Great going, gals----I missed you all the last couple of days, esp. when meeting up with other Sparklers. Maybe I will do this challenge again in August! Thanks!

I also loved the variety of challenges and would "cheat" a little and do some on a different day. As long as they got done, right? I would also be motivated to do some things I hadn't thought about in a while and try to continue them even when they weren't the challenge that day. For example, DS and I just took a trash bag full of clothes and shoes to the donation bin at the gas station.

Thanks, Dianne!

I did too, Dianne! I wasn't always able to check the daily challenge early enough in the day, but would usually get it done the next day if it was too late. I'm getting better about my list and the counters, too.

I really liked the variety of challenges--kudos the the leader and to Betsy who helped with some.

Thru these challenges, I know what I need to do (the list) and I have developed the habit of clearer counters!!

I'm going to explore my sewing room and find some summer patterns to make for myself--and some fabric to go with~

I suppose I'll have to finish a couple of project before I can start anything new, though.

Exploring....do corners of my basement count? I have boxes that need to be explored!

If nothing else, I will find a new web site or three.

Hope Cathy is exploring MI--she may get lost in that Christmas store!

I got my regular PT stretches in yesterday and added 5 more to each exercise. I have a two hour eye exam today so I may be exploring a website tonight but if Miss Ava leaves early enough I am going to try to get to a new shop I have been wanting to see.

Argh! I never did get my walk yesterday~ I waited for Jenny to call and say she was ready and then she got tied up with phone calls and then her dh got home, so we never got out the door. Today, I will walk and stretch.

Yes, stretching is good, Terri!

DD2 stayed with sleeping Ava while DH and I went over to the estate and got another vanload of "stuff," including a kitchen table and chairs he thought dd1 could use in her apartment ...in AUGUST! We now have her desk from her room, the table and 4 chairs, a wing chair, a recliner and several pieces of art we need to get to her. It looks like we will be renting a U Haul in August to get it to her but unfortunately my week off is in JULY.

Ava just left and DD2 and I need to get her set up for online banking so I must go.

I haven't gotten my walk yet today and have decidedly broken my streak. So, I'll start it over and continue from here. I'll try to jog a little bit too, since I still want to do that virtual 5k race (I think) with Dianne. I guarantee that I'll be doing plenty of stretching today too--I can't do these hills without it!

Dianne, you run enough for ALL of us so I think walking now and then is PERFECTLY acceptable :)

On Sunday the 4 of us who live here ate dinner together and all of us participated in some way by preparing to make, making and/or cleaning up after making the jam we will use for Christmas gifts this year We have a good start with 29 jars prepared!

Wisconsin people tend to be very friendly so smiling at them is easy. DD2 and I went to Wal-Mart for more jam jars and bumped into DD1's Jr. High orchestra teacher who we hadn't seen in years so we smiled at her and wound up talking to her or at least 20 minutes!

DH has off from the park today and it is nice out so we will attempt to get a walk in while Ava naps (dd2 can stay here with her.)

That's huge, Dianne! Is it a chest freezer or an upright? The chests are so much more difficult to sort through and clean out~

Spent a wonderful weekend with family and did a lot of smiling--both at family and at strangers :)

WEEK'S WORTH OF CHALLENGES
SUNDAY---do something with family(Terri, no problem for you to do this---LOL)
MONDAY--Share a smile with someone---either on Spark or in person---maybe you will brighten someone's day.
TUESDAY---Go for a walk
WEDNESDAY---do some stretches---work the kinks out.
THURSDAY---Explore---maybe a new store, go a different route for your walk, check out a new web site---whatever fits your schedule
FRIDAY--Do something fun
SATURDAY---POST HOW YOU LIKED THIS MONTH OF DIFFERENT CHALLENGES.
There will only be the one challenge for July---the one that Dianne is doing is June/july Exercise since I am away on vacation---we will have the 2 in August again. I figured since I might not get on that much this week I would take us thru the end of the month. Hope you enjoyed this adventure.

