Not very glamorous, but I eat about 1/2 cup of Bran Buds (great fibre source) with either 1% milk and a couple teaspoons of sliced almonds or with greek yogurt mixed with low fat yogurt. This keeps me full for a long time and gives me the fibre I need, if you know what I mean... I have been eating this for years and still enjoy it.

Wow - What an eclectic mix. Interesting that quite a few eat peanut butter. Oatmeal is a big favourite, along with eggs in various flavours, yogurt and toast.
I used to never eat breakfast. I do now, because if I don't I usually get nauseous by noon. I don't eat a solid one though. Here are the ingredients (I live in a farm community that is BIG on organic, local, and healthy, so I am lucky):
1 c goats milk, quarter cup yogurt, half cup ice water, 2 ice cubes, half an avocado, 1 T ground flax, one raw egg (award winning local organic farmer), scoop whey protein, half cup frozen berries, and one cup of fresh greens (either kale, collard or spinach). I might add sweetener or flavour if I am in the mood.

Usually eat 3/4 cup of oatmeal with a tablespoon brown sugar, about 20 - 30 raisins and one or two strawberries. Often add a piece of fruit such as a Grapefruit to the side or 1/2 cup of Greek Yogourt 0% Fat (honey, vanilla or strawberry), or cottage cheese. My guilty pleasure, coffee with 2% milk, I usually down two cups of this by about 9AM. Breakfast follows my morning workout which starts between 5-5:30am and ends around 6:45am during the week. I have a last chance workout before weigh in on Saturday morning, usually a 5K treadmill run and strength training . I was 214lb when I started Jan 1 and am now 184lbs and feeling great.

I love breakfast. As a general rule, I like a breakfast with whole grains and a good source of protein. I eat my eggs sunny side up most mornings with a few slices of toast
Other mornings, I go for eggs scrambled with frozen mixed veggies in them with some hot sauce and a slice of toast or a whole wheat wrap for a breakfast wrap.
I also like non fat plain Greek yogurt with muesli or granola with fresh fruit added.
And on some mornings I opt for 2 slices of whole grain bread topped with homemade almond butter and light organic jam.
Those are my go-to breakfasts, but I like to get creative with this meal. I just keep to the grains/protein formula.
I never skip breakfast, and never have. Without it I am hungry and cranky. I eat within the first hour I am awake.
Oatmeal with chopped apple, yogurt, cinnamon and nutmeg Tea
Omelet with low fat cheese, mushrooms, and spinach topped with Salsa Tea Orange

Smoothie is my usual breakfast consisting of a banana. Greek yogurt. Mixed berries, maybe some pineapple and some flax seed. Other days it MIT be a poached egg on whole grain toast and of course decaf coffee.

I like my Red River Cereal with lots of cinnamon, a bit of unsweetened applesauce, a big spoonful of plain greek yogurt topped with another big spoonful of bee pollen. Very filling and easy to make quickly in the morning. It cooks quicker in the microwave if you mix the cereal and water together the night before.

Smoked salmon on toast with eggs. i usually add a fruit to it. Now i cant say i do this everyday (smoked salmon is expensive, espcially on the Prairies!!!) but i try once a week. i feel GREAT on days that i do. i also try to add a herbal tea to it.

A Splenda chocolate protein drink starts my day with a wonderful taste of chocolate. I try to follow it with juice. I make enough protein mix to las for about two weeks. The easier the breakfast the easier it is to face it nutritionally.

During the week, I have Greek yogurt and fruit or Genuine Health Vegan Protein drink. On the weekends, one day it will be eggs, sausage and either whole wheat bread or hash browns with fresh fruit. If I have company, I'll do something special, but healthy.

Still trying to get the hang of breakfast, but our new fancy (fuzzy logic) rice cooker is making it easier for me to make steel cut oats during the week. I put in 1 cup oats, 3 cups water and 4 table spoons of flax... then set the end-time timer for the same time as my alarm clock. When I wake up I divide the cooked oatmeal into 4 portions, add cinnamon and a tbsp of maple syrup to each, and put the three extras in the fridge for later in the week.
When I have time to cook in the morning though, I love eating eggs. I bought a fancy eco-non-stick frying pan that is great for cooking scrambled eggs without any oil or butter. Usually I top the eggs with some salsa for low-calorie flavour and have a toasted English muffin on the side (no butter).
I can't really offer any advice on how to kick the cream and sugar habit, other than to just do it! I used to be a Tim Hortons XL double-double girl, but after I started drinking coffee with 2% milk for a bit, I lost the taste for all that cream and sugar. I can't stand the taste of sugar in my coffee now, and cream leaves a greasy feel in my mouth. I guess my palate has changed. (Oddly, I still love sugar and rich treats... just not sugar or cream in my coffee!)
Everything I do is in moderation. No extreme diets here; I go to the gym 3 times a week when my schedule allows it; and I just try to make the best choices I can, regardless of what life throws my way.

I have noticed from reading other people's posts that I eat lots. So far today I had 2 eggs in non stick pan with PAM cooking spray. Then I have half a cup all bran with half a banana ( or some other fruit) and either yogurt or skim milk. And then water, and a mug of coffee. I wish there was a good way to cut my 1 cream 1 sugar coffee habit. If there is please tell me. It is 75 calories I could trim but its gotta be good. My second cup is black.

