So I'm into my fourth day of the second week. I did my first bonus video yesterday and I chose to do the video on low impact cardio, which had a nice little (sort of) dance part to it. I've been excited to notice that the daily strength videos are coming a lot easier than they were last week and that I'm able to push myself a little more! Climbing the stairs in my house don't feel like a workout anymore either, which is amazing.
I have to give props to my hubby too, who isn't on sparkpeople, but has been doing this with me. He gives plasma twice weekly and gets his blood pressure checked each time. Every time he has his checked, it's generally around stage 2 hypertension. Blood pressure problems and heart problems run in his family too. Well, this week during both visits, his blood pressure was down within normal ranges and he's lost 12 pounds since the beginning of last week!
The nutrition factor of this challenge has already made changes as well. Today we went out to dinner for the first time in a couple weeks (which is a big change for us). We took our kids to Chilis, where we would normally overstuff ourselves on the worst thing on the menu. Today though, we picked the healthy options and only finished half of our meal before we were full :) Out of everything, the best part i think is learning self control! I take that back, even better than that, is our two young boys are picking up on the good habits. I've been making them healthy dinners at home, instead of frozen or ready to eat meals. They are eating (some) veggies, and I've gotten them onto healthy smoothies (where I hide more veggies..hehe).
