Just still recovering and will start to finish the microwave cart that I started about two months ago. Painting it two different colors because it got scratched and looks dirty even when you clean it with bleach. So now I am put an enamel coating on it to make it easier to clean too. What was on it was a flat paint and every time you cleaned it the paint would come off some. I still have one more post to change and will be watching the weather to see what day to do it and to make sure that we will not be getting rain soon.

Deni I know that you must hate those shots and I hope and pray that one day that you will not need them anymore.

Melissa welcome to Florida and it is not so hot right now and not as humid too. They say it is going to get warmer but I hope that is keeps cool for us. That way we don't need the AC.

Cathy that is wonderful that you can work from home.

Melissa what I do with both threads is I post on one and then copy and paste on the other. That way I get both of them. Sounds like you had one heck of a storm come through your area. Sounds like you are busy too with all the clean up and then piano lessons too.

Cathy that is great that you can get certified and not have to pay all that money. When you can save money is great and when they pay for it that is even better. Hope the handyman comes and fixes it soon and before the weather turns bad. Have fun with your grandkids and I agree that it should be fun and not scary that can wait until they are older.

Deni that is good that your son is visiting you and that you will be watching the game together. Glad Dale got a better job and will be praying for him.

Was real tired today so I did nothing but sleep, guess I over worked my body because when I do that then all I want to do is sleep. But the work needs to get done and I can't let my son do too much with that hernia or he may end up in the emergency room or worse. So I try to take care of most of the stuff and let others slide. I want to stay on top of the lawn so that it does not get over grown and that makes it harder to mow. Now I will have to turn my attention to the inside of the house. Will have to do that soon. But need to rest so that I have the strength to do it.

Hi everyone,

On the spark page late today. My son called and asked if they could come up on Sunday. They don't need to ask but bless them for asking. Anyway I got up and made cookies for Brianna and we are going to make turkey sandwichs for lunch on Kaiser rolls. Chris and I are going to watch the Pats game. We have not had a chance to do that for a long time. Looking forward to Sunday.

Dale came home from work yesterday and said the manger quit. Dale put his name in for the job. He is Asst manger now so it seems like a good fit. He has been running the place when the manger is gone. May I ask for some prayers for Dales job?

Not much going on here but mowed the lawn and now am resting from it.

Deni glad that you are feeling better.

Rick if they get lost out there I can understand because I lived out in the country when I was growing up and it seems like they could never find our house. After I had left they decided to put numbers on the homes out in the country and also name the roads too., Even got a road named after my maiden name. Guess that they thought it was easier to do that plus I think that is because of my late uncle that lived out there and lost his oldest son in the Vietnam war.

Cathy how about just cutting the bottom off and putting a new board in it like the frame? That is what our handyman did and he did not use filler. Our door rotted because of the hurricane that we had in 2005 and it rotted the bottom of the door and also use enamel paint on the door since it will hold up better to the elements.

Morning all,

Nice this morning looks like another 80's day.

Well, the Direct TV installer got lost an couldn't find my house. It is a little difficult as there are two roads of the same name just one is east the other west. And if you don't have a very current GPS it takes you to the wrong place. So I have to reschedule. I was pretty upset yesterday waiting around all day. But the tech did call and I didn't see his message til an hour and a half later. I had been working and don't normally carry my phone on me because nobody ever calls me. and I didn't expect the driver to get lost, haven't had that happen in years.

Lots to do today. after exercise headed out to the barn to clean it It's a real mess with the other work we've been doing out there. Branches, bark leaves, manure all over the place and down the breezeway. And more tractor work.

Gotta run, the exercise bike is callin' my name!

Have a good day all!

Rick

Good Morning All,

Up early again this morning. My body is starting to set its own time. Thats OK just wish it would get it done.

Not much new here. Have some house cleaning to do. My son Christopher and family are coming to visit on Sunday and he and I will watch the Pats game together. That will be fun. Its been a long time since we have been able to do that.

What about the Red Sox. That was a very good game last night. We won 8 to 1. Another game tonight.

