Hi to everyone It is so cold here in southern Il. too today. That old north wind is what's bad! But by Monday it is to be near 70. Crazy weather! It would be just best if it stay cold and then maybe some of this sickness would go away. Cathy i pray your DH gets good results on his test. God be with you both.I have just been doing those little things around the house that kind of get past ya when the summer is so hecktic. Just about got them all done today. As slow as i move it surprised me that i got as much done as i did! Got to go through a pile of jeans tomorrow. Find the ones that are to big!!! and then the ones i still am trying to get into!!! I pray the first pile is bigger.LOL You all have a great weekend.

Hello all
I live in Maine so its cold and raining here too, in fact I saw a few snow flakes coming down this morning. We're just staying home today too, getting caught up on housework, laundry, cleaning out some files, paying bills etc.
I need a haircut badly but haven't found a good stylist yet. The last one I went to cut it too short and put too many shorter layers when I told her long layers. I might just go to Super Cuts, but I've been to them before and didn't always like the cut I got....if I get really desperate!
Babysitting wasn't too bad this week. The dog wasn't feeling too well and was sleeping a lot because she keeps stealing food off the counters and table and it is not agreeing with her. My DIL was sick Wednesday but we went anyway to help because she was vomiting and had a migraine and just couldn't take care of the kids and the sick dog.
DH is finally starting to improve, not coughing as much and sleeping better. His meds will be done Tuesday, then we wait a week, have labs done, then we go see the doc again. Hopefully all will be good. He'll be checking on the PSA test which checks for prostate cancer so please send prayers.

Time for tai chi.
Have a fabulous Friday and a super weekend!
Cathy

Morning!
Another cold and rainy day in the east. We have a couple of errands to run this afternoon but otherwise we're staying pretty quiet and boring here.

My sore throat is worse today so still drinking tea and taking Tylenol...can't believe I feel worse today after making progress all week.

Just decided to make ham and potato soup for tonight. I made homemade bread the other day with our beef roast so the soup and bread will be a great pair tonight.

Hopefully I can also get some laundry and some writing done today too!

Have a great day and get ready to enjoy your weekend!

Hello all, Rick I hope that you have had success with your hunt.
Melissa, I do hope that your parents will get some help as your brother cannot be there forever, and your mom will take some time to heal.
I also pray for your other situations. Blessings to all, Diana

Morning all,
Rick...good luck with the video card. It's always something isn't it?
Thanks for the prayers everyone for my mom. Because my dad is also dealing with some health issues we are pushing hard for them to accept some home health care.
It's cool and rainy here today so we're staying inside and still nursing colds. Good day for me to write.

I keep forgetting to ask...does anyone else get nose ulcers? have you found anything that helps? I get painful ulcers inside the nostrils sometimes and run my humidifier to keep things moist, but i don't know what else i should be doing.

have a good thursday everyone and keep sparking!

Hi all, Melissa, thank the Lord your mom made it through her surgery ok, but she still has a long road ahead of her. I will keep her in prayer.
Multitalented, I will have to look up your published work, our youth leaders are always looking for new and good materials.
Rick good luck in finding what you need for your computer.
Take care all. Blessings, Diana

Rick...you're too kind. Thanks for the prayers and the suggestion that I might have 'literary fans.'

I write for a weekly Sunday School curriculum for youth called LinC (Living in Christ). It is published by Cokesbury and each issue can be purchased and downloaded, or you can subscribe to the curriculum and have it emailed to you each Tuesday. It's a current events based curriculum so we try to pick topics that are current but also relevant to youth. It has programs for both Jr. and Sr. High youth in each issue and is very versatile. I'm part of a team of great writers and I write about once a month and also serve as an 'extra voice' once a month on our conference calls. I've been writing for it for almost 7 years and really love being able to do it.
I don't know that us writers have any 'fans' out there, but we do what we do because we love God and love youth.

Just found out my mom made it through her surgery well but will have a long road of chemo ahead. The tumor was larger than they thought, and the cancer had also spread to the lymph nodes which they also removed. My brother is there and is keeping me updated...so thankful he can be there now.

Back to writing...I'll try to check in tomorrow!

Afternoon all!
well it has been raining like crazy here the past two days. but will clear by tomorrow and back in the 70's.

Melissa, my thoughts and prayers for your mother. I know it must hard not being there,
What type of writing do you do? Is it something we(your literary fans) would have access to?

