Happy Monday everyone! Its nice to have a day off from work. was able to get right with my program so I will have no excuses! today was week 4 day 3 for me. I doubled up on the arm sculpt video today. Making a big fruit salad and Chef Megs slow cooker salsa chicken for dinner tonight. I am hoping this motivated feeling sticks with me for the rest of the week!

Week 4 day 1... as far as a long term goal after this, i think it will be to keep myself motivated, this challenge motivates me but afterwards i'm going to need to find something to stay motivated.
Maybe i'll allow myself a day off each month to go clubbing and eat whatever for sticking to my exercise and food plans :-)

Today was still a challenge. I really didn't want to exercise today, but forced my self to do it. I got ready and went to the pool, only to find it was closed for repairs. OK plan B, I came home and did the resistance bands workout. Still need to do cardio. I plan to work out with the exercise bike tonight.

week 4 day 2..... tracking food daily, amped up my cardio by using theraband for resistance ex. while I am walking. Just doubled up my lower body sculpt video today.
Long time exercise goal....I didnt want to put an amount or number of ex, or days that I will do them, I think my goal is just keeping consistent and trying to fit in as much exercise as I can. I know there are going to be days when i can do an hour of cardio but I also know there will be days where I will only be able to squeeze in 10 minutes. I want to feel successful as well as healthy and strong, and I dont want to beat myself up by putting a number out there that some weeks I can not attain.

Just finished! Earned my trophy! This was a wonderful way to "jump start" my new lifestyle! I LOVED the videos! I started this challenge first thing when I joined Spark and I am excited to say that I lost 15 pounds during this past month AND I feel better! More energized, better mood. Still a long way to go, but thank you to Spark for putting together this challenge!
Best of luck to all my fellow Sparkers!!!

Finished my last video and cardio this morning for the program but this jump start has me going onto another exercise that one of the trainers set up for me at the gym. I'm also going to look at some other Coach Nichole videos on Spark to get some other ideas and variety.
Forgive me if I'm patting myself on my own back!

I seem to have hit a plateau. I had hoped that this challenge would help me break past it, but I have been stuck at the same weight for almost a month now. It was still fun and I like having the extra motivation to do something physical every day.
I have decided to set a couple of long term goals.
1. I want to improve my time for my daily walk/jogs, which is currently 29 minutes 50 seconds. I think that I can maybe shave a minute off that time if I can build up my endurance so I can jog longer.
2. I want to improve my time for doing laps. I have already noticed a slight improvement just in the few weeks that I have been swimming, but I think I can improve my speed for when I do sets of laps (one each of crawl, breast stroke, & back stroke). I originally took my 5 minutes to do all three, now I can do them in about 4 and a half minutes. If I can get that down to 4 minutes then I might be able to squeeze in an additional set during my swims.

Hiya outofashes; I just read what you wrote of not having enough energy, so wanted to share this...
I do think there might be something else disturbing your energy.. My daughter used to feel tired all the time aswell..
When she finally got to the doctor and told all her symptons; he tested her for a desease they call here (vijver desease) translated is (tiny lake desease) with no entrance to a river or canal...caused by insects... can also be a swampy area or even lingers in a area of trees..
There is no cure but only no stress and get enough rest, dont overdo things; it takes a year sometimes longer to get better.. I'm not suggesting you have this, but often there are more things to prolonged tiredness, & low energy. By combining vit B and C through food or supplements will make your energy level better if due to food... If not please go get a check at the doctor, because the longer its not diagnosed the longer it takes to cure... Hopefully its not this insect.. and that you get on track soon with your energy.. lots of success & goodluck in your goals tisha

I mostly walk and do the chair workouts because I only have 22% airflow. But I'm moving and feeling much better. The strength training from a chair is great for me. Feel kind of sad when I watch the jumprope and high impact stuff. It looks so fun but my blood pressure goes up to 212/110 if I do anything other than walking and I don't want to hurt myself.