Must close for now Deni emoticon

Rick I don't think that I can do that here in Florida because of the moisture in the ground. I just put it in a bucket and it works fine but put too much water in the cement but my son will do the cement the next time. Now that I have an idea of how to do it I think the next one will be a little easier to do. That is one way that I learn how to do things and something that I have been telling my husband that I need hands on to learn how to do it. That is how I learned how to do the computer and other things and now I will have to learn more about how to do more stuff about keeping the house. PS you did it again and called me Donna. emoticon

Deni hope you get your rest because your body does need to have it so that you don't hurt as much.

Cathy did the handyman come and tell you how much the door will cost and how soon it will be done?

Melissa hope all is well with you. I know that you are studying for the next test that you will be having.

Good Morning All,

Will keep it short. Did not sleep well last night and very tired.

Melissa so sorry about your dog. I know how hard it is. We raised 5 litters of Goldens and had to say goodbye to her when she grew old. Did not want to let her go but it was best for her. She had a hard time walking and was draging her back feet. The day she pooped on the floor she felt so bad and I knew she was not well. I pray for your family.

Rick and Dorothy thanks for your thoughts. Leaving the COOP was hard but had to.

Cathy glad your handyman can fix your door. One less thing to worry about.

Must go Deni emoticon

Deni so sorry to hear that you had to quit you job. I know that you loved it. Sometimes we need to listen to our bodies. We are here for you!!

Cathy that is great that he got back with you and you don't have to do a patch job on it. Those seem to cost more in the end. Hope he fixes it fast. As for the strength to fix it either I do it or the neighbor that I told you all about will try it once his hernia fix is better. I just don't want to be around him. His wife is ok but I just don't want him around me at all.

Rick that was a job fixing that post and I just got it finished today. Got the dirt/sand around it and then my son put the screws in to keep it in place but one day I will have to replace the whole fence but got to find money for that because I will not be able to do it all. That one knocked me out for two days after getting the hole dug for the post and then my daughter helped with the cement (she put too much water in the cement and that is why it took so lone to dry. Plus it is humid here in Florida and after we got the dirt in and the fence back it was trying to rain and about two hours ago we got a good down pour and now I will have to look to see if I need to put more sand/dirt back around the post. Since we put cement in that took up some space but it will pack more with the rain. Will rest from that and then figure out when to do the other one. Have to wait until I have dry weather for a while since I do need to let the cement dry. It is suppose to rain tomorrow too. Not that we need it because we do but that means it will take longer to replace the post. Also when you go about two feet you will hit water so that make the sand like a heavy brick. Very hard to get out of the hole.

Melissa so sorry to hear that your dog might have cancer, my neighbor that has pugs lost one to it. The cancer was in the dogs head around the ear and she passed while my late husband and I were in Gainesville and he was going through a bone marrow transplant. The other one had cancer on his back leg but they were able to remove it. She did say that after he goes that she will not get anymore dogs because it is so hard to lose them.

Morning all,

Deni, I'm sorry yo had to quit the co-op. I know how much you enjoyed being there. But you gotta listen to your body. Unfortunately we don't win all the battles with Lupus But like you said, you can still visit with your friends there.

Cathy I must have missed reading a post. I can't imagine not being able to find a wood filler product when there are so many to chose from. Was this something specific the handyman asked for? I should probably go back and see if I can find the post before saying anything. It's just that I have used several different types. Of course we don't have the weather here that you do so that may be the difference.

Dorothy, no putting in fence posts isn't like a walk in the park. but KUDOS to you for getting it done emoticon Our ground here is very hard. I live on a place called Quartz Mountain. So you can probably guess whats in the ground. Quartz and shale with a little bit of dirt. This use to be a gold mining area. I have three mines on my property. Ii have to soak the ground a couple of days prior to digging. But it's all good. because now I can have my daughters boyfriend do the digging for me emoticon

Pretty much the same thing today as yesterday is on my agenda except for the dog lesson.

Time to get on the bike.

Have a good day all!

Rick

Good Morning All,

Did not sleep well. Had to quit my job at the CoOp yesterday. Just to much for me. Its just to much for me to do. Dale was very supportive of this. He said he could see it coming. Its very hard when your body just dosn't do what it used to do. Very sad but saw it coming. I can still go in the store and see everyone.

