Feeling depressed, as I'm behind once again. Did a 58 minute yoga video today, but I miss real heart starting cardio. I feel like every time I get into a pattern and start to enjoy it, something gets in the way. I know I'll be able to get back to it soon, so shouldn't be discouraged. Good luck with your weekends, everyone! And happy Australia Day to the other aussies! emoticon

Finished Week 3 today! emoticon A day earlier than I planned. I have gotten at least 5 fruits and veggies this week, but a few days were down to the wire. My meal plan has them in there, I just haven't been great about following my plan.

I got in a couple of extra cardio Walk Away the Pounds videos this week, in addition to my outdoor walks, and trips to the gym for the treadmill.

One more week to go, and hopefully, the new habits will stick around!

Argh. I have some catching up to do.

Yesterday I failed to do upper body workout bit because I forgot I took the weight equipment home last week.

Today turned out to be "Meeting Day", so other than meetings I was not able to set aside time during the day to do my actual work work let alone my work out and catch up from yesterday.

To boot, I ended up staying late today to catch up on work work.

I did attempt to compensate a bit for the lack of activity by jogging every other block home, instead of the walking thing I usually do.

So, stuff happens from time to time -- try not to let it get in the way habitually, right?

I LOVE Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds! I feel like I'm accomplishing SOMETHING, even though it's not showing right now. I just wish she could help me with getting my fruits and veggies for the day. Ugh! That is the toughest thing for me, I don't know why. I love drinking water and I love the exercising. It's the eating that is hard for me. I want to eat all day long and I crave sweets. But, I am determined to get this weight off. Best wishes to everyone out there. emoticon

Good day today. Still on track. Added 2 cardio videos to my regular workout. They were tougher than I thought they would be. It shows I need to up the ante. I need to increase the intensity of my cardio workouts on a daily basis without overdoing it . I don't want to become so tired that I lose the fun and excitement that I now experience. I have burned myself out many times before and I am not going back there. Easy does it.

Cold here in NH also- wind is howling outside my house and just walking to my car after work was all the exposure I wanted to the cold. Have been doing well this week- have done the videos three times each day except today only did the seated core work out twice through. Maybe I will do the third time through before bed - Continuing to keep track of all my food and are getting in all my fruits and veggies!!The challenge has gotten me to do more work with strength training and also work on my core which I usually neglect. emoticon

I wasn't sure if I would manage to exercise today, but I'm so glad I did. I played catch up today from not doing exercise video yesterday. I did lower body and abs videos today and then went for a walk with my dogs. And like others that have posted, I'm feeling tired this week too. I know that must mean I'm working my body harder! I haven't seen weight loss on the scale this week and that's ok bc i know I'm gaining muscle. My husband is noticing a change so that definitely helps with an ego boost!

Not the best day. I had to do things in spurts as I was busy with work and handling some problems with my son's school. I did about 30 minutes of cleaning my downstairs floor and kitchen. Did a hard core boot camp video for 10 minutes and a 10 minute abs core video. Hope I did enough but it will have to do for today. Will do better tomorrow.

Week three is kicking my butt. I'm so tired! I've been getting in 30 hard-core minutes of cardio every day this week (so far) plus riding my bike commuting to and from work (don't really count that as my cardio) I've done one video each day except yesterday I went to a full hour long pilates class, that was really fun and an enjoyable change to my current routine. Trying to eat healthy but I'm a sucker for chocolate and tortilla chips (not together).

Well, I have struggled and limped along during this challenge so far! I could be at a 10 pound loss but instead I have lost 7 pounds as of this morning. BUT, I am so happy to be down 7 pounds finally and it is inspiring me to keep going! In retrospect, I have struggled with my hip bothering me a lot and will need to get in to have it rechecked before too much longer IF it doesn't get better. I also didn't pay much attention to the videos on days when I couldn't get to the health center where I work out SO I have to rectify this. I am a social exerciser I realize but now feel I can enjoy the solo exercises as well as it can be a positive change that doesn't rely on other people being involved. I am in this for the health changes, knowledge that I have not FAILED at this one issue, and feeling that I am at my best despite my age.
I have read some of the other comments and WOW! you go people--many of you are doing really well and I pray we all keep our committment this year and stay with the kick-start momentum!! Best of luck to all of you!

So this week has been crazy I have had to change my routine a little bit. Monday I had to get hormone pellets and was told not to exercise for a week all I have been allowed to do is walk without an incline. So... I have done just that, walking at a pace of 3.5 for 2 hrs a day. I am going crazy and can't wait to finish my last week of the challenge strong. I have been doing really well with my calories and though the scale hasn't changed much I can tell by inches lost and my energy level that I have improved a lot of the course up just three weeks.

Week 3

Sunday (day 1) - Consumed 8 glasses of water, stayed within my calorie range, but didn't do one single exercise.

Monday (day 2) - This should be renamed Sunday, part 2 plus 2 chunky chocolate chip cookies. UGH!

Tuesday (day 3) - 69 Fitness Minutes....Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday's video's PLUS 40 minutes on the treadmill. On the treadmill was able to add a 4.0 incline for 7 minutes and I increased my walking speed to a jog at 4.2 for 3 or 4 minutes.

Wednesday (day 4) - I will work hard for the remainder of the week in order to meet the goals I set for myself. It has been a BUSY day. I weighed in today......11 pounds lost!

I am doing my HAPPY DANCE!

This challenge has been extremely beneficial to me in so many ways. I am glad to be a participant.

With my schedule its often difficult to impossible to get the videos in. I failed my first attempt at week 3 last week. I am trying to keep afloat this week but have had to do the first three videos tonight. Whew - what work! I am sore. I am tired. But I sure feel invigorated. For someone that's been overweight for as long as I have been, I can't believe I am falling in love with sweating my rear off! Thank you SparkPeople.