I just love the videos. I am also using the 28 bootcamp workouts. These videos are the best. The cardio burst is the most difficult for me. I think that is because of my knee problem. I still do the best I can. There are times that I just march and use my arms, but I do the 12 min. or so. I know when I am finished I have worked up a sweat.

Thank you WIIMII9726 and LOTUSBURGER! My workouts have gotten a lot better. I think that I was eating the wrong things and my motivation was a little askew. I was depressed and I was definitely having a bad week. With that said, I have cleaned up my nutrition (no more cookies) and I am working towards some non-scale goals. Lately I have been going until I feel the "runner's high" and that seems to be working for me to keep exercising. I am working towards a 5k now that my January Jumpstart is coming to an end. It's amazing to go from lying down to walking to jogging and hopefully soon to running--all in a month! Crazy! Update-I'm Done! It's a great feeling!

I had to adjust how hard I was working out. When I started my work outs again I was trying really hard to run but, my body couldn't handle it. I was so sore and tired all the time.
After I adjusted my work out by slowing down to a fast walk/jog I am burning more calories and I have a lot more energy.

Take it from experience please don't stop. Many days I felt like that at first but it seems to have gotten better since I keep at it. It seems as though it's the extra weight we carry around that has gotten us to the point of exhaustion. Maybe you are low in iron so wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to your doctor about how you feel. When I have been depressed I also would feel like you do. This is another start for me and will be able to succeed if I just keep up the work that is being done to better my life. The exercising is what I have the hardest part to keep up with. As far as health goes my eating habits have made it into a life style change. Take care of yourself and give me a holler if you need someone to chat with........
Take care Jolene

It is so hard to workout every day. Does anyone else feel tired all the time? I have to roll myself out of bed in the morning, and stagger into work. After each workout that I do, my recovery time is getting longer and longer. I was just at the gym for an hour, and I'm so tired that I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open right now. I'd like nothing more than to stay in bed all day and sleep. Uuhhhhh! What should I do to get my energy back up? I'm worried that once I complete this challenge, I'll have no excuse to keep moving. Or should I take a break after it's over and give myself some time before trying to do something else?

After having to start this week over twice, I have finally finished this challenge. The videos were challenging, but I felt like I was using muscles and strengthening them so I'll look more trim. I believe I will use these videos after my cardio workouts for some extra toning.

I am starting week 6 even though my first 2 weeks were not anything I could do to prevent (so could week 4 lol). My week 5 was not as productive since I was sick Mon and Tues and Fri had unexpected company. I will be at the gym all 5 days this week one way or another. My honey had best take me out for Valentines Day so will have to put in extra time. Also his size zero mother wants us to meet at a Buffet on Thurs. but with meeting there by 3 should be able to get home and have a chance to shed the pounds either a bike ride or getting the wii out. If weather permitting a nice walk would work too. Everyone is doing well and I hope we can all keep up the good work. Jolene

Despite setbacks this month I'm still focused and haven't thrown in the towel. I think this is the longest duration of really staying focused...even when I've had a bad day or week where my SP goals has remained a constant. I've signed up to run the Warrior Dash in June so some of my team wants to run some normal 5Ks as training. I plan on signing up for a 5K for next month...so better stop SPing and start running!!

Starting week 4. I've been doing 3 miles (Walk Away The Pounds) every night unless I speedwalk the hills in our neighborhood, plus the videos from the challenge. I feel very strong. I also have not really lost any, but I know I need to cut out sugar and starches. That will be the real challenge. If only I could eat well 6 days out of the week :( I think I'll make that my next challenge, plus keep doing the exercise. Thanks SP for helping all of us :)

One thing this challenge has taught me is that the more I do the same schedule, the better I am at it and the more I want to do. So just start again until you find something else that motivates you!
Carve out what is most important to you first, then allocate your day to others! I promise you and they will be better for this decision!!

5 more days to go! Now I need to think about my "what's next" strategy, because I have to admit that my motivation to get moving is to finish that challenge... that keeps me going more than the thought of a lean body - that goal seems so far in the distance...
