At it's price, would not want to tempt fate---but I am thinking of suggesting to them that they design a waterproof one---if they can do waterproof watches, I would think that technology would translate over to that.

The FitBit is saying I am getting exercise minutes but I don't see them as exercise---did get in a 10 minute walk last night. So I still plan on putting in my fitness minutes here on Spark as it won't track my water aerobics.
Yes, planning on 1000 for January---hope to top it but that is the plan. Plan on incorporating different fitness challenges into the variety challenge for January, too. What do you think of that?

I'm at 1100+ minutes so won't hit my goal. Tomorrow is bloodwork after my physical so can't go before and have plans for after. January goal--I'm thinking 1500 minutes again. Anyone else want to set a goal or two?

I did hit 1000 exercise minutes today. Don't know if I will make the class tomorrow--have to see what time I get moving. I could go Sat to the 8:30 class--no one is up then so I could go--that class kicks my butt!

I hope to do the same---biggest loser contest at school starts when we get back---thinking of joining in---$25 to do it---last year it was more so I did not participate----but I really do want to get back on track. Plan to get back on track with some exercise this week---but today is rainy and dh is home---hard to do a workout dvd with a slug in the way and can't walk outside in the rain. sigh!

Woohoo, Cathy! I thought about asking for one of those--so I might do that for my birthday. Let me know what you think about it! I did get DD2 to go for a walk with me tonight. I will need to get moving again soon!! Come the first of the year, I will be back in the groove!

There were no classes today--but one woman still went into that room and "ran her own" class and I joined her. So I got a good 30 minute workout and 20 on the treadmill. Need more but I got some!!

Different class today--with a new teacher. Part of it was kickboxing. I will be sore tomorrow! I got in an hour and then had to go to a meeting so missed the last 15 minutes--I was still sweating bullets! I was complimented on my form for tricep dips--kept my back straight and my butt close to the step.

I don't know if I will exceed my 1250 minutes--NOT on track at this point but I will still work out!!
I'm at about 750 but won't get to the gym too much when the girls are home....

Basketball is interfering with my workouts this week---sigh---but I might try to get in a small walk before the game tonight---according to how I feel at the end of the school day. I wish there was a way to count all that baking over the weekend---my body definitely complained about it---at least I was on my feet for most of it and standing burns more calories than sitting here at the computer.

I am planning 3 days of gym this week--Monday, Wed and Thursday. If the weather is good, I will get a 3 mile walk (I'll walk to our holiday breakfast) but it may be rainy and I don't want wet and cold--cold is okay but not with wet!

And maybe he could give you some options for working out----as much as we hate to hear it, exercise often helps us stay off meds for high bp or heart things ---and losing bit of weight---I know I really need to get back to work on that part of my journey

Walking would be fine for her but with her job, know that she does not want to be on her feet after being on them all day.
I did get my walk in today---75 minutes and definitely got my heart racing---I really need to get back to doing that as I was really feeling it today---just being too sedementary lately---job is not helping!

I didn't think I had done more than the 2 hours allowed but maybe that is is. I'll have to go figure. I did get to the gym today and we REALLY worked arms. You know how your muscles feel when they are REALLY fatigued? That was the way my arms and shoulders felt. I have some definition in those muscles--wish I could get more in my thighs!!

I can't help with high blood pressure exercises but walking at a reasonable pace should be okay. And maybe some sitting arm exercises. Do ask--your doctors SHOULD have already given you options in my opinion.

And I would think they would be more specific for you---light exercise would definitely benefit you. When is your next appointment? Definitely make them answer this question---Lindie actually goes to a cardiac center for her workout where they monitor her----wonder if you would qualify for that---and getting the weight off would be a good benefit for your heart. There is actually a chair exercise video here on Spark that might work for you and you can do things at your own pace and stop if it gets too much for you.

that has never been my problem lol. Just to let you know I was in the hospital recently with a heart condition. No one will give me an answer on just what kind of exercise I can do. My heart is skipping beats. I am on two blood pressure meds and a blood thinner. They put me on light duty so I cant lift anything over 20 lbs. I went to sweep the floor at work and I became beet red, so one of my co-worker told me to stop. I want to lose weight but its hard on the blood thinner diet and very little exercise. emoticon

Think they will only allow so many minutes a day to be tracked---which is dumb---okay on the points---but if I know I am going to go over on one day--like for a yard work day---I just post some of them for a day that I did not get any or many in. It is aggrevating.

I am doing pretty well this month--but the exercise minutes reported don't add up to the same number I entered....not sure why! I have done more exercise minutes than the counter is giving me. Oh, well--if I wasn't such a nerd, it wouldn't make any difference!

If you are exercising anyway--go to www.princetonclub.net/mpc and join a team--Team Mill Haven is a good one (the food pantry my mom volunteers at--she is 76 years old). It will get food for every hour we exercise--limit of 3 hours per week. I have signed up--week runs Sunday AM to Sat night--so I just snuck in!

When you are on your feet a lot at work, it is really hard to want to workout---but good for you in planning on doing it on those days off----maybe you could check out the chair exercises here on Spark that might work out for you on the days that you work. I know when I worked at Walmart, there was just no way I was going to stay on my feet when I was off.

Good morning. I know excuses are part of trying to lose weight. I wish I didn't have any but here goes. emoticon When I work early..6-7or 8 in the morning, I don't get much sleep so its hard to get up to go to work. When I get home, my body hurts from the abuse of the job, I just don't feel like exercising. So I made a promise to myself, on my days off, to exercise. thanks for your continued support emoticon

Gardee, sounds like that Fitbit they talk about would help you with those calculations. My mom asked me what I wanted and that is what I suggested.

Doesn't have to be a challenge but I am going to try to at least tie my 1250 minutes for December. I got 100 minutes today so I'm at about 115 (don't ask about the weekend--I do better Mon-Fri).

Anyone else in?? If not, this will just be me reporting....