Week Day 4...I'm hanging in there...I've been in a company training session and the schedule runs from 7 am until 9 pm every day. I've been able to squeeze in at least 30 minutes of fast walking for cardio each day, but will have to catch up on a few videos at the end of the week. Today I got in 40 minutes of Zumba and one of the videos and it feels good! I've been missing my workout time. Eating fruits and veggies, and tracking it all (within the limits, amazingly enough), it seems our company ordered the healthier options for all the buffets, so that's been a big help (no tempting desserts, just yogurt and fruit, etc.).

Week 3, Day 4, and I'm still going! I think the longest I've ever stayed focused before was for about a month, and I'm pretty sure that's only happened once! Now here I am, halfway through the 3rd week and more motivated than ever! Even though I'm not feeling 100 percent today, I'm looking forward to going to the gym tonight, and I'm not sure that's ever happened before!

Finally caught up with my videos. Had to do three today since we've been painting so much and washing woodwork, I've been to exhausted to do the videos upon returning home. I never knew you could burn so many calories painting! Lost weight through it all, so that's a plus! One more week to go!

Not too bad today. I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the treadmill with an incline. I did 7 minutes on the stationary bike. I worked on my legs on the machines, leg press, leg curls and let press. I did 10 minutes twice doing the Yoga Fusion video. Not bad today. emoticon

Had to babysit from Sunday until Tuesday so no computer access. I could not do my exercises. Did chase after a dog on Monday that kept running out into the street. My granddaughter was finally able to get the dog into the house but I was frozen because I didn't have my coat on. I never want to do that again. I did try to stick to nutritional meals but could not resist the Toll House cookies or the red velvet cupcake. I did scrape off most of the icing on the cupcake.

I did not feel like doing any exercise today. In fact, I had called it a rest day, and was really looking forward to my mum's shepherd's pie. But I felt a bit jumpy, so I did the core challenge workout. Then I did the upper body sculpt. They did 13 mins on my bike on a higher intensity than normal. Instead of a big plate of shepherd's pie, I made a nice big salad with smoked paprika and cumin roasted chickpeas (my new fave snack and salad topper!), and had a small amount of shepherd's pie with steamed veggies on the side. Even though I didn't burn my usual 300 calories, I'm calling today a success. Especially as I planned to pig out and veg out. emoticon

Well I completed all 7 of Coach Nicole's Video's today. I also did 25 mins. on my treadmill and did 4 reps of 12 lifting weights. Haven't been on a treadmill in quite awhile so felt the time that was spent on there was plenty. The incline was halfway and it doesn't show what the incline actually is and for awhile I had it on full incline. My continuing to make it to the Wellness Center has kept me on a stationary bike for now but plan on trying the Elliptical again. My challenge there gives me bonus pts for doing over 30 mins. of cardio so been trying to do just that. I have already incorporated the fruits and vegys into my diet so that was not a problem to complete. As for my plans for next month I have saved the Challenges to a separate folder so plan to continue working on them along with adding other videos too. I would love to buy the Full body video but kinda broke right now. That and I would love to get a Yoga Mat to make the floor exercises more comfortable. Have to wait a few mths till I can get other bills paid. That video would definitely be a plus to have along with my other workouts. Oh well for now I will use the other videos and the ones I have here.

Keep up the good work everyone. I will be rooting for ya. Had best get showered so I can get to bed. Very tired at least I got alot done today.

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.

Week three and I am still here. I haven't done a this before so I am really proud of myself for continuing with the workouts and challenges . I am keeping the focus on working out daily rather than the amount of minutes I can rack up . I have a moderate minimum that I will not go below and if I increase the amount and intensity slowly and maintain it then I feel that I can sustain it over a long period of time. I am also experimenting with a variety of exercises In all levels of activity from cardio, to strength straining and flexibility. This I find keeps it interesting.
One day at a time. Today was a good day and I am on track.

I'm still learning how to use this website haha. I have been doing good but this past weekend was my birthday so I didn't eat all that healthy. I'm back on track now so far I lost 3 pounds but I would like to work myself harder.

Working my work outs on a daily basis. Feeling good, but I'm eating too much. Need to fix that now.

Have a great one!

Day 2; Week 3 - Did the arm video today instead of the lower body one. But also did 60 minutes of aerobics and 20 minutes of arm exercises. Will do the lower body tomorrow.

Rosa I would be careful going to low on calories. A person is not to go lower than 1000 cals in any given day. It actually could cause you to gain weight.

I just starting week 3. Today I went to the gym and walked a steady 30 minutes at 3mph. I usually average about 2.5 mph. I would not have kicked the speed up if it weren't for this challenge.

Thanks!

I started week 3 yesterday with the video and a 3-mile walk with my dogs (that's up from about 2.5 mi). I plan to stick with longer walks for the rest of the week for my extra cardio and continue with indoor bike training. Still working on drinking plenty of water--that's always so hard for me! Still enjoying the videos and already feeling stronger--my younger daughter even noticed when I picked her up the other day. emoticon emoticon

It's been a good day today. I started "The fast diet" yesterday which involves 'fasting' on 500 calories two non-consecutive days a week. Yesterday was the first fast day and it went very well. I ate a healthy breakfast and evening meal but restricted myself to veggies, fruit and chicken. I felt a bit hungry in the afternoon and evening, but worked my way through that by being busy and slept well. This morning I had dropped 2 lbs and feel it is going to work well if it continues like this. Today I've walked and exercised and kept within my calories, so it's great.

This is day 2 of week three, going well so far. I lost 6.5 pounds and I feel like I am getting stronger. I will work hard to kick up my cardio this week.