Got some cold weather coming in today for the rest of the week. In the 40s during the day and the 20 or 30s at night. Brrr!

Go Red Sox!!!. Very excited about our Boston team. Hope they do well.

Will close for now. Have a good day everyone Deni emoticon

Cathy even though they say a couple of weeks I have gotten them sooner than what they say it will arrive. So don't worry about it taking two weeks because it might be there sooner than they say. I have ordered products from them and had it sent to my home but I do know that you have to have a certain amount to get shipping free. It is allot easier to have it shipped to your home but if it costs allot then it is better to go to the store and pick it up there.

Deni you both posted at almost the same time, it happens!! Just like when you go to post on a blog and then you see that it is posted twice. I have done that because my internet can get slow because of the modem and it is acting up.

Rick know about putting fence posts in because that is what I just did and now waiting for the cement to dry. It gets too wet here in Florida to not put it in cement and I also put tar around the bottom to keep the moisture from eating the wood away. I don't live on a farm but in the suburbs and have a 6 foot fence that goes around my property and two of the posts are rotting. Have one fixed and it was leaning into my neightbors yard and the other one has a hole in the middle of it but at least I can take my time to fix it because that is hard work doing those posts. Now I know what my husband had to do when he did the whole fence by himself but he did not replace all the posts but only the ones that needed to be replaced. He did replace the entire fence but now some of the posts need to be replaced and I told my son that we need to go around and check the others to make sure that they don't need to be replaced. I was so tired after just doing that one and had this weird idea that it would only take two days. Ha ha ha. the joke was on me!!

Hi all
I think we have 2 threads going this week...lol, that happens sometimes!

The wood filler products I have looked for all have to be ordered. It seems no one carries them in their stores which is frustrating because it will take almost 2 weeks to get and by that time it will be colder outside and I don't know if it can be done then. And I'm thinking as soon as I order them, my handyman will show up! So I haven't ordered yet...arrrggg!

Deni, cleaning blinds can be a pain. It depends on how dirty they are. If they're just dusty, one of those tools that clean in between works well but if the kind of dirt is thick, sticky then you have to work harder with those tools and they don't clean as well, so it's best to just take them down. I usually use the brush tool on the vacumn to get most of the dirt/dust first and then I try to clean them with one of those tools or I've put an old pair of socks on my hands, lots of soap and water and scrubbing...whatever you choose, it's a lot of work!

Going outside to at least try to put the weather stripping around the door, put a second coat of paint on the front door and try 1 more call to the handyman. If I don't hear anything, will order that stuff tonight.

Cathy

Deni, I think we both posted this weeks thread at about the same time

Morning team,

Wasn't sure which to post to so for now doing both,

Not much going on around here. Been rearranging things around the house, putting new fencing and some grading around the barn, so it's kept me pretty busy lately.
We did take time to go to a movie. Seen "Gravity" II really enjoyed it. It was pretty intense.

TOPS this morning and I'm going to try to make the exercise class before the meeting. Then this afternoon Granite Bay for dog lessons.

Have a good day all!

Rick

Cathy I know that when we had a handiman do ours he only cut the part out that was rotting and then put a piece of wood that in, I think that my husband was expecting something more like what you are going to do and I may have to do that later on down the road. Hope that you can get all the parts that you need to fix the door and you get it done before winter hits your way.

Deni don't know any other way to clean blinds but to take them down. I do see those things that goes in between the blinds but do not know if they clean the way that you want them or if they even do a good job. Nice that you were able to see the fireworks from your home. That is the best kind and you can be comfortable at the same time.

Did nothing today but sleep I think all this work that I am doing is catching up with me and my body is letting me know. I have a tendency to do that. But I got to get this done before we get a good storm that will knock down that fence and then it will cost more money.

Good Morning All,

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Had a quiet day yesterday and today with the corporation of the weather we are going to start washing the blinds. Got a late start because of putting in the windows and the furnace. Any one know how to clean blinds in an easy way?

The other night we were watching TV and we heard big bangs and looked outside and they were setting off fireworks at the high school. They had won the big soccor game. We live down the hill from the school so had a front row seat. What a great surprise.

Must go and start the rasberry pancakes. Deni emoticon
