I gathered these from CNET free downloads for Windows, as I won't have a mac till the coming fall for school. Some I've tried--and what I have I have had great luck with. I scanned briefly to see what others are focusing/working on, and tried to grab ones with those things in mind as well. I went through the first half of pages, and will later go through the second half.

As is, I think I linked to at least three programs that would apply to each person, given what needs they listed and goals.

Descriptions of each program are on the linked-to page. Several of these are good for people who spend a great deal of time at the computer.

]. I'm just making a copy of it and putting it here, so people can find them when looking for freeware/software specifically. But everything after this sentence is ALL the work of Grayarcadian.

Workrave - A desktop stretching program, enforced break program and computer use limiter all in one. It is much better than it sounds, dead simple, and available for multiple OS.

Smart Diary Suite - There is a paid version with more bells and whistles and that might be worth it, but the free version is excellent. It's a personal scheduler and task manager, but the diary feature is VERY handy. It's a small, simple program which helps track mood, fatigue levels, weather patterns even sexual activity and how your dreams are going - and it can all be password protected. Oh, and that is just the ones that come with the program. You can track others. This is handy for those suspecting there may be patterns to their behavior and mood. The extended version includes a diet tracker and other, more detailed, life factors.

Virtual Ambiance and Atmosphere lite - They play nature sounds for relaxation and mood lifting. Which one is better depends highly on what you find soothing. I have both because they are very small programs.

I-doser - Okay, this one is weird, but I have to put it on here. I'm pretty sure how much this works depends on your audio sensitivity. I'm very audio-sensitive so I found this white noise type program with "doses" of specific types of white noise to be handy for things like sleep and relaxation. You milage my vary, but for me, the "Sleeping Angel" dose is an insomnia killer. Not 100% sure the website is on the up and up, but the prices are reasonable and the research was good enough to look into more. Again, you mileage will vary.

Simple Meal - This is a program which helps track your calories. It needs a little tweaking to add your specific foods, but it does not take massive computer savvy to operate.

I will recommend avoiding anything with MB in front of it. This stuff says it's freeware. It lies. It's a free trail where you either have to go to their "gives pagans a bad name" website and make a ton of posts or pay money for usually lame software."