I eat oatmeal with a banana, skim milk, fruit. Some days.
Get down my three water and a tea. Each morning. =============================================== Other mornings it may be a boiled egg, 1 toast, S/m and fruit of my choice.
I try to do 8 water a day . I find 3 in the morning. Three in after noon. And two before 6 at night. =========================================================================== It apparently helps the metabolism.

I usually have oatmeal with lots of toppings, like chia seeds, peanut butter, nuts or fresh fruit. For extra protein i sometimes whip an egg into the oatmeal. It makes it extra creamy too.
On the weekends I will have eggs, fruit and toast. I tried smoothies for breakfast but for me I prefer them as a snack in the afternoon to get me through my workout. I also have a coffee or tea when I get to work.

Wow! Kudos to all of you with these fantastic sounding breakfasts! I wish I could be that devoted to the most important meal of the day! Unfortunately I rarely eat breakfast, I just have zero appetite in the a.m. until I've been up for a few hours, so instead I drink 8 oz of Bolthouse Farms Mocha Cappuccino drink which has a lot of vitamins, protein and fiber. It's all I can manage first thing. Luckily my girls don't take after me and each eat a nice big breakfast of fruit and cereal every day!

I am big on breakfast, I always feel better if I start the day with a proper one. That being said, sometimes it gets boring... So, I work at variety in my breakys.
eg. Love my French Toast, fresh bread soaked in egg, sometimes a slice of Canadian Bacon, I love topping it all with yogurt, coconut chips, fresh fruit, walnuts and of course Canadian Maple Syrup. It's soooo good!
Then there are the standbys for a quicker breaky like almond butter and honey on toast, or a healthy cereal with almond milk plus fruit... or that protein smoothie with a banana. Lot's of choices. And I do love my coffee too!

I need to change this but have been doing this for years. Any suggestions, I am all for convenience and unfortunately/fortunately have a Tim's in the caf.

I start my day off with a half bowl of Fibre 1 cereal with a heaping tablespoon of ground flax mixed in, topped with a small cut up banana and 1% milk. Sometimes I'll mix it up a bit and throw a few raisins in instead of the banana. It's not hash browns and bacon, but it will do! ;)

I eat a lot of omelets made with egg whites. I am a spinach lover so buy spinach in the ready to use package. Then some days I have mushrooms or turkey sausage with the spinach. I always shred my cheese and sprinkle on a couple of tablespoons for taste. This gives me variety each day but for a big change I steam the spinach in a fry pan with one or two eggs put a lid on and they poach in no time. I have sliced tomatoes with this. Sometimes I add a slice of 12 grain toast but I agree I notice I get hungry faster when I add bread to my meal. I leave the house early so have timed making this breakfast to less than five minutes while I make my lunch to take with me.

I often have 2 eggs with a couple of pieces of Weight Watchers bread toasted. This morning I decided to try a SparkPeople menu plan breakfast. I had to substitute a few items, though, due to dietary concerns. So this morning I had a cup of multi-grain Cheerios, 1/2 cup of 1% cottage cheese and 3/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce, plus my morning coffee. And I am so FULL!

toasted bagel with cream cheese pate on toast (Brandt is low fat and tasty) scrambled eggs with a small handful of shredded mozzarella and toast (1 egg + 1 Egg Beaters)

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day! typically I will eat either cereal, toast, a bagel or oatmeal and then I add a peice of fruit and glass of milk. I'll put anything on my bagel/toast that I feel like - peanut butter, jam, brown sugar and cinnimon, honey, chez whiz, cream cheese etc
Sometimes I make eggs either scrambled or an omlette, but I dont really like eggs - I eat them because my body seems to crave them. Weird!!

Good morning! I always eat breakfast but I've come to realize (by tracking my nutrition) that I don't eat enough in the daytime especially at breakfast. Also, I don't get enough protein. I'm trying to balance my food intake so I have started eating beans and toast for breakfast and and adding more things like seeds and nuts to my oatmeal.
Lise, I like your smoothie ideas. I used to drink a lot of smoothies made with light soy milk, strawberries and kale. I'll have to get on that too!

I usually start my day with Cheerios and milk. I also add in an apple or whatever other fruit I may have on hand. I am trying to add protein to my breakfast so I may change up the usual for something more substantial.
Sometimes one day, one hour, one minute or one second at a time is what it takes. As long as you are still moving towards that goal you will reach it.

Funny, I used to be a breakfast skipper...but now I look forward to it! My latest breakie that I have been enjoying is Summer Oatmeal. I make it the night before ( you can make up enough for 4-5 days if you want!) It has old fashioned oats, ground flax, skim milk, greek yogourt a bit of sweetener, a few chopped nuts and fresh fruit. Today's fruit is blueberries...and man is it good!!!

I start with 2 glasses of water with psyllium. Then I'll have a glass of green juice(pineapple juice blended with spinach, other green leafy veggies, flax seeds and UDO oil). Then, I'll have toast with p.butter and jam or cereal or oatmeal, or whatever I feel like eating that morning. I usually eat while reading the 2 newspapers I get delivered at my door. Breakfast is a big production at my house! I have to get up early because it takes time! My husband does not eat breakfast and he can't imagine taking that much time for that meal!
