This was a great fun hike! It's much different than when you go to Multnomah Falls with the intent of scenery watching and taking my time taking pictures and just spending a half day up in the gorge! I did take some pictures, but since it's a "race" I felt like I had to push just that little bit harder to keep going and not stop and take pics of every vista view, fern, stream-let, etc! And the weather was great, not to chilly in the morning and stayed fine the whole morning Definitely something I would do again!

We're going to be out of town the weekend of this race. It was a last minute deal that came up.
Would anyone here be interested in my paid registration? I've emailed the organizer to check on transferring my registration but have not heard back yet. I don't want to wait much longer to offer the entry.
I didn't make it up, too many things happening over the weekend. I do wan to try to get up there at least once before the race, but my September calendar is filling fast, and now I have to make a run down to Las Vegas to pick my daughter up to move back to Vancouver in a couple of weeks. If I get up there this weekend, I'll post some notes!
WF, Sorry your plans didn't work out I've thought about going up and scouting out the trail as well. Did you make it up there?
Chuck, it would be great to have you with us! I don't think we've even met yet, so that would be good. I think we're all about walking the trail, so don't feel that you have to commit to running it completely. C~
I will check this one out. I am so out of shape it is pitiful!! I will hit the gym for the next week and see how well I do on the treadmill. Sounds like a fun, but tough, run. I remember the Warrior Dash last year where they had us going uphill near the beginning of the race. I expended a lot of energy fast at the beginning. I will need to work on that because it was no 2.5 miles of uphill. Steep downhill can be energy consuming as well. Sounds like a great challenge.

Well, my weekend got ruined! I was going to go camping this weekend, but I'm stuck working Sunday and Monday, so I think I'm going to get up early tomorrow and go walk the race trail! Might as well scope it out and see how it'll be next month. Plus it'll be a good 5+ mile bit of exercise this weekend!
It is NOT going to rain that weekend! It is not going to rain the entire week ~before~ the race, either! I just got new trail runners, and I think I've finally found a really comfortable, supportive and good pair of trail shoes. But they are mostly white, so this race/walk is not going to be the hike that they get ruined on! I've been wearing them almost every day to get them broken in before this hike, so I will be really disappointed if it's so wet and yucky that weekend that my new shoes get all dirty!
Hey Egehringer we'll be glad to have you with us! No, this is not the team walk for September. There is a fee to register for the Multnomah Falls Trail Race, so I don't want our team to feel that they have to pay to participate in team activities.
I'll be sending out an email soon about the September team walk. I'm thinking Glendoveer golf course, around the middle of the month. More information coming soon! C~
I'll have to check it out and see if they need volunteers. It is the week before Long Beach!
