Figuring out what the best choices are at a place known for big burgers and never ending fries is a challenge! I've isolated some of the best choices calorie-wise. No choice is EXCELLENT in the sodium range, but a few aren't too bad. I've noted which ones are way high in that realm. Those who really want one of their yummy burgers can always cut it in half (they are so filling this is very doable!) and eat the other half for lunch the next day. I might do that.
Burgers and Sandwiches (I am NOT listing red meat choices, only turkey and chicken):
Grilled Turkey Burger on whole wheat bun - 578 calories
Cali Chicken Burger - 744 calories, and one of the lowest in sodium at 633 grams.
Simply Grilled Chicken Sandwich - comes without mayo at 408 calories. Add Dijon Mustard and it is 414 calories. Add Chipotle Mayo and it is 601 calories.
Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich - 793 calories. Remove the swiss cheese and it is 683 calories.
Bruschetta Chicken Sandwich - 615 calories, but higher in sodium. Remove the provolone and it is 535 calories.
Baja Turkey Club Sandwich - 734 calories but super high in sodium.
BLTA (Bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado) Croissant - 660 calories and had the most fiber at 5 grams.
The only plate under 800 calories (which is what I set the limit on) is the Ensenada Chicken Platter. It is only 441 calories but is fairly high in sodium.
I was surprised to read that the wraps (especially since one was with spinach tortillas) were as high or higher in calories as the sandwiches! I'm only listing two, the highest and the lowest to give you an example:
Whiskey River BBQ chicken wrap in spinach tortillas - a whopping 1200 calories!
Caesar Chicken Wrap: 789 calories.
Salads: Not a big caloric difference, but more veggies, presumably.
AVO Cobb O Salad with grilled chicken breast and 2 oz balsamic vinaigrette - 752 calories.
Apple Harvest Chicken Salad with Dijon Vinaigrette - 705 calories
Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad with Baja Ranch dressing - 873 calories (can make under 800 calories with a different dressing)
Simply Grilled Chicken salad with 2 oz balsamic vinaigrette - 574 calories.
