Great link, Yvonne! I'm gonna see if my niece would like to post that link on her facebook page. Since belly fat is a risk condition, I have that, for sure! Need to get that belly fat off! (I'm working on it!)

Thanks for passing this on. Belly fat is a risk factor for diabetes and many other diseases. Please take a look at the book "Wheatbelly" to learn more as well. High-carb foods like grains including all whole grains and all kinds of legumes will increase insulin production and insulin will cause calories to be stored as fat rather than burned for energy. This is why I believe a low-carb diet is the only thing that will help keep the weight off, especially belly fat. Even eating too much fruit, in particular tropical fruit, can have very negative effects.
It is possible to it mostly or all raw and eat a low-carb and high (healthy) fat diet, it is even possible to eat vegan. Fat in the diet, except for some polyunsaturated fats, does not translate to weight on our body nor does it contribute to heart disease. Heart disease is caused by inflammation, not by high cholesterol levels.
Diabetes and belly fat, on the other hand, is a major risk factor for heart disease.
