I know I'm a week late but I managed to lose 9lbs, so only 1lb away from my goal :)

Happy Samhain Everyone! I hope you are all sleek and sexy in your costumes tonight!
I'm happy to say that I feel I did really well on this challenge even thought I didn't make my goal, I'm only 3 lbs shy of it. I feel I've spent so long being fat that any loss, no matter when it comes, is GREAT!!

So I was all grouchy because I thought my starting weight for this goal was 160, and that I had only lost 6 pounds or so. Imagine my surprise when I saw that my starting weight was 165 instead. I'm at 154 now, which means 11 pounds down from me! I just recently had a weigh-in, but I'll check again tomorrow just in case.

Last time I reported I was hitting the scales at 120.4. On Tuesday's weigh-in, I was at 118.0. Yippee!! That's another 1.6 pounds for the team.

301.1 + 1.6 = 302.7 - we made our 300 with ease! :-)

I am jumping into this challenge a little late. I've had a Sparkpeople hiatus and after a not so stellar start to the school year and just returning from a weekend trip chaperoning a group of college students and eating garbage, I need some motivation. Beautiful Hope, I think revising your goal upwards was a good idea. Losing more than 2 or 3 pounds a week is really hard unless you are 1) in your teens, 2) much larger than you are, or 3) male (sounds sexist, but it's true). The few times I've dropped 3 pounds, it was after I came off a plateau. Maybe there's some sort of 'tipping point' where weight that should have come off in increments just leaves at the same time.

Also: don't go below that magic number of calories. If you are doing a real 'hardbody' exercise routine, you may need more than 1200 to stay out of starvation mode.

Goal by Samhain: Originally 145 lbs., revised to 149 and now re-revised to 154 (FINAL revision, I promise!) as this weight has been coming off pretty slowly. I think I am finally on the verge of breaking through this plateau after upping my exercise and rededicating myself to a 1200 calorie healthy eating plan.

Witchcrafty: I find that changing my exercise around - i.e. doing different kinds of exercise - has helped me break plateaus before.

I began by walking and doing some swimming when I had pool access, but have added other activities like fitness videos, stationary biking (somebody you know is surely using one to drape clothes on!), and frenetic dancing in my living room (yes, it counts as cardio!). I rotate those so my metabolism won't get into a rut. I do strength exercises to build muscle so my body is burning more calories all the time.

Food: I don't know if this helped or not, but I discovered that I wasn't eating enough protein. I tended to go over on carbs and not high enough with protein OR fat. Adjusting my diet so I was getting more meat and less pop (I'd rather eat my calories than drink them) has, at the very least, given me more endurance.

Well because of last months set back i'm looking only to drop down to 165, but that will still be great. I'm happy to say that after gaining weight this week i've lost 4 pounds this week. These weeks where ya fluctuate are just nerve racking.

Starting weight: 187.4

I'm game

So far for October -2 lbs, hope to be down a total of 5 lbs by the 31st. That goal fits with my average monthly weight loss.

The down side (it's really a +) to all this weight loss I need new clothes, even my 'tight' clothes are getting to baggy. (grin)

I am back on full force. I slacked off for a week and gained back like 7 lbs... I know it's all water but it freaked me out. I have done really well the past two days and dropped back down 5, so hopefully I might even lose something real soon :D

well i haven't been doing so hot lately. I was at a plateau all of september. I've devised some ideas to get thru this for october, and now i'm just planning on 173 by the time i leave for terlingua (the world champion chili cook off) which happens to be on samhain.

Well, last week I was feeling pretty yucky so I didn't do much.

I have only lost .5 lbs since starting this challenge, but I have a renewed focus this week and plan on losing that last 2.5 lbs before the challenge ends.

I have taken a sabatical I'm afraid. I'm working during the week, doing Renaissance Festival all weekend and I've been baby sitting every night as my sister had a 2nd baby last Monday and she is still in hospital. I am doing my best to maintain until after 10/7 when the faire ends and then I will start back up full force again :)

I have lost a total of 18 lbs so far my goal was to reach 120 but I am going to change that to 115 I am at 121 right now I just forgot how to change the meter.

Small baby step goals to begin with so I don't get discouraged again
