Only day two and already derailed! I wrecked the car today! Spent half the morning getting an estimate. Kind of nullified the day! No worries I was not hurt, the car is damaged but I am just a bad driver and backed into a pole, had to fix it to keep the bumper off the tires!
On an up note I did bike 135 minutes yesterday, so there is a win in the week!

Starting this tomorrow! Just finished the 28 day Bootcamp. I am thinking that this one might have been a better one to start with.

Finally got the Day 5 video done. emoticon Probably should have taken off my shoes for this first go round...much harder than I remembered this type of exercise to be. emoticon emoticon
Any tips for my aching hips? I put down an exercise mat and still needed to grab a pillow. emoticon Hope it will be easier next time.

Well this was my 20th day in a row at work and a 12 hr day. Totally exhausted so wasn't able to get any videos done tonight. Worked a different floor so no time for a video at work. I did manage to do some serious cleaning and a walk in at work. But I did shovel snow for over 20 mins. when I got home. Will work on Day2 Wk 3 tomorrow night. Keep up the good work all.

Week one wasn't too bad. Just ran in place on moves I can't do.
Had to use YouTube to get the videos in though. Had lots of buffering.
Hoping week 2 won't have as many problems.
Have a good week. Holly emoticon

Did Day 2 on Wk2 plus I had done 3 10 min. Cardio's at work tonight. Coach Nicole: We need to have you put together some more of those 10 min. Cardio DVD's. I like to do some of them at work for break time but they have to be without weights or mat's. Just regular ones whether bootcamp and kickboxing etc. I will not haul my weights or a mat to work and do not want to do anything on there floors. I do the heck out of the Cardio Blast one that I have already so would like a couple more similar to that one. Thanks.

It was raining yesterday so I stayed in and did a low impact aerobics video using my step, and then jogged 60 minutes on my mini-trampoline. I feel the workout today emoticon

My goal is to do at least 30 minutes of exercise a day and eat healthier. I have a big sweet tooth and find it difficult to say no cookies, cake, and candy. The last 6 months I've gained 10 pounds. I attibute my gain to not eating good food, not working out, hormonal changes, and just not caring. In 2015, I want to care about myself and lose the weight I need to lose.

Only took 1 rest day from cardio this past week. In our house you can go in a circle thru different rooms. Our 2.5 y.o. granddaughter likes to be chased. We went round and round for 10 minutes. She makes me huff and puff lol.

Im resting today. I pulled a left neck mussel, if I dont rest, it will take MUCH longer to heal. So I'm listening & studying healing charts! Be happy! Exersing in bed, pilates-leg lifts-deep breathing-etc. Planning for the week, etc. Be happy! :-)

Day 7 video in bed! Yes! A challenge, but worth trying! :-)

KURTZIE, I'm 71. It can be done"
KWILIEONE, it's OK to modify the exercises. I do, as I have back problems, arthritis they say. I'm finding out by trial and error what I can do and what is not advisable, as the docs and p[hysios I''ve come across are not very helpful. Be gentle on your joints. They shouldn't be hurting. Modify! Pain is a signal to take it easier. This speaks the voice of experience!

Yesterday I spent most of the day in bed and successfully warded off incipient flu, so no workout. I took that as my 2nd cardio free day, and did the video today, thus completing the week 1 tasks and moving on to week 2.

Okay, now that my griping about the first few, tough days is history, I can say it is hard but I am glad to be doing it. My joints are really hurting, though, and I think it is the dry, cold weather exacerbating the already tender joints. I am going to try occasionally skipping the diuretic I take for my edema and see if that helps. Also, I am switching evening meds to morning, and that may help. Too cold by the lake to walk this week, so I guess it is time to pull the treadmill out. Still not up to more than five minutes at a time on my spinner. However, today, I am determined to push myself to ten. I may have to put it in front of the television to succeed (something to distract me from the slow passage of time).

My name is Kathleen and I have retired to the central Texas Hill Country to live near my son.

today is my first day of this challenge. I like that the videos aren't very long and the daily goals are attainable. one of my goals is to track my food every day good or bad so I am aware of what i am putting in my mouth.

Welp. Day 2 for me. I am just getting up and around. Gonna make my nutribullet smoothie and then do my work out and some wii. Curious to see if I'll be able to do many of the videos with my injury but I'll navigate to what I can do. I'm excited for the road ahead!

