Been working out at the Y 3x weekly for the last 7 weeks or so...it's going well. I haven't really lost alot of weight, but can much more comfortably fit into one size smaller, so that's good. And I just realized that I have veins on the backs of my hands! :-)

Our Y is pretty cool. It helps that the times that I go it's all old people and people my size working out. No hardbodies here. That would be too much for me to deal with right now....Just starting out and all. Did sign up for the FitStart class, which is where the trainer goes and teaches you how to do each type of machine/exercise over a 7 week period. And since I'm the only person in my class, I actually get 7 weeks of personal training - for free!

Got the best surprise in the mail Saturday.... The YMCA sent us a coupon that knocks almost $30 of the monthly membership, waives the enrollment fee, and gives us $25 in ProgramBucks if we join in April. Which is especially awesome, since we were already planning to join. I guess good things DO come to those who wait! :-)

I have a 5 day exercise streak going. My daughter has joined me. We are trying to see how many days in a row we can make it. I must do 30 minutes, she must do 3 minutes (she's 5 years old) in order for us to keep the streak alive!! Mostly treadmill so far, but if it ever warms up outside, we'll go for some walks together!!

Well, I've completed 6 races this year and have consistently improved my times. I'm still slow compared to other runners, but that doesn't take away from the personal accomplishment!!

Next race is 8/11. Looking forward to it!

Making time for exercise is still a daily challenge, but I'm not giving up on myself!!

Had my first 5k of the running season a few weeks ago. Had to walk/job it all since I haven't stuck to a running schedule lately. But, I finished in 41:41

Have another one on 3/18 for St Pat's Day. Just hoping to beat my last time. Wish me luck!!

Started C25K yesterday. Did it in '09 and it started my love for running. Since I haven't been running regularly the last few months (after foot injury), I'm going to do it again to prepare for this Spring / Summer race season. This time around, I'm bumping up my speed so that I get into the groove of a real jog (5mph) minimum. I'm sick of being soooooo slow!!
Can't wait for my next race at the end of February!!

Do you have a wii? I have found several games that involve exercise and I have been having a great time doing it! One is Walk it out...Zumba. I also have the wii active, and wii fitness. The walk it out game is all about walking..... and building an island. I love that i don't realize how far/long I have walked until my muscles are sore. Just a thought...

Zumba is a also fun!!! Great exercise both for the wii, and in regular classes.

I need to find a fun activity I have access to on a regular basis. I love to hike but I don't live in a area where I can do it at all.

I tried to do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred but I hurt my back and neck...I have to find something fun/enjoyable to get myself in motion again!

Love the ice skating idea! How fun! Love it!

What type of exercise bike do you have? I'm thinking of getting one. I just made a workout room in my house. I love it and the kids love it. They've been running a ton on the treadmill, bouncing on the exercise balls and bosu, and using the resistance tubing. I like having space to do my exercise DVDs!

I'm determined to find FUN ways for my family to stay active. So... for Christmas, we all got ice skates!!! Went for the first time the other day and it was a great workout! I'm really excited to keep trying new things in order to keep my butt off the couch in 2012!!

My husband and I have decided to join the local park district fitness center when the memberships go on sale 1/2 price in February. Until then, we are creating a workout schedule at home (bike and treadmill) that we are going to commit to do as a partnership each week! I'm excited to have someone to be accountable to... we've never tried this before. Here's hoping it works!!

I forgot to post about my 60 mile walk last weekend to raise money for breast cancer. It was really hard, but a really great experience!

I ran / walked a 5k this weekend. (My foot slowly seems to be getting better, but I can't run yet like I used to. Short distances is all I can handle, with walking in between.) Running, or walking, these events always inspire me to want to do more!!!

I work 3 days a week at a busy Level 1 trauma center hospital in the O.R. (Operating Room). I wear a pedometer a lot of days and I usually get in 5-6 miles of walking in a 8.5 hour shift (7a-3:30p). I'm SO tired I go home and take a nap.

I try to burn 500 calories a day the other 4 days of the week either by mowing the grass, ellipitical, or treadmill. I had been out of this habit for a while until this past week and it makes a huge difference! I sleep better! I feel better! I handle stress better!

However, I am not a early morning exerciser! I barely stumble into the shower at 5:45am to get to work at 7:00am!!!

Well, it hasn't been a 14 year continuous streak. LOL! That would be amazing! I started walking with my sister just after my oldest daughter was born. I've had three more babies since then & my sister had one more & is currently pregnant. We've definitely had times where we were off our walking for a few weeks after the birth of each of the babies or during vacations, and my broken leg this summer put a crimp in our walking too. But once the doctor gave me the okay, I was back to walking (albeit very slowly) before my boot cast was off.

Wow, JLBAKE... I'm impressed! 14 years is AMAZING!!

I have a two day streak of morning exercise going! LOL. I really want to stick to it this time, but getting my butt out of bed is usually the problem. I'm hoping that doing it first thing will start the days right so that I can feel better and feel inspired to make better food choices.

I generally walk first thing in the morning. I've done this for 14 years and I know that my body is very used to my pattern. I've started adding in strength training throughout the day to keep my metabolism going.

Do you have a regular exercise routine or do you mix it up? How about a favorite fitness class or home video? Is there anything you've learned that blasts fat the most? Does working out in the morning help you be more successful the rest of the day or do you prefer to go to the gym in the evenings?

This is a place to share your exercise experiences! We can all learn from one another how to best keep our bodies in motion and burn those extra calories!! Let us know what you're doing!!
