After taking a too-long break from this challenge, I am back into week 3. I did not want to totally give up. So, here I am. I have not lost any weight (no big surprise.) But, I haven't gained any, either. Working at it & pushing through. I'm in it to win it.
Finished week 3, little late due to illness last week, but I'm back on track. I think I'll do double videos today and start Week 4. Great job everyone!

Had to restart Week 3 thanks to business travel. Usually, I'm able to fit in exercise while on travel, but this time the days were super long and I wasn't getting back to the hotel until after 8pm every night. After missing 4 days, I wanted to restart instead of trying to cram all of the workouts in before the start of week 4. Better do it right!

Last day of week 3. Lost a few pounds in the last few weeks, but what matters most is my tight jeans aren't tight anymore. I have more energy and am feeling alot better. Almost human lol. I'm still trying to meet the calories but with all the exercising I've noticed I'm more hungry and not craving as many sweets. Upped my cardio to between 30 minutes and 40 minutes 6 days a week and 3 days of strength training. Am ready for week 4!

I am seeing great results. I am getting stronger and slimming down. I don't weigh myself weekly, so I am only going by the changes that I see and feel. I know this is going to be a successful year for me. Thanks Sparkpeople!

I gave up on this challenge this week... not on being healthy but on tracking everything. I am not willing to put all the time in that it takes to track everything. I will still use the videos though. I like the idea of getting up and doing a short workout - it starts the day right, gets my body moving and doesn't take much time.

Just finished up my redo of week 3 and feel awesome: super strong! Food is still an issue, so I'm not losing like I'd like to. Definitely am seeing a lost more definition though, so that's good. I've gotten into some bad habits with my DH's new work schedule, so I'm thinking of adding the healthy family challenge again to get us back on track.

Day 6 down. I walked 2 miles again today in 45 minutes. Did the first half in intervals. Did one video and my ab workout. Boy am I tired today. But, it was so well worth it. I just wish I didn't have to fight myself to get exercise in everyday. It is really ridiculous.

Day 4 of Week 3 done. Got a day behind yesterday. Ended up sleeping in missing my workout and then doing my taxes during my free time at night, but honestly needed the day off. Six days of cardio a week (with P90x) made me a bit rickety, but I started today with Kenpo X (kickboxing) and feel great. I really love kickboxing and when I'm done with the P90X program want to maybe join a class. I love the way the moves look and it feels empowering as a woman to "kick some butt". Made up the spark video from yesterday along with today's also. Going to workout tomorrow and Sunday morning. Can't wait for the week to be over so I can start week 4 :) Keep on keeping on everybody!

Pertnisplan,
Hi! Have you ever tried one of Leslie Sansone's walk at home dvd's? They are great for beginners to advanced walkers as you set your own pace and miles, and build up and on as you go. When I started back up last year after an ankle injury, I was only able to do about a 1/2 mile, then I started doing a 1/2 in the morning, then again in the evening. I slowly built up to a mile a day. Now I'm able to do the 3-4 mile dvd's. Still a work in progress, but I'm getting there. It was definitely all baby steps! Good Luck !

Well today was a good day. I worked out for over an hour. I did 45 minutes on my treadmill doing intervals the first half and walked the second. I did 2.2 miles. Yayyyyyyy!!! An accomplishment for me. I also did 2 videos and my ab workout. I also measured myself today and found I have lost 3 1/2 inches. It is from the waist down, but still it is 3 1/2 inches. I am also down 8 pounds since the beginning of January, so I am doing well. I will take it. I have adjusted my diet though. I know that the only way I will be able to lose the belly fat is to eat less carbs. I hold the carbs in my stomach. So, I have reduced my carb intake. We will see what happens.

I had such a wonderful fun time at Zumba this morning. My friends came up to me and told me they miss me. I was sick with the flu for a week. Also one of the new girls who was standing behind me said at the end of the class" I kept looking at you so I would not miss the steps" I was feeling the Love! My Zumba Instructor rocks! She was telling us if we are keeping our new year resolutions. I raise my hand. She said She has been a instructor for so long that today is the day you want to give up. She said "She even feels that way but we need her. She said don't feel like it only happens to you. It happens to all of us"! Don't give up!

my plan is to start week three this morning... hate that i'm so far behind but proud of myself for at least keepin at it on the days it's possible... gonna be a chilly day for a walk but not nearly so bad as tomorrow... i hope you all have a wonderful day...

