Have I lost a day somewhere? Should be w4d6. Anyway, did video this AM though I sure didn't want to. But neither did I want to get behind on next to last day. On Mar 1st, I start a different challenge after doing this one for Jan & Feb.

W4D1 - Even though the temperature here dipped down to 39 I still went out for my run/walk and did 38 minutes. I also did a stretching video today.

Although I won't be making my weight loss goals I have lost inches and I'm happy with that change. I look forward to finishing this challenge and plan on looking for another challenge to help me keep my momentum going!

I completed the videos but only had one day where I was able to do one twice. I plan on working through them again. This is my weekend off so hoping to dbl up on the videos then. Depending if my son and his friends show up again and if they go away during the day so I have alone time to do these. Today I completed the last two days and did a bonus video: 10 minute Bootcamp workout. My knee gives me problems so haven't been getting on the treadmill. I walk at work but only have time for a short one.
I still never got the last email of WK4. Would still like to get that in my email so I can save it with the other 3. Keep up the good work all.
I am down 5 lbs this mth. To me that is an accomplishment in itself. That and exercising regularly for the past 3+ mths is an even better feeling.

Half way through the final week and even though I didn't lose as much as I had hoped, I have made some very positive changes in my life. I workout daily for at least 1 hour and drink 8+ glasses of water a day. For me, that's huge! I've also been faithful about counting my calories and making healthy good choices (most of the time). I'm still committed to my goal of losing 40 lbs by my 40th birthday this June!! This is a lifestyle change and I have to give myself time to see the result over the long haul and realize it's not going to happen over night.

This was a great challenge, I enjoyed it and it added a lot to my routine. Even though I finished the challenge a couple of days ago I plan to continue doing the videos for now. My next fitness goal is to move up to 15 lb. dumbbells by the end of February.

This challenge helped me accomplish something I haven't been able to do in 4 years. I ran a 5K in 40 minutes. For many this may sound slow, but for me that is fast. I have been wogging (run 4 minutes, walk 2 minutes). Making my 5K take over 45 minutes. I wogged every other day in January; 3 miles almost everytime. On Saturday, February 1st, I walked my first 4 minutes for warm up. I then proceeded to run the entire 5K at 13:20 pace. At 35 minutes I knew I had enough "gas in the tank" to up the pace. I ran 2 minutes @ 5.0, then 1 minute at 5.5, & finished it off with 2 minutes @ 6.0. I am elated & am looking forward to upping my game in February.

So thank you for having this January Jumpstart Fitness Challenge!

Completed 2-Chicago Marathons, 4-Rock N Roll Half Marathons, 1-Monster Dash Half Marathon, 2-Soldier Field 10 Milers, 2-Shamrock Shuffles & multiple 5K & 10K races.

Finished the challenge and so glad I found it. It was so helpful to have a plan for getting active again. Am going to continue with the Couch to 5k running plan to keep me going until spring and then we will see what's next! Thanks, Spark People!

Finished today, two days behind schedule but feeling good. I've realized that I'm extremely checklist/visually oriented so tomorrow I am buying a "old-school" white board (tachnology doesn't give me the same feeling of accomplishment) and listing goal workouts for the month or week (haven't decided yet). Then I will check them off as I go. Loved this challenge, now on to eating right...

I lost .5 kilos. Was hoping for 1 kilo, but I'll take it!

Today, I did:
20 min fat blaster
20 min video with dumbbells

How to Hack SparkPeople Exercise Videos

This is what worked for me:

I started with the seated videos, because I was overweight, in poor shape, and have a bad knee. I substituted or changed exercises if there was something I couldn't do or that hurt me to do.

I tried to do what the instructor did, but let go of frustration because no novices act like experts on the first try--or the sixth try, even.

I then worked it into 3 videos--cardio, abs, and dumbbells. I used low weights and built my way up, as the bigger weights left me gasping.

I also changed out videos as I mastered them, finding favorite videos and favorite moves. I substituted favorite moves for those the instructor did that I could not do. As long as I was sweating, I figured I was doing okay. I also tried new things like Pilates an yoga.

