I am done with week one. Sorry I couldn't do 30 minutes this time.
Been working 3 to 4 days a week. (24 to 28 hours a week).
Deli can really get busy and tempting. Will keep on drinking water.
And will do much better with the exercise videos next time.
(Going to Chili's with fiancée this afternoon). Already planned out my meal.
It is great to be able to look at the menu and see what you can order.
Have a good weekend all. Can't wait to see you again next time! HOLLY

I did day 3 of the strength/toning video. I also did 20min cardio. I'm not sure if the requirement is 30min card or just "shoot" for 30. It's great to be done for the day. If I'm feeling stronger, I'll try to get in another 10m of cardio. Motivation is strong. It's only been 2 days for me, but it feels good to be motivated & know I'm improving my body, mind, & soul.

Did day 1 of the challenge, & boy do i feel it. I have been sitting for 10 years, so my endurance is bad & muscles weak. I have been doing 10min/day, but this is the first time I did 10min strength & 30min cardio. I am so anorexic in the mornings, so when I did the first 10min strength, I hadn't eaten which made me ill. So now I will be drinking at lease 1/2 serving of my protein shake before I exercise.

It felt great to finish day 1.

Week one went really well. A few of the videos were surprisingly challenging being so short. I plan to do the abs one regularly. Good for the back!

I need to really step it up. I am proud of myself for eating healthy and not giving into night snacking. Areas to improve though: I think I need to start drinking more water, and finding consistent times to exercise, like in the morning, instead of pushing myself at night when I my energy is at a lower level. So far so good though. These workouts are just the "Jump Start" that I truly need to start my new year! emoticon

I've been working out at the local gym for 2 years. I do 45-60 minutes of cardio (elliptical and cycling, sometimes running) and 30-45 of weightlifting 5-6 times a week.

Yesterday was my first workout of the year as I came down with the flu the day after Christmas. I've been sick since.

My goal is to lose 5lbs (I've lost 95lbs in the past 2 years)

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

Yesterday was a loss in terms of exercise. I was exhausted and sore from too much weekend. Came home after work and took a painkiller and went to bed. Today will be better.

I did stick with food plan yesterday, so yay for that.

Somehow, I have to get sleep back in control. Lack of it is really screwing things up. It's very hard to be dedicated to anything when exhausted.

Sounds like you're experiencing a plateau after that TREMENDOUS loss. emoticon A plateau is your body's way of settling in and getting used to the new weight. Yesterday was good. I ate well and got in just over 30 minutes of exercise. I am not doing videos on weekends. That intrudes too much into my own plan for my betterment.

Today, I've already done strength training and am about to head out for a walk. It's just after 6 am, so I get points for being an early bird.

I'm feeling defeated after loosing 60 pounds in 9 months. I only lost .8 pounds in December. I had gained 3 pounds before loosing that .8 pounds too. I need to be motivated and start the New year with a new challenge. Hopefully this will be what I need to get going again.

I just joined this challenge with the goal of being consistent in working out. I did a toning video and rode my exercise bike (cardio?) for 17 minutes today. I've been sick, so that is about all I could muster.

I will plan my meals and get more organized for the first seven days. I am good about tracking my nutrition and water, I wear a Fitbit, which helps tremendously. I really need to stop skipping meals and be better about taking food to work so I'm not looking for dinner at 8:30pm. In the past, January would signal the start of trying to eat better and exercise, but I always would lose momentum after a few weeks. I'm going to continue to read other member's inspirational stories and quotes and keep working on eating well and exercising daily.

I've started and stopped so many times I've lost count. One good thing I've finally realized is you can't out exercise your diet.

This program helped me in the past, so I am going to do it again. I have been plateaued too long. Today I did a lot of heavy cleaning - the oven and floors, so that will count for my cardio. I am struggling with space for the videos - we are getting ready to tile the house and have furniture crammed in odd places and rooms that are empty but have no computer in them!

I will do two videos tomorrow since I just joined. But today I did do 30 jumping jacks, 20 jumping squats, and 10 push ups for 10 minutes. My total was 150 jumping jacks, 80 jumping squats and 40 push ups. 10 minutes is a lot longer than I thought! emoticon When broken down it's doable. If I was told to do the larger number I don't think I would.

Hi-- I am already pretty dedicated to tracking nutrition, so will keep doing that and I have been getting exercise almost daily for a while now. Will continue the things I already do and add daily videos, starting Monday. I will likely not do videos on weekends.

Today, I walked with intent and without resting. Tomorrow, I am taking a very short hike with a friend. That will be easy going, more concentrated on fun and good conversation than fitness. It is nice (after years of major health problems) to be able to enjoy a walk again.

Just joined this challenge and need to get into a regular routine. Even if i am unable to do all the exercises, i will at least show up and do what I can!!

I am on Day 27 of the Meta 30-Day Small Changes Challenge and feel like i have learned many useful things. Most important is to be consistent - i tend to do good for a couple of weeks and then is just seems that everyday life just gets in the way. And that is always my excuse.

But I know that I need to make this a priority -

I have tried to complete this challenge several times before and I have yet to do so. I am not sure why, but I have been unable to complete the challenge in its entirety. I not sure if I get bored or I just lack the consistency that is needed, but I definitely need to figure out what works for me.

I have been a member of many years now and have never really been involved or followed the program. I am a yo yo weight gainer/loser. Seems like I get serious when I gain 50lbs. It least historically I have always managed to drop the weight. This time I have no motivation. Any guidance? Anyone like me out there? What have you done to lose it and keep it off?

Just did day one! That video actually left me sweating! I wont be able to finish because week four I will be on spring break but I wanted to start it anyway! I'm excited to be making some positive changes in my life! I got all my lunches and dinners planned for the week and they put me in all my nutritional ranges!

