I'm so happy to hear that you are trying, baby steps I say. I have lost 39 pounds already and I'm working on my next 20. I find it easier to break it down by 20 for every 2 months. It becomes easier as you go.

I started the 5K Your Way program this past Monday, but I guess I am in worse dhape than I thought as after 1 day of doing an almost 40 minute 2 mile power walk, the next day my shins were killing me- knocking out the rest of my week. My shins feel pretty good, so I will try again tomorrow.

I have gotten in some strenuous workouts this week. 2 (90 min) sessions with the Dare to Lose More team (similar to the Biggest Loser) with trainers, one hour on the recumbent stepper, and a weight circuit (13 machines). So that is 4 out of 7 days. Did weeding in garden today. I hope I see some results tomorrow when I weigh in with the team it is our final weigh in for this session. The new 8 wk session starts in about 2 weeks.

I am trying to kick it up a notch so I can lose some weight. It is so hard to lose even a pound. Yesterday I jogged on the treadmill for 45 minutes doing intervals such as fast and then slow. I hope thism works. I just can't work out like I used to as I have some aches and pains and my body lets me know. Well, we'll see how this week goes. Wish me luck.

I hear you, my doctor's scale said I weighted 20lbs more than my home scale I was so disappointed and said to the nurse how can I now be a size 14 and weigh this amount, it doesn't make sense, and she agreed with me. So now I go by my home scale lol.

At work, we had our own form of "Biggest Loser" and this Thursday is the final weight in. I 'm proud to say-- I did my best and didn't give-up and quit. I wasn't going to do it because some of the guys from work were doing it and in the past the guys would always win. But I think it made me more determined to do my best!! So I'll let everyone know after Thursday, how I did-- but I already know " I'm a winner because I didn't give up!!"

Every day is a new beginning. Take a deep breath and start again!

Not everyone on SP has lots of weight to lose. Started at 127 in Sept 2011 now 111 and am thrilled. 7 months with no slips in food or exercise. Disciple pays off! I have been at this weight for 3 months without a change. Happy happy.

Just like no two people are alike--neither are two scales!! The scale is only measuring the gravity pull keeping us down. I rather go by how I feel and how my clothes feel on me, and both are GREAT!!

I had the same experience a couple of years ago. I went from 1X down to a size 14, and my scale at home said I weighed 175 lbs and the doctor's scale said I weighed 195, and I thought how could that be. I have to take into consideration that I'm almost 5'10 in height, therefore, I can look smaller but still have the weight attached to it. They say I should weigh between 160 - 170 for my height. I use to weigh 155 - 160 at a size 9/10 for 10 years. But I have recently come to the conclusion that I don't want to eat bird seed for the rest of my life, and I will settle for 160 - 170, and a size 12. Don't be so hard on yourself. Baby steps are more achieveable. Start by substituing water for soda, or even tea (green, acai berry, and dandelion) extra virgin olive oil, and safflower instead of the others, of course your vegetables, and fruits. Let me know how you make out. I have faith in you.

Hiya I'm on a few teams here and i just wanted to share with you all that today was the first day doing the same exercises from coach nicole that i had total body sweat, and a beetroot face too..hahaha...now i know i'm on the right track..
funny how when i first started i didnot sweat at all; i thought maybe the exercise video's are not long enough..
but with all the motivation here and support to keep going on it really looks good to me now..
I do the 10 minute video's as i'm not able to buy the dvd's and i thought they would not give me what the gym used to; but today proved me wrong..
I'm so happy that i found SP; I know and am sure this is a beginning of a healthier life...
Keep on going ALL Sparkers

I was doing great but then last week I gianed 5 pounds. I felt really bloated up last week. I just weighed myself this week and I lost three pounds so I'm right on track again. I found that drinking lots of water through out the day decreases my appetite and increases my energy level. I can't have fresh fruit because of my acid reflex disease so I eat canned fruit instead. When I'm at work I buy yogurt and jello at the cafeteria - I work in a hospital so they have lots of healthy meals there but I usually bring my own lunch. It's less expensive too.

I was doing great until last Saturday . I started having bad back pains and could not get out of bed. The pain shoot from my lower back to my buttocks. Know I have to go to physical therapy and can not exercise for a while. I have not weight myself because the medicine keeps my tired and all I do is sleep. emoticon

I really like the strength training workouts, especially because they are 10 minutes long or less. And my cardio is going well. I have lots of health problems so walking and low impact are the best options. My kids laugh and say "you sure like that Spark people stuff" when they see me doing the workouts:)

day 2 of week 2! Yay! so far I'm doing good, except for last night. I went to an aerobics class at the gym, and when I came back home I started wheezing and felt real sick with my asthma :( I guess today I'll have to take off from cardio to give the lungs a rest.
How's everyone doing?
Good luck yall :)

I signed up for this, and then didn't do it( naughty girl ) but I started up exercising about a week and a half ago. Now I will try in get more days in than 2 or 3.

I wish I could get a partner to work with. I need to try harder to find one.

I have videos, a healthrider, indoor bike and regular , and walk. I get bored or non motivated.

Maybe some of you have some tips.

I think I feel off the wagon of exercise when it got cold, Christmas, and a particular event.

I don't have a weight issue anymore, but need to do so, for the benefit for energy, health, and my cholesterol

Today is the last day of week two for me.... I chose for my bonus workout video the 11-minute seated cardio. Which by the way was a lot harder for this old body to do than it looked like it would be. I do not seem to be doing all that well in the weight shedding or measurement shrinking, BUT, I do feel like I am getting stronger. My muscles are re-learning to do their job of supporting my bones, holding me together, and moving me from where I am to where I want to be. So, I will keep on plugging along. Any progress, even if it is just holding my own, is still better than not even trying!!

I am 2 weeks behind. I am on the down hill of week 2. The first week I wasn't familiar with the videos and kind of went through them lightly. Week 2 is going better. I chose for my extra video to be the jumprope cardio video. Boy is it intense! But it will be good for me once I have done it a few times.

Doing better and feeling better. Blood sugars are much better. Exercising more.

I was there once a few years ago. I admire you, and cheer for you. Just keep up the good work. Just having the desire is good. There is so much good motivational material. At sparkpeople. And don't. Forget, exercise while you keep up with your sweeties, Good luck

I am on Day 2 of Week 2. I started more than 2 weeks ago, but had to stop over the last week so I picked up where I left off. Anybody else still in the midst of week 2? The lower body workout felt very good today. I try to do a 10 min cardio workout everyday too, but won't kick myself if I don't get to it, cause I have a 3 month old and 5 kids total, so logistic can be an issue.

I gained 2 pounds during the 1st week - I know it's not muscle, wish, wish, I think starting to exercise again made me very hungry. Anybody else experienced that?

Stay-at-home mom of 5 beautiful children.

Let nothing frighten you,
All things pass away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
He who has God
Finds he lacks nothing;
God alone suffices."
