Nothing has changed with my medications so far, but if I find I need an adjustment it will mean a total shake up of my psychiatric medicines because I start to drool in public at 1mg more of Risperdal than I am currently on, which means my body doesn't tolerate it at the higher doses.

Sooo.. a lot has happened since last year.. around the same time I posted last year, we did labs on my blood, and my blood work came back pretty severely anemic. This would of course impact mood, fatigue, and motivation. Since September I've been trying to get my iron up. Recently I ran out of iron pills, I was going to see my doctor when that happened but I'm in spend-down and couldn't. So I just went without iron while I straighten this out. Well about 13 or 14 days ago I had to go home from my volunteer work because I was too tired to continue. I realized that this was more severe than a behavioral problem. The next day Roger and I went to Super Supplements and picked up iron tablets. This time the iron tablets themselves have everything they need to help the iron be absorbed and used in the body. They also have the iron in chelated form. This is supposed to be better absorbed than the Ferrous sulfate I was on, or even the Ferrous glutamate that my parents wanted me to get from the drug store. It was a little more pricey at 11.80 for a month supply rather than 2 month supply from the drug store, but Roger said if it helped me stay up we could take it out of the household budget rather than my allowance. We took it out of my allowance this month because we'd already spent our budget for the month when we decided I needed it.

I just saw my med provider. They went ahead and saw me even though I was on spend down and they can't bill for it, because they are booked 3 months solid and wouldn't be able to reschedule me, which would mean an interruption in my meds, which eventually would mean I wouldn't be okay, but initially people probably wouldn't notice.

A big point with the med provider previously was my unstructured time in the summer, so we were going to come up with a plan this spring, probably to volunteer. Well between new friends and a new game HabitRPG.com www.habitrpg.com and the iron, she thinks I'm doing great and just to keep it up! I don't intend to volunteer over summer and not until September. I am going to use my 2 months and a week (maybe, Mom may have to go in next week and I told her if she goes in I will even though I don't want to) of vacation to catch up on the house and watch some Netflix and Crunchyroll with Roger!! (my SO)

We are watching my mild depression against the possibility of it worsening. If it gets worse, then I may end up trying out other anti-depressants.

My meds are pretty much the same as before, the only other difference being that I've started taking Benedryl OTC as a sleep prn (I've had it prescribed in the same dosage as a sleep aid before so I know its okay)

I'm on Abilify 15mg.

I bounce my leg half the time, like I'm jones'n for a smoke or something! I hate it, but the therapist says I should have a different perspective that it makes me feel better, and that's a good thing.

well... :/

I went down in medication from 6mg Risperdal to 5mg at night because I was starting to drool and experience occational muscle twitches. It was getting worse rather than better so we dropped a little and the rest of my meds stayed the same. No more drooling. So I am relieved. I was worried what they were going to say at the school that I volunteer at if it continued past the summer.

So my other medications are:
Wellbutrin 300mg (antidepressant)
Lexapro 20 mg (antidepressant, anti-anxiety)
Prilosec 40mg (stomach med)
Albeuterol (rescue inhaler [&before exercise inhaler])
Flovent (steroid inhaler for asthma)

I went to the doctor the other day and he switched me to Tegretol (carbamazepine)-100mg at bedtime. I don't have time to eat after I take them!! It kicks my butt!!! LOL And I've been sleeping from 10:30 pm to around noon. UGH!!! But, I'm not eating....LOL. Hopefully, I'll get used to it soon!!

Maybe have fresh veggies handy to snack on at night? I used to buy veggie trays, and they're good with the ranch-style dip. Or maybe a lower-calorie dip would be good, like honey mustard. I used to buy veggie trays when I took Zyprexa, because it gave me that trouble. Now I take Abilify, and have that trouble less often.