These type of Challenges are challenging for me - LOL! But it is a good exercise in consistency. I did miss a couple of days during the first week. The first time it happened I made up for it the next day doing 2 videos. The second time I missed I just continued on with my week and did the video the next day in sequence. I felt it was more important to do all of the videos instead of fretting about being a day behind on my "Week 1" deadline. Plus I do cardio 7 days a week instead of the 5 listed so that should make up for a missed day of ST. The hip/butt/thigh video was the hardest for me since I have two artificial hips, but as I recover from my last surgery I will continue to work through the video the best I can.

So it is onward to Week 2 for me. Hope everyone else is doing good!

Finished Wk 1. I did Day 7 tonight then D ! and 2 again. Planned on doing more but either my puter or my internet were being a pain. I am hoping to get the 2nd week in my email now that I signed up. Feeling really good about my accomplishments. It amazes me how each year the videos seem to get easier and I can stretch further or do a better push up. I was losing then was stressed out with my son's PTSD so put on about 13 lbs now have to lose 8 more then continue from there. I will be having my first Grandson so this Grandma needs to be in better shape for him as well as me. Hope all of you are doing awesome. Keep up the good work.

WIIMII9726 Thank you so much for the response! Good to know that work counts. LOL. Particularly since they want me for 5 hours a day the rest of the week instead of my 2. I ought to lose a few ounces. LOL. Thanks again and good luck!

This is my day 3. I started on 5 January. So, I'm 5 days behind everyone. On the 5th I did my steps for this, worked at my physical labor job, bypassed junk I shouldn't eat, and ate extra veggies and fruit. Today was a snow day so no work or school. I tried to sleep in and...slept til 11 am. I normally get up at 0530. I'm still tired. LOL.

Made it through week one/day seven. Yeah for me!!! It has been a challanging week for me but, very satistfing. The videos are very good. I had to modify some of the exercises . But I hope by the end of this Challenge this won't be a problem.

Hi,

I just completed day3. I also did 20 minutes cardio on my elliptical. I am feeling good. I just have to keep on keepin. I notice that my steps are increasing every day. Slowly, but surely I will get there. I am taking at least 5 minutes to really stretch after working out. It really makes me feel good.

I have however been doing videos and my bike the past 7 days. love the challenge and the program for the start of my second week.

This is day 4 for me. I wish today's video had been day 1's video. It fully stretched my upper body and was slow paced, so it was easier for me to keep up. Given that I am 66 years old, recovering from major illness and a shoulder injury and have some osteoarthritis, the first day gave me pause on the wisdom of this program for me. It is all well and good to say you can modify, but if the out of the gate pace is really fast, it is demotivating. That said, I am reviewing the videos in advance of attempting them now, so I will be better prepared to make modifications.

Day #4... loved the core work out!

JESSY0125 I suggest you do not work out 2 hours before bedtime or drink water! I have a 16 oz water glass by my bed & drink all when I first get up! I drink 10 glasses a day, not including tea or coffee or ANYTHING in it. REALLY helps with not getting up through the night! Hope it helps! emoticon

I am wondering if anyone else is have this same experience. I have been exercising, drinking more water and eating healthier. I'm finding that I am having a hard time staying asleep at night. I am waking several times during the night. A couple of those times I get up to go to the bathroom. That I understand because I drinking more water.
I recently got a fit bit. It tacks my sleep. Normally I am restless only a couple times at night, but the last few nights it has been much more.
Got any suggestions to help with this? It is so frustrating.

Day 2. Hard to get up this morning. Went to bed way too late, but I go my video in and I spent 10 minutes on the wii doing my advanced step. Need to figure out how to get a cardio in while I'm at work.

S - Start slowly, set yourself up for success
T - Try new things, don't say you can't do something or don't like something before you have tried it.
A - Add movement everywhere, walking farther, calf raises while waiting in line, etc.
R - Realize that you are human & will make mistakes
T- Take time to recognize your successes - celebrate!

God, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can and the wisdom to know it's me.

Yes it does. When you are in the Fitness Tracker you can search for all sorts of exercises including shoveling snow, gardening, raking, moving heavy boxes and many more. I work at a REM House and work up a sweat all the time. We clean, cook, shower people etc. so I count that as house cleaning. Also count in some of it for walking cause we are on the go throughout the whole shift.
I completed Day 4, 5, and 6 videos today along with house cleaning. Was hoping to get 7 done too but started to feel as though it is time to relax. I went to work from 9 - 2, ran errands, scooped snow, scrubbed floor, changed bedding etc. Definitely accomplished a lot today. I worked 2 - 10's the past 3 days so used Coach Nicole's Cardio Blast DVD to get my cardio's in. From 8:30 to 9 is my down time to work out. If I wait till I get home it is so late then I get to bed even later. Tomorrow night I work the shorter shift so will be able to finish Day 7 and start over again. Take care all. If your in Mn. stay safe and stay warm. emoticon

Day 2. I started late. I have a question. Does heavy cleaning count as cardio for the challenge? I do work up a dripping sweat most days doing the cleaning at work. It's definitely heavy and usually lasts for 10 - 30 minute chunks. Thanks!

