Ha! I sure can see why I couldn't lose weight. Our WW leader tells us the story of a few years ago. She bought a package of frosted sugar cookies that she bought at Walmart, intending to take them on a family 4th of July camping trip. She ate 8 of them and her dog ate 4. She didn't even make inside the house, and didn't want her husband to know what she did! So she hid the empty package and when she could she dumped it in someone else's trash can. Her husband couldn't figure out why the dog kept whining to go out in the garage.....he wanted more cookies..
She tracked them and it came to 35 extra WW points, and she had already had 3 meals that day! She was only allowed 26 points total for the day! So that was 35 above her limit. She says ahe won't even think about buying them any more! And was a WW leader!
We are all here because we are food addicts, and we need to learn how to eat healthy......I am learning and when I overdo, I face it! emoticon

O Wendy, I tracked all also, could not believe what it added up to. over 800 calories in one meal. I did not clean my plate, but I tracked as cleaned, so I could see what it looked like on the plate and also on the tracker. We forget how we use to eat and wonder why we kept gaining weight. It's a visual reminder! emoticon Love this new emoticon. So much fun!

Lord, bless my diet buddies and help me met my 2014 weight goals of 60 pounds.

Pitter, I did the same thing for lunch! i did ok with my meal, but I had more cookies than I should have! I never make goodies at home, because I can't have them in the house......Well I enjoyed those cookies, for sure....I think I have it out of my system now. emoticon

But here is what I did... I came home and tracked every thing in my nutrition tracker...this is just what we discussed in our WW meeting today....track it and face up to it. It opens our eyes to how much it adds up, and figures in our calories for the rest of the week. Be accountable..and I know that I won't be eating anything else today....

emoticon I went out for breakfast this morning! I had enought calories to last me for the whole day. I will do better tomorrow, but just for today, it's what I wanted. I have stayed on track for over 3 months and I needed a break. It felt good ordering and eating, but now I feel so full! I will not do that again until I forget what over full feels like.

Lord, bless my diet buddies and help me met my 2014 weight goals of 60 pounds.

I imagine that almost everyone on SparkPeople can relate to what you wrote. The awful feeling we experience is still felt deep....... But I manged to chalk it up to just plain old rudeness, and they are just thoughtless people.
You are doing the right thing, and you are in the right place to suceed...... God Bless emoticon

Don't let that rude missy bring you down. If it's true, it's true......use it to fuel the fire in your belly! You're on a weight loss journey and there will be challenges along the way. If weight loss was as easy as gaining weight...we wouldn't need this outlet. Just take her words and feed your fire. Expecting pleasantries in this day and age isn't realistic unfortunately and if we weren't overweight, rude people would find something else inappropriate to say. So, oh, well...move on and move forward! emoticon

Pushing forward...bound and determined!

I was at work the other day and a women who used to work there with me came in and said Hi, and then was kind enough to follow that hello with...

"WOW! You Gained Weight!" emoticon

I was so shocked that anyone could be so rude do people these days not have any filter between their brain and their mouths...

I thought it was pretty rude but just said yep I know and I'm working on it... emoticon
But I must say how discouraging that was to me when I'm working so hard on losing weight and looking better and then someone just kicks you to the ground like that.

I guess her mother never taught her the old saying "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all...

Oh well now that I have vented about it I will plug on and keep on going so next time she sees me I will be a hotty and she wont have anything to say then.

Right there with you and your frustration... BUT emoticon emoticon You just gotta change it up a little more... I signed up for a personal trainer today (Expensive I know! However I just received a bonus that I went straight to investing it for myself) because I feel like I been pushing and doing all the right things find myself plateauing so I figured why not get extra help from a professional? GOOD LUCK emoticon

Don't rely on just the scales. You may not be losing pounds, but you could also be losing inches. Measure yourself, write the numbers down and then in a month re-measure yourself, and see where you are at. Good luck on your journey.

Are you saying that you dropped a lot in weight all of a sudden? I don't know if that is what you meant, but sometimes that happens after staying the same for a while, esp if you are staying within your calorie allotment.
Just keep eating right, and it will change for good. My scales will bounce up and down for a while before a weight loss kicks in and stays. The main thing is just keep doing what you know to be right, and it will come off...... emoticon

I agree with the slower the better but lately it hasn't even been that. It seems like all of a sudden there is a drop in weight loss. I hadn't changed the scale on here for awhile cause every time I do then I gain. I actually weighed in at 241.6 but know that will change so only changed my weight by 1.6 lb loss. Keep up the good work all.

My mind not only wanders, it sometimes leaves completely.

That is the way it is with me too. The majority of my weight loss this last time, was .5 to 1 pound a week.... but because I that I learned so much...... what kind of foods were the best for me, and learning to like them. Never liked fruits but now I do! Also I learned portion control..... boy no wonder I kept gaining all those years, I was eating 2-4 times the portions of comfort food and maybe go back for seconds........ since I didn't piece in between meals...... I would say. "I just don't know why I can't lose weight," Ha!! ......... So I do believe that the slower we lose, the smarter we get....... emoticon Don't give up. emoticon

I am down 20 pounds...since September. It has been slow and there were lots of weeks where I stayed the same or even gained. Keep your focus on your goal weight, you will get there! Most of all don't let frustration get you off track!

emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm not losing weight...I'm getting rid of it! I have not intention of finding it again!