Betsy, get her something small and not cumbersome---it will be searched at every museum she goes into---and after a while, a big purse just gets to be a pain

I had fun taking dd2 out for dinner and then watching a movie with her at home. We also had fun playing with bubbles with one year old Cashton. In addition to blowing them for him, dd2 poured some on the cement and we watched him happily explore the wetness.

Today dd2 and I have many errands to do, including finding a safer purse for her to take to DC. We will get a lot of walking in and if my knee holds up, we will take an extra walk :)

I will do that but since I never got back to the computer yesterday I wanted to report that I took a trash bag full of clothing to a receptacle at our gas station that encourages "recycling" of clothing. I believe it said 18 million pounds (tons?) of reusable goods are put into landfills each year and donations of clothes and shoes will help eliminate all that wasting while helping people in need. I like Dianne's charity too and hope she does well at her sale.

I bagged up some of my "too big" (hurray!) clothes for GoodWill. I'll take them next time I have to go out.

I also shared some arugula from my garden with my neighbors. I'm the only one in my house that eats it and the neighbors have bunnies that I'm pretty sure don't always get as much food as they would like.

I found a place that is looking for "career clothes" and I have several dresses, nice pants, etc so I will get them bundled up and drop them off there--bundling I can do today, dropping I will do by Friday!

I will be doing a garage sale in July. Some things will have prices to be sold but LOTS of things will be out "for donation" to Operation Quiet Comfort. This group provides "go bags" of flip lops, toiletries, note paper, etc to wounded soldiers. They get taken to a hospital and sometimes their stuff doesn't catch up with them for ages. So these are provided to them--along with good coffee etc for the folks that work in the hospitals. Any donations I get would go to this group. It will be win-win--I'll get stuff out of my house, they will get a donation, people will (hopefully) feel good about helping and take more/give something!

WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE: Do something for someone less fortunate than you are today. You could donate a food item to a pantry, a personal item to a shelter or perhaps a gently used clothing item ( or more than one if you have them) to somewhere like Goodwill, Salvation Army or Clothe My People. These are just ideas, you can come up with your own if you would like. I would love to hear what you did.

I regularly thank my heavenly Father! I'm also thankful that my sons and son-in-law are all good fathers to my grandchildren--DH has been such a great example to all of them!

We had a reception for the outgoing pastor today--his last day. Enjoyed visiting with folks at the reception and got to talk with a gentleman who never had any children of his own but he teaches driver's education--I told him he is like a father to many of those kids he teaches--and likely saves some father/child relationships!

Also thanked God that I still have my dad...

SUNDAY'S CHALLENGE---Thank a Father today---esp. your heavenly one.
Yesterday I took some of the cake I baked down to my neighbor's house and sat and chatted with her for a bit.

I have heard from Claire recently on status board---March seems like a busy person so she has probably just kind of dropped. And Heather seemed to have dropped us shortly after coming on board---think she had found another team that suited her better---but it did not last either. Sad when people disappear.

I've been thinking about Heather, Clair and March lately. Clair had updated her status recently, though.

Today, I went up to DD's and ended up helping dgd, Shelby, clean her disgusting bedroom! I deserve a medal--but I'm settling for a glass of wine :)

Just checked and she has not updated her status in 58 days---if you skim over your friend avatars, it shows how long it has been since they did that. About once or twice a year I go over my friend's list and delete those who are not active anymore unless I have a special tie-in with them.

You know, I have not seen anything on my friend feed about her in a while---just realized that. If you want, go to my Spark page and click on my friends and get to her that way---sending her a Miss you goodie might bring her back---I did that in the past and it worked.

Yesterday I was searching for Heather but gave up after scrolling through 10 pages or so of team members. Does anyone know if she is still with us? I wound up sending a Spark Mailer to another team member who I had forgotten joined us and did post actively for a bit.

We will be out and about today so the new challenge should be easy. I am anxious to hear about random acts of kindness that all of you decide to do today.
