

BONBON561 Your fasting blood sugar is first thing in the morning before you have anything to eat or drink. I take my blood sugar 3 times a day per doctor's instructions.

I was told to take it once a day. I thought FBS was first thing in the morning. I'll try before lunch and see if that is better

For me, eating the same things every day with very little variation works. I try not to have anything in my refrigerator or freezer that should not be there. I eat pretty dull, so I am sure most people will find this plan weird.

I have found that I make the best progress when I track my food and exercise and try to stay within my ranges ninety per cent of the time. I try to stay at the top of the range.
Good luck to you!

We are all trying to eat well and control our diabetes. I would love to have others share what works for them and what doesn't. For example, I use the plate method for meals. I find it easier than counting carbs and it really helps when I am out or vary from the Spark menus.