So during this summer I was at 180-185, quite alot down from my weight during pregnancy which peaked 215. I started making excuses and stopped exercising, loosing all motivation until the first of this year. My clothes seemed alot tighter and I felt unhealthy, but I chose not to weigh myself until I was ready to. I didn't want to loose my determination.
Today the first time since beginning this challenge I did to find 200 on the scale. I am astonished that in 5 months I put on about 20 lbs. It's sicking to me that I let myself get to this point, but if anything is more motivation to keep doing this. I haven't relapsed yet with this program and I just finished day 3 of week 3, so I plan to keep moving on. Doing six videos of P90X plus the Spark vids will hopefully help me reach my goal of 150 by the end of July this year, about 2 lbs. a week. But what I need to really focus on is what I eat. I'm cleaning up and going to stay motivated even though the truth right now really hurts :(

First day of all 3 weeks so far that I decided to sleep in rather than do my morning workout. Was so worth it though, I really enjoyed some time to sleep. Took the time during my daughters nap to do my P90X video & spark video. Started to get a bit dizzy near the end so decided to stop, hadn't really ate much yet today so that's probably why. Still burned 600 calories though. Now ready for a healthy dinner and relaxing evening. Keep on keeping on :)

Week 3 is done, I am a little disappointed in the numbers but I can certainly feel the difference so all is good. I moved up to the 2 mile walk with Leslie Sansone, I used to do this without even thinking about it now it is causing pain in my hips so I can cutting back a little on those moves but I keep moving. Adding the vegetables was good for me, I have gone back to eating a salad for lunch. Having a variety of vegetables in my refrigerator, each day the salad is a little different with the vegetables and added protein. Just need to work on improving our dinners, they are too late and not enough healthy food.

Well, day three down. Intervals done on the treadmill, video done and ab workout done. I know that yesterday I was complaining about being stuck at 229. Well, I have good news. i got on the scale this morning and lost three pounds!! Yayyyyyyyyy!!!!. I ended up changing up my food. I looked at what I was eating and I was eating way too many carbs. I really think that I have wheat belly. So, I cut down on my carbs and upped my protein and it worked!! It got me through that plateau. I was working out like crazy and not getting anywhere. Now I feel as though I am making progress.
Linsey - I should be at week four myself, but really messed up week one and had to restart there. Week two was better and this week is going very well. It will come together. Just keep at it. You CAN do this!

I have been progressing slowly through this challenge. But, at least, I have been progressing. It's taking me a long time to get a move on into week 3. I should've been progressing to 4 by now, too. Oh well, better late than never. I am NOT giving up. I am not starting completely over b/c I know that I would simply give up at that point.
Today should be the start of my 4th week, but i think i'm going to repeat my 3rd instead. I was tring to add more cardio by riding a bike, and i rode through the pain and iced it after, but gosh it keeps coming back. I haven't rode the bike since. instead i added more swimming, but admittedly due to the weather i stayed home a day. gosh it sure sounds like an excuse but 30 min of cardio when your knee hurts, what else is there besides water exercise? the weather should not stop me from swim classes this week (no snow expected) and maybe i can focus on upper body at home.

ABETTERBETTY,
You sound just like me a year ago. Then I tried to add anti-angiogenic foods to my diet to prevent a 3rd diagnosis of cancer. And there were lots of veggies on the AA food list.
Then someone on Spark people shared the Full Plate Diet, fullplatediet.org, and many vegetables added fiber and a full feeling as I ate my fill of fiber filled foods.
And finally, I took the plunge and tried Eat to Live with its emphasis on fruits and vegetables as the stars of the meal. What a culture shock it has been. I have been trying more and more vegetables which I didn't even know existed. Some are still tough to like, like brussels sprouts, but I keep trying new recipes until I get something I like, and then build from there. Good luck with your goal.
Having to switch from potato as the vegetable to eating multiple vegetables hasn't been an easy journey, but I now think it is a delicious journey, necessary for my health.

Completed week 3. I was able to complete all the videos and increased the intensity of my cardio. I had difficulty in eating the 5 servings of fruit and vegetables. I have always had this problem. I never ate much in the way of fruits and vegetables. I have slowly increased this in the last 2-1/2 years. The fruits aren't a problem, but I just don't care for vegetables. I am trying to grow this.