My computer is still down. I went looking for a video card today and the only one I could find was 179.00. i am not going to pay that much for one. Especially since I am not a gamer. I guess that's one of the things you have to put up with living in a small town. I'll have to go into the big city tomorrow and get one.
Well better run. have homework to finish up before class tonight.
have a great afternoon!

Rick

Morning everyone,
Good idea Diana...thanks for the suggestion. I clean and sanitize the keys before and after each lesson, but I think your idea is a good one.

I'm holding my own fighting my cold today...better, but still doing toast and now getting some warm tea on my throat. I'm home with both kids today and we are just all being slow and lazy today.

I'm also a writer this week so I just had my idea approved and I need to start writing...have until Monday to get it all done.

Painting will have to wait until the weekend...I just don't feel up to it today and the next two days are supposed to be cold and rainy.

I worked out on Monday and was so excited to get back into that routine, but then got sick. Unfortunately I did abs as the strength portion and so the nausea is literally a pain in the stomach! Too funny what I get myself into!

My mom's mastectomy surgery is today so we are praying her 'through the hours' today. My brother will be there until Saturday and is setting up some home health care for next week. Wish I could be there, but I feel very confident in the docs and in the help that is surrounding her and my dad.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Hello, Melissa, why don't you put hand sanitizer on the piano and have each student use it before and after lessons.
I have been a piano teacher for 37 years, I have been good with lysol as well. I usually have 3 locations that I give lessons at, and I wipe the piano off before I teach and then after but I am about to start wiping before and after each student as well as hand sanitizer.
Take care. Blessings to all, Diana

morning everyone!

Storming here this morning. hail and high winds. Suppose to stick around til Thursday then back to upper 70's and sunny skies.

Melisa I wish you a quick recovery. I also have to say, since being put on Celcept I have been a compulsive hand washer.

Cheryl, good to see you back. Love those sweet potatoes. I just seen a recipe for sweet potato pie with pecan streusel topping for those that can't make up their mind between sweet potato or pecan pie. I just might give it a try.

I have my computer torn apart on the desk in my home office. the video card is bad I think. So I have to go buy a new one this morning. Luckily I have this laptop.

Well better run, I have to feed the animals and get some exercise in before going to the store.

Hope you all are doing well.

Have a great day all!

Rick

Ugh...woke up during the night with a fever and a head cold. That's the downside of having piano students coming into your home.
Well...back to the BRAT diet...the post-nasal drip is nauseating. No need to count calories for a few days...won't feel like eating.
Back to bed for me this morning! Hopefully some rest and cold medicine will get me functional by this afternoon. I feel bad for putting my little guy in front of the TV this morning (and with food) but it can't be helped for this day.
Take care everyone...and stay well...keep washing those hands!

Melissa you are so ambitious you remind me of what I used to be.

Cathy, I agree with Dorothy, cranberry juice pure cranberry, and a cranberry supplement wouldn't hurt either. Take care all. Blessings, Diana

Hey everyone!
A cool week ahead here in MD. And I have some painting to finish up outside. But most of the other fall clean-up is done...yay!
We went to a birthday party early Sat. morning and then to a fall festival at a local farm/park. It was really a great festival and the kids had a great time with the crafts, food, animals and demonstrations. Lot's of great things happening with the local 4-H groups and scout troups...good to be out to support them all.
I ate way too much last night...had two servings of homemade turkey pot pie, and ended up with heartburn last night. I used to get that every night, but this was the first time in months it has happened and I decided overeating wasn't worth it. Progress.
A lot happening this week so I have to keep moving!

Have a great week everyone!

You should get some cranberry juice or the cranberry pills for him. Make sure that juice is all juice and not sugar add to it. Northland is one juice that has all juice and no sugar added but be careful they do put splenda in some of their juices and you want to stay away from those juices.

Hi everyone. It's been awhile since i have been on. Maybe once in awhile over the summer. Summer is gone around here in southern Illinois. Got some sweet potatoes to dig but then no more garden. Time to catch up on all the other things in my life and one of them is keeping in touch with you all. I was reading everything but just didn't take time to post. I do pray things are getting better with everyone and i am looking forward to getting back on and catching up.
Have a good evening everyone.

Good morning!
I'm up early and heading to church, then the Gospel brunch. DH has been sick all week with bronchitis and a UTI but he wants to go to brunch today. He's getting sick of being sick and being in the house!

I've been busy cleaning the house, laundry, cooking etc. I need a break too.

Have a super Sunday, enjoy your day!
