I am new to this team, and have started daily weigh-ins due to a heart condition. I started out on 12/29/2011 at 219, and as of today (after one week of new meds), I am at 212.6. Yay! It seems my doc has finally found something to get rid of all this fluid build-up. Now comes the true weight loss. I am ready!

Yikes again! The scale battery problems have thrown me off. Also, starting up school again after the Winter break. I totally forgot to weigh-in before eating, and I have already eaten breakfast and drank coffee.

I'd love to join the challenge of stepping on a scale each week! I am starting this healthy eating process now for my new years resolution. I plan on weighing in each Saturday morning (just most convenient) but I did weigh myself yesterday just to see my starting point, and it was 140. Hoping to lose 20lbs by July (my birthday) and could use all the support I can get!

You have no idea what a leap I'm taking by posting my weight, as I never tell anyone my weight. It's always been something I hid. Today I weighed in at 145. That's 5 pounds over my goal, but I'm confident it will come off in a couple weeks. I'm sure it's weight I've gained over the holidays and from some added stress I've had lately.

Good morning all,

I started using SparkPeople sporadically over a year and a half ago. Although I was doing quite well with exercise, I started to find the dieting part of the equation harder and harder to master. Then I injured both knees and one ankle, which really put a crimp in my exercise program. I find myself this morning weighing 15 pounds more than I did a year ago--very disconcerting. Weight Watchers worked well for me in the past, when a local group was available, so I thought I'd give this a shot. My weight this morning (post-yesterday's New Year's frivolity, but also after 1.5 hours zumba and 1 hour of lindy hop) is 184.6 lbs.

CMClaire: I like the way that you have broken your weight loss down into segments over time. Certainly makes it seem more manageable. I will have to plan this out for myself.

This is a thread for daily weigh-ins.

Just like when I first used the nutrition tracker, it helped to do it every day for every bite and now I only do it a few days a week. I think it will be easier for me to just weigh-in and post my weight every day as a start. Once that is easy, maybe I'll switch to only a weekly weigh-in. I think I remember reading on the National Weight Control Registry that successful maintainers often weighed-in more than once a week.

Of course, weighing in daily, one should expect to see a lot of fluctuation, and not a steady downwards slope, although the overall direction will be downwards over time.

I'll report tomorrow morning with my first weigh-in. Anyone want to join me?