Oh my. Day two. Did the Coach Nicole Lower Body video, did a 10 minute upper body/arm sculpting video with 2 pound weights and did a 15 minute cardio video (kept it at low impact). I am not in shape for this. But that is the point, isn't it. This 66 year old is still hanging in.

That's the spirit PAINTERK1, just take it one day and a time and do only what you can do.
It took a while before I got up to speed with exercising. I tried the 1st day video today, that is really too much for me, I have a cardio and strength video at home that I can do better, it is for seniors, I am 72, I don't jump. I also walked on my treadmill for 30 minutes. I am tired right now. Have a good evening all. emoticon

Bit off more than I cared to: dd & fam were here for 8 days (!), BUT I was able to get the first week done the first week, with some over-eating issues.
2nd week will be just as tough: ds & fam will be her for 8 days (!), BUT I hope to do even better - maybe without over-eating?

EROOMOM, you can bookmark the challenge page and get to the videos easily from there. I downloaded the videos on to my ipad, but still go to them on the site to track my cals and get my spark points.
Yesterday day 4, with Day 1 cardio video and about 15 mins walking in town in snow and ice. Cardio free day. I'm aiming at 30 mins cardio on normal days. Feeling dizzy and shattered. Very early to bed.
Day 5, but doing day 2 video (Monday), combining it with Jessica Smith fitin15 and her new walk on dvd, but no dvd today. 25 mins cardio, 6k steps. Hard to clock up steps when the roads are like a skating rink in too many places. And it's going to continue that wayy for at least the next few days. Thank God for firewood and workout videos!

Hi,

I did Week 1 Video 1 today. I also did 10 minutes of cardio. I'm going to build up slowly.

I also started today because my head says Monday is the beginning of the week. Also, there
are exactly 4 weeks until the end of January.

I just gotta keep on keepin!

Just started :) Will be completing week 1 day 1 once my 18 mon old goes down for a nap!!! I am excited. I am looking forward to the rewards that will come with actually STICKING with this challenge. I am breastfeeding so am looking for things that aren't too intense. But still want to feel like I am doing something. I have 18 lbs til my 2nd pregnancy pre pregnancy weight and 50 to make it to my 1st pregnancy pre pregnancy weight and 80ish to make it to my ultimate goal!!! which is where I almost got to before my wedding in 2012!

Just started day 1 cause in my brain my week starts on Monday, so I put off the January 1 start day. Love the video! Think I'm going to use these short burst videos for rainy day recess. Think the kids will love them! Way better than asking them to do puzzles quietly when it's deluging outside!

Thanks!!!

Week 1, Day 1, Video 1 emoticon

Took me until after 9pm but I refused to go to bed without getting it done. My computer had trouble buffering so I did a couple extra minutes of marching LOL, We'll just call that a little extra icing on my exercise day emoticon emoticon

I can't seem to fit those videos in to my day. Grrrr....but I'll keep trying. I have managed to workout with a trainer 3 times a week and I get in 6k steps a day, but the videos are killing me!

Today is my day 1. My goal for right now is to lose 5% of my weight. I am starting at 204.6 I am 72, in good health and fairly active, last year I accomplished two of my goals, I did a 3K and 5K walk. I just completed the 10 minute 5 days a week exercise for 4 weeks. I do need to plan better meals and watch calories better. emoticon I am feeling confident I can do this. I appreciate the support from this web site. Good luck and Happy New Year.

Blessings, Joyce

day 1-did the 30 minutes without problem but the first video? Whew! It certainly let me know just how out of shape I am! I apparently have almost no sense of balance or limberness left. Well.....this is why I'm doing this jumpstart, right?

My name is Kristine, and I live in Connecticut

I'm definitely struggling getting 30 minutes of 'real' cardio, and having to top it up with just walking usually. And I've had to do a lot of modifications on the toning videos because of a recent knee injury. But pushing through these motivation killers!

Finished Coach Nicole's 8 minute cardio workout. Whew, this is going to be tougher than I thought. But hey, I will feel so good for having done this challenge! I may need some easier videos. Having a little trouble with clumsiness and keeping up.

My name is Kathleen and I have retired to the central Texas Hill Country to live near my son.