I'm now on a new form of exercise that has me doing things that use two muscle groups at the same time. It makes my workouts more intense, and I'm losing weight faster, feeling stronger, and having far more energy during the day. Some of the SparkPeople videos do this, such as the 20 minute fat blaster. I hope they post more videos like this! I am still substituting favorite exercises for those I can't do. I spent nearly a year working my way up to these.

I finished up the challenge tonight! Still working on my eating, but I am down from holiday weight of 165 to 157 so I say that is pretty good. I missed completing this challenge last year because I got sick, but not this time around!! Whooohooo!

I finished this challenge and I'm happy to say that I made it one pound below my goal weight. I think that I am losing weight more because of my stomach issues also. The past couple of days have been a real challenge just to eat properly. I'll be looking for another team to join. Maybe one that does not emphasis using the Spark videos as much.

Tomorrow will be my last day with the ab video that I love and the killer speed skate session. I've lost, at my best, 9 pounds this month alone. Thank you. I had to take a break from the challenge for a bit - I was putting in 10 - 12 hour work days leading up to a deadline and exercising too late at night was keeping me from sleeping. But the report was submitted today and work is returning to its normal 4.5/5 rather than the 6/5 we've had for the last week so I will be restarting week 4 tomorrow.

I'm started to do the un-modified versions of exercises emoticon However I've gained back two pounds although I 'm sticking with the lowered calorie intake & working out.. Why emoticon Not giving up!

I would have hoped to work harder this week. However, I did not feel well quite a bit of the time. I am still getting used to having issues with my stomach. After I ate breakfast this morning, I had a lot of energy. I started exercising but about 1/2 hour into it, my stomach started hurting. I guess I have to eat afterward...or maybe wait a little after eating. I'm going to look into learning more about it. Probably, I'll go back to the doctor soon. I'm glad I didn't give up though.

I am finishing week 4 today. I have learned that I actually enjoy exercise, it is just that I have to make myself get up and do it. Making sure that there is a variety of exercise in my routine will be an absolute essential for me in the future. I thrive on challenge. So my exercising must be challenging to me but not impossible. I am looking forward to doing the 28 day boot camp video with Nicole. I have had a lot of fun with this challenge.

Now, on to another one.

week 4 day 6. done!! Tomorrow is my last day. Congrats to all of our winners for this months challenge! I started 6 days late. I had to nurse some awful dog bite injuries. all is well and healed up now.

Yesterday, finished Week 4 & the Official January Jumpstart Fitness Challenge STRONG!! Will do 2 days of "free-style" workouts & cardio, & looking forward to starting the Official 28-Day Bootcamp Workout Challenge on Saturday, February 1st! emoticon

This is day seven of week four for me. I won't be able to check the box for this final week. I totally missed yesterday. I wonder if I could do this whole week over so I could check the box, or do I have to start the whole four week challenge again? I will finish today, though. I have not lost weight on this challenge, but have gained a new attitude toward toning and strengthening. I have found an all over toning and stretching plan that I could do daily. I've tried some different videos and feel really good about this challenge.

Did 8 minute arm toning video twice. A lot harder the second time.

Completed 2-Chicago Marathons, 4-Rock N Roll Half Marathons, 1-Monster Dash Half Marathon, 2-Soldier Field 10 Milers, 2-Shamrock Shuffles & multiple 5K & 10K races.

Finished the challenge and lost 7 lbs. in the past 28 days. A few days off and then on to a 28 day boot camp for Spring into Shape. Awesome way to stay motivated and keep the pounds melting away.

END of Week 4. Have had a great time with the Jan. Jumpstart. Worked hard at the videos each day, which were added onto a cardio program already in place. Lost another 2 pounds - Just under my goal weight. (It'll give me some leeway for daily living).
Couldn't find a Walmart carrying 28 Day DVD with Coach Nicole, so had to order it through the mail. Am going to take a day or so off before I jump into it. Look out, February!

Feel bad that I couldn't keep my mind on it. Hubby was in for surgery and I am the "nurse" right now. On the bright side, I managed to keep everything else in "check" somehow. Just wish I could finish but I'll keep plugging away

I have 3 days left. This has been an interesting challenge for me. I never thought of doing an exercise video every single day of the week, mostly because I hate exercise. This has not been bad though. I could see myself continuing. Not the 1st video on the list though, I really dislike that one!
