Still here - managed to delete all my e-mails (maybe a good thing?) while 'cleaning' my in-box.

Have not been serious (yet) about meeting goals, but company is gone, house is decorated, food if prepared and I've joined campus rec. Need to get oriented to the facility and start!

Namaste all.

Maybe it's because I posted late last week, but I feel like this week has really flown right by!!!

Anyway, here's the haps:

Still faltering on my daily tracking, but seeming to do most of the things I want to track, like drink lots of water, do yoga when I wake, exercise...

In the realm of exercise, I'm doing OK, but still not able to consistently get in 30 mins a day *sigh* However, I did just sign up for a bootcamp, and I'll be attending that 2xs a week for the rest of the month...this will get my heart pumping. The camp promises to help you burn at least 1000 calories each visit...woo-hoo...butt-kicking good times!

In the realm of ST before bed, I'm still doing well, but I haven't upped the # of sets yet, and I need to get on that...TONIGHT!

I'm still a total slacker when it comes to my writing, which is starting to get me down. I wanted to have my outline finished by the end of Nov, and be working on chapters right now UGH! I just put 3.5 hrs of writing on my calendar for this week though. Now, I just have to stick to it and not let other things take precedence over writing!!! Why can't I make my personal goals of higher importance in my life?! so frustrating.

Anyway, I've been eating well, except today, but today was just poor eating b/c it was imbalanced, not necessarily unhealthy...I'll take it.

I wish you all a terrific week, filled with healthy choices. And I sincerely hope we can all post more goals achieved than not next week...see you again then!

~*~ Nicole ~*~

Wishing you some sort of success every day, and the ability to always see your blessings.

Hi, Sharon, Aburis, and team!

I composed online (big mistake) and lost my last post...
This will force me to be more pithy!

I'm aiming to drink more water, and I'm making slow progress on that front. Think I'll have another glass right now!

I'm aiming to walk three days a week and be outside at least ten minutes a day. I've done that. I noticed that when I went two days straight without a walk I was in poor spirits. Something for me to keep in mind!

I'm aiming to eat 5-9 fruits and veggies a day. I've been getting the five in...but this week haven't been at the high end of the spectrum. More carrots, more beets, more celeriac, more kale, more berries and apples -- Luckily, I've got all that stuff in storage from this summer's bounty (except the kale which is still, somehow, perservering in the cold).

I also need to eat more protein: New goal: eat at least the minimum amount of protein every day in order to stave off the sugar-jones.

Have not meditated. Not even once. :(

And -- I gained a pound. Not so good.

Carry on!
Kathleen

Coconut, citrus and cucumber are the only foods I like smelling like. I'm adding aromatherapy to my daily goals this week. Thanks for the reminder!

Down a pound! Don't see why but I'll take it.

JESPAH - I totally know what you mean about the body spray. I bought a roll-on perfume this summer that smelled to sweet and strong to me right after I bought it, but I've been wearing it regularly since it got colder. It has a nice citrus scent to it that makes me feel energized!

And good for you walking, even though it is difficult to fit into your work schedule!

Oops, missed this one.

The week was blah, like many of them are. I do get out to walk as much as I can during the day. However, recognize that I pay a price for this. Quite literally! I am paid by the hour. Walking = me losing money. Fun, huh?

But I do it anyway. As for working later, that is not in the cards due to the commute/my fatigue level.

One thing I started this week was getting back to wearing a body spray I had stopped wearing over the summer, when it had seemed too cloying. Now it seems fine. It smells kinda coconutty so I get to think of warmer days. :)

Spending 30 to 45 minutes walking in sunlight (when it's there), preferably early morning or afternoon
Making more time for cardio, mostly workout CDs
Entering nutrition has been a bust; the chaos of getting ready to move, family stuff, just life in general...can only try to improve this
Meditation keeps me hanging on
Drinking lots of water and green tea
Wt is 198.5

This past week has been one of the most demanding and stressful I've had in a while, so I went with Ann's approach to seek beauty. It was SO helpful. When I picked my head up out of the immediate craziness, I found lots of loveliness going on around it!

I met some goals during a day or two this week, and didn't meet most goals most days, so focusing forward this coming week:
-No binge
-No deprivation
-Track ALL foods, even through the holidays and weekends
No holiday grazing!
-1800-1900 calories/day
-2 sets of 5 reps of push ups per day or 12 stair flights
-At least 30 minutes of exercise every morning before work
-Meditation breaks every day

~ track food and exercise~

I let this go and am pretty sure my weight's gone in the wrong direction again. I deliberately left weight loss of this list, thinking it might better my chances of following through, but...really? What am I doing?

~10 min/day rotating ST and 10 min/day walking~

So far, so good.

~ weekly Feldenkrais class plus its morning loosening routine~

This class is so good for my back but it's tough to do on my own. I have adopted a few before-getting-out-of-bed moves and some I resort to when in pain. Pretty good but not great.

~"chase the sun" by chasing Beauty: see, touch, create, read or photograph~

This has been such an eye opener and I am grateful to be establishing this habit. Maha, you're standing as my conscience on this one! Sometimes I just have to search for something to share but knowing you'll be looking for it gets me every time. (hmm...is this why we can make our tracking public?)

~ post as an active member of this team~

Well, I'm here now. I'll weigh tomorrow.

Checking in a very gray, rainy morning here in Chicago!

Here were my original goals:

- Yoga every morning, not matter how sleepy I feel emoticon

I have pretty much kept up with this, although not while home for Thanksgiving...

- Log at least 7 miles of running weekly emoticon

Yep!

- Track all food, even on busy holiday days emoticon

Er, this sort of fell by the wayside Thanksgiving weekend, but I always kept track of breakfast and lunch, then made sure to leave a good bank of calories for dinner each night.

- Strength training twice weekly emoticon

Need to work on this...

It always seems impossible until it is done.

OMG -- December has arrived! Weekly progress: emoticon or emoticon

~~ track, track track food and exercise emoticon such powerful stuff, this tracking! It is definitely cumbersome at times, but so far, I've totally stuck with it

~~ exercise (a minimum of) 10 minutes every day emoticon & emoticon could be better, but I got some good days in

~~ add sit-ups to my every-other day strength training regimen emoticon I got three days of strength training AND 124 sit-ups (each day!) in this week...not too shabby!

~~ Keep SAD at bay. emoticon Sill getting out-and-about...just needing to bundle up to do it! Got some awesome bike rides in.

~~ I removed yoga as a check-in goal...I do a little here, a little there, and that's that!

~~ Sunday morning weigh-in -- ta-DAAAA! 141.7. emoticon I'm deeply grateful for this...and for observing the process. Couple high calorie days, but a couple low ones too. Not total consistency with exercise, but more days of doing more...like adding the sit-ups...had an impact.

so forgot to check in last week. so here is a summary of the two weeks:

1. do some type of cardio exercise at least 5 days each week did this the first week but this week I only did 4 days.

2. hit the gym 3 times in the week ( this includes st training and cardio) yes to both weeks. I actually have a contract and have to meet with the staff at least 2-3 times a week to continue on it, so that helps a lot

3. journal my food- big oops! actually did about 1/2 of the time and on paper.

4. 5-7 fruits and veggies yes 70-80 percent of the time. definitely room for improvement
5. 6-8 cups water and tea...did poorly. will work on this
6. read something motivational daily. yes!
