I don't usually drink pop but if I happen to have one it's regular pop. No aspartame for me.

I generally drink a diet coke or other diet pop maybe once a week, usually from a fountain. My boyfriend is a total pop drinker (so I take the occasional swig just as a taste), although I managed to curb it a bit by challenging him to not drink any all of September. I've switched him over to Mio and other water flavours. I've read the research about diet pop and honestly, unless you're drinking an excessive amount, it really isn't going to have any side effects on an otherwise healthy person. I'd rather eat my calories than drink them- and if I'm going to drink them it's going to be wine. :D

Cheers!

Grew up not drinking sodas and have never acquired the 'taste' for them. I drink diet cola about six times a year - usually when I am eating out and with certain foods. I can't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi!

No sodas for me. I prefer my green tea, and lots of water. It took a little while, but I don't desire sodas anymore. And I don't think that diet soda is healty to drink. One is better off with the regular soda.

It's crazy but at my work I don't have access to cold water and I just can't drink water unless it's cold, so I do tend to drink the diet sodas since the regular soda will blow my calorie budget.

I try to keep it down, but I probably drink 5-7 cans a week, plus my aspartame in my coffee once a day.

I have not had any issues with it, don't find headaches or stomach issues...so far, so good.

I won't drink regular pop because I want to avoid the excessive calories and excessive sugar. About once every 2 weeks I will treat myself to a can or small bottle of diet pop. Coke zero, Dr Pepper, A&W Root Beer or my most favourite poisons of choice.

I have read the studies that too much artificial sweeteners are bad for you, but I have also read the studies (they do actually exist) that too much oxygen and too much water are bad for you.

I used to drink a diet Coke a day then it became 2 diet Cokes a day - my husband is a big fan and drinks 2 or 3 a day. A number of years ago my daughter started drinking out of her dad's cup. She was quite young and I didn't/don't want her eating/drinking anything with aspartame. I told her not to drink the pop and she said "but you drink diet Coke." So I told her I don't anymore - and I quit, cold turkey. That was 4 or 5 years ago - it's been so long I can't quite remember! When I quit I had headaches every day for at least a month - but I'm glad I did it. I don't crave it at all anymore. I will have the occasional ice tea - and enjoy a Perrier now and again.

It was one of my goals this year to quit drinking soda. It's been more than 50 days and so far, it's not so bad. I crave the stuff from time to time but when I think of the heartburn and bloating it was causing, I do not wish to go back to it !!

I rarely drink soda's if I do I prefer "un"cola's or ginger-ale... And I rather have one with real sugar than the diet stuff. I find club soda with lemon, slice of ginger or a bit of juice can be a nice alternative to pop.

Once every other week (or more) I will have a diet pop. My favourites are - Coke Zero, Dr Pepper, Root Beer. Default is Coke Zero.
I know the aspartame and other chemicals aren't so great. Try eating too many sugar free candies and see what the chemicals do to your bowels.
emoticon
Still, once in a while I like a 'treat' and I don't want the sugars in the regular pop.

I have a real diet soda problem, and I know it. I have had just one small bottle in the past several days, but usually I have one or two PER DAY. It is the one habit of mine that I'd most like to change. I just love bubbles! It would be better if I drank sparkling water with citrus or something.

I used to drink Diet Pepsi almost exclusively, but I gave it up 2 years ago. Once I did, I was able to lose 23 lbs, and that was the only major change I did. I had been doing Zumba a few times a week prior to quitting pop and had no results, but it finally happened after I stopped.

The aspertame in diet pop is so bad for you, and it makes you crave sweet things. I was able to get my eating under control after I kicked that addiction, and I felt so much healthier, wasn't getting headaches (except for the caffeine withdrawl headaches I was getting the first few weeks after quitting), my stomach felt better, I wasn't burping all the time, my eyes felt less tired.

Ashamed to admit but I was drinking 2 litres of coke zero a day most days. New Years resolution was to really cut back, found when I did my joints did not hurt as much and ankle swelling went down. My brother who never smoked and was not a drinker died of esophageal cancer - he also drank 2 litres a day, makes me think maybe something to do with aspect tame.
I have not stopped completely but limit myself to less than 2 litres a week instead of a day.

I've really cut down my pop consumption since I got a Soda Stream and can drink unlimited carbonated water! BUT I do drink diet pop, I find regular too sweet.

I do drink diet soda. I know I should give it up but I have not quite gotten there yet.

I have stopped drinking sodas years ago when I joined Spark People. At the beginning I was drinking diet drinks but soon stopped when I researched aspartam and sugar replacement. Now, water is my drink. I may add some lemon to it but very rarely.

I drink sparkling water when I want something other than water. I might have a diet Pepsi once every six months......

I used to drink diet soda, but with my allergies, I've had to give it up too. I maybe have one soda a month - often less. then it's a regular soda

I drink diet soda because I don't like to spend the calories on soda.

My favorite is diet-pepsi, but I like any kind of soda so I'll drink different flavors just for fun.