Today was a struggle as well. Had to do errands by bike, which is great but I am just going to reboot myself tomorrow and start fresh! I feel like a day of derailing you can pick back up but two I think I just need to start fresh!

Only day two and already derailed! I wrecked the car today! Spent half the morning getting an estimate. Kind of nullified the day! No worries I was not hurt, the car is damaged but I am just a bad driver and backed into a pole, had to fix it to keep the bumper off the tires!
On an up note I did bike 135 minutes yesterday, so there is a win in the week!

Finally got the Day 5 video done. emoticon Probably should have taken off my shoes for this first go round...much harder than I remembered this type of exercise to be. emoticon emoticon
Any tips for my aching hips? I put down an exercise mat and still needed to grab a pillow. emoticon Hope it will be easier next time.

Well this was my 20th day in a row at work and a 12 hr day. Totally exhausted so wasn't able to get any videos done tonight. Worked a different floor so no time for a video at work. I did manage to do some serious cleaning and a walk in at work. But I did shovel snow for over 20 mins. when I got home. Will work on Day2 Wk 3 tomorrow night. Keep up the good work all.

Week one wasn't too bad. Just ran in place on moves I can't do.
Had to use YouTube to get the videos in though. Had lots of buffering.
Hoping week 2 won't have as many problems.

Did Day 2 on Wk2 plus I had done 3 10 min. Cardio's at work tonight. Coach Nicole: We need to have you put together some more of those 10 min. Cardio DVD's. I like to do some of them at work for break time but they have to be without weights or mat's. Just regular ones whether bootcamp and kickboxing etc. I will not haul my weights or a mat to work and do not want to do anything on there floors. I do the heck out of the Cardio Blast one that I have already so would like a couple more similar to that one. Thanks.

It was raining yesterday so I stayed in and did a low impact aerobics video using my step, and then jogged 60 minutes on my mini-trampoline. I feel the workout today emoticon

My goal is to do at least 30 minutes of exercise a day and eat healthier. I have a big sweet tooth and find it difficult to say no cookies, cake, and candy. The last 6 months I've gained 10 pounds. I attibute my gain to not eating good food, not working out, hormonal changes, and just not caring. In 2015, I want to care about myself and lose the weight I need to lose.

Only took 1 rest day from cardio this past week. In our house you can go in a circle thru different rooms. Our 2.5 y.o. granddaughter likes to be chased. We went round and round for 10 minutes. She makes me huff and puff lol.

Im resting today. I pulled a left neck mussel, if I dont rest, it will take MUCH longer to heal. So I'm listening & studying healing charts! Be happy! Exersing in bed, pilates-leg lifts-deep breathing-etc. Planning for the week, etc. Be happy! :-)

Day 7 video in bed! Yes! A challenge, but worth trying! :-)

Day #5 was fun! I love Pilates. I also did my 'regular' Sheppard Pilates DVD, as well as keeping the walking going, have for years now! I like that the videos are short, too! emoticon

KURTZIE, I'm 71. It can be done"
KWILIEONE, it's OK to modify the exercises. I do, as I have back problems, arthritis they say. I'm finding out by trial and error what I can do and what is not advisable, as the docs and p[hysios I''ve come across are not very helpful. Be gentle on your joints. They shouldn't be hurting. Modify! Pain is a signal to take it easier. This speaks the voice of experience!

Yesterday I spent most of the day in bed and successfully warded off incipient flu, so no workout. I took that as my 2nd cardio free day, and did the video today, thus completing the week 1 tasks and moving on to week 2.

Okay, now that my griping about the first few, tough days is history, I can say it is hard but I am glad to be doing it. My joints are really hurting, though, and I think it is the dry, cold weather exacerbating the already tender joints. I am going to try occasionally skipping the diuretic I take for my edema and see if that helps. Also, I am switching evening meds to morning, and that may help. Too cold by the lake to walk this week, so I guess it is time to pull the treadmill out. Still not up to more than five minutes at a time on my spinner. However, today, I am determined to push myself to ten. I may have to put it in front of the television to succeed (something to distract me from the slow passage of time).

My name is Kathleen and I have retired to the central Texas Hill Country to live near my son.

today is my first day of this challenge. I like that the videos aren't very long and the daily goals are attainable. one of my goals is to track my food every day good or bad so I am aware of what i am putting in my mouth.

Welp. Day 2 for me. I am just getting up and around. Gonna make my nutribullet smoothie and then do my work out and some wii. Curious to see if I'll be able to do many of the videos with my injury but I'll navigate to what I can do. I'm excited for the road ahead!

These type of Challenges are challenging for me - LOL! But it is a good exercise in consistency. I did miss a couple of days during the first week. The first time it happened I made up for it the next day doing 2 videos. The second time I missed I just continued on with my week and did the video the next day in sequence. I felt it was more important to do all of the videos instead of fretting about being a day behind on my "Week 1" deadline. Plus I do cardio 7 days a week instead of the 5 listed so that should make up for a missed day of ST. The hip/butt/thigh video was the hardest for me since I have two artificial hips, but as I recover from my last surgery I will continue to work through the video the best I can.

So it is onward to Week 2 for me. Hope everyone else is doing good!

Finished Wk 1. I did Day 7 tonight then D ! and 2 again. Planned on doing more but either my puter or my internet were being a pain. I am hoping to get the 2nd week in my email now that I signed up. Feeling really good about my accomplishments. It amazes me how each year the videos seem to get easier and I can stretch further or do a better push up. I was losing then was stressed out with my son's PTSD so put on about 13 lbs now have to lose 8 more then continue from there. I will be having my first Grandson so this Grandma needs to be in better shape for him as well as me. Hope all of you are doing awesome. Keep up the good work.

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.
