I'm still in the stage of experimenting with training plans and what works best for me. I started with Hal Higdon's for my first couple of half marathons (And basically liked it) but then switched to Jeff Galloway for a while, and now that I'm training for Goofy, it's kind of a Galloway-related Frankenplan that incorporates a few B2B training runs. After Goofy, and for my next half marathons (one of which I want to try and PR), I'm going back to Hal Higdon's plan which is a little more aggressive than JG's...

I, for one, am really looking forward to following your training, Laurie... and helping where I can!! I have been using mostly Hal Higdon plans. He even has a multiple marathons section, for marathons 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks apart. THAT has come in pretty handy lately! LOL
I am currently getting ready for the Louisiana Marathon in Jan 15th, and am doing the 8 weeks between marathons Higdon plan from Space Coast to Louisiana. (It was actually 7 weeks, but I just skipped week 1)

I am sticking with my tried and true (over and over again) Galloway plan that I started using for Princess last winter. I run 2 weekday 40-ish minute runs and then a 4 mile long run on the weekend alternating with a gradual buildup of miles up to 14 miles for HM training. I am starting my "on purpose" detraining right now for recovery purposes from my 2011 aggressive racing schedule.
Next weekend I will run a 6 mile long run and build up from there. My first HM of 2012 is Princess at the end of February. After that, Katie bar the door! Laurie has huge plans for 2012 and that is where this particular thread will really come in handy!
